Mrs SD , thank you for my Gold Star. I cannot imagine my house ( or don't want to) if I hadn't jumped on board a few years ago .
Up and off to clean the kitchen and put some washing on.
Hoping to fill another cs bag today. Yesterday having taken pictures of an item to post i out in cs bag before uploading whixh is good as often I upload and within hours decide really cs. I so want to spend less hours trying to sort my house and know too often I pick things up and put back or move to somewhere else rather than out and also inflate its worth! 😞

Laughed at the comments about genealogy - I think my children thought traipsing round cemeteries in the rain was what all famiies did. DS2 is visiting friends in Bradford today and I asked him to drop by one of the cemeteries and take some pictures for me. I have bought quite a lot of certificates in the past but rarely get them now except for direct ancestors and I have most of theirs.
Visitors (Niece and gt niece) have just left as they need to be in Sheffield for 7 for swimming competition. It was nice to see them. It is her mum that had the knee replacement recently.
My leg is definitely much better just slight ache but I will take care not to set it off again. I will also go and look for a proper office chair. Nothing on all weekend then something everyday during the week. Tomorrow morning will be frogs I think. I'll just potter today. Everywhere clean and tidy really as I had visitors. I guess I can start sorting stuff for the holiday.
666 Birthday cards taken home by niece for later this month.
667 Lots of cleaning, tidying and putting away done

@weenancyinAmerica on one memorable holiday DSis & I stepped into one cemetery to visit the location of my Dad’s little sister’s grave. She was 3 when she died and none of her brothers or sisters were at the funeral but they had a vague idea of the location. My grandad was so upset that he refused to talk about her for the rest of his life.
Anyway bright sunny day before we stepped inside the cemetery gates. Once inside the cemetery it started raining. Once we found our baby auntie’s grave location (no headstone) it started hailing. We decided Grandad was sending a meteorlogical message from ‘the other side’ and took the hint that we’d been there long enough.
Auntie B is buried with lots of other children and in the middle of them all is the grave of a Victorian policeman who died on duty. I’m not sure how peaceful his eternal rest is but they’ve all got a responsible adult keeping an eye on them.
Oh and as soon as we left the cemetery it stopped hailing on us and the sun came out!!✒️ Declutter 2026 🏅 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅)

Morning all.
MrsSD - I could imagine my Mr F saying his usual about dinner - he said it every day. "That looks lovely darling"
Mr F broke one of my Portmeirion plates so I got 2 of the plates you liked - in case another breakage occurred.
Young J has just been here to move the boxed bedroom furniture - again. It is now in the lounge because the landing and stair carpet is being laid on Monday. I need to empty out the bottom of the airing cupboard as I want carpet to go into there. After Monday the furniture needs to be moved back onto the landing as the lounge carpet is being laid on Friday.
I need to empty the bottom of the fitted cupboard in the lounge before Friday so the carpet can go in there.
I am thinking of having the stair rails painted again - they haven't got a good finish on them.
I plan to empty the airing cupboard of yesterday's ironing and fold the washing on the airer. Then I will pop into town - feeding the birds on the way and call at Asd. to collect my parcels.
I have ironing to do when I get back and a rug corner to tidy up + a wash load.

Hi all, up late today as I stayed up very late watching the footy 😂
2 presents plus bags and cards from stash delivered yesterday. The work in the conservatory continues, bits binned, one item in the cs bag and things bagged up for washing before being given to the cs plus 4 golf balls, no idea where they came from as neither I nor OH play golf but I have put them to one side as ln's sil plays golf so I shall pass them over when I see ln later today.
My phone has been creaking and complaining there is no storage so yesterday I downloaded all the photos into my laptop and then copied them onto a memory stick as well. I then went through some of them and after checking they were stored safely deleted over 300 from my phone and 7 videos. I have more to go through and will do it in small chunks but I need to be happy I have got them safe somewhere 😁.
The kitchen bin and kitchen recycling were emptied, 3 candles uu and a dust rag binned 😁
@Mrs SD was it cape Verde you were supporting? I was and boy did they make Argentina work for the win. Such an exciting game and no shame on cape Verde losing that game as Argentina are the world champions. The cape Verde players should be very proud of themselves. When you get your tv sorted all the highlights are available on the I player if you want to catch them 😁. Yes it is good OH is on board with the decluttering, it's just a shame OH isn't living here atm to help with it all 😐.
Right off for another cuppa then I have to go to the bag wash and get some washing on the line to dry today.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Take care everyone

Thank you for our medals Mrs SD. I must commend Mr V, he has whittled his techie stuff down and down to basically one small shed. I call it the large shed as it is our biggest inherited shed. We do have a massive tool box on wheels in the kitchen and a built in cupboard in the dining room with banana boxes of electricals but this is a fraction of the electricals dowry that he came with.
I have just caught up with posts, sterling work as usual. It all helps.
I was another teenager who was trailed around church yards as my parents did our family tree. Some interesting places. Jenkin chapel, I know you will look up Mrs SD and excitement, a bigamist whose 2 families children all had the same names. Eldest sons, Adam, eldest daughters Elizabeth etc. I think there were 8 children with the original wife and 7 with the second. The marriages were conducted at the same time. Good old chap used to say he was visiting his other farm 30 miles away and would be at each farm for months at a time. It only came to light when he died. My Mum's family were from Essex and before that France, they were lace makers. My Grandad came to Castelton after the first war to look for work, met my Nana and the rest id history. He was aiming for Sheffield but only had enough money for a fare to Castleton.😁
Yesterday Mr V ventured into the built in cupboard in the dining room. He was most surprised to learn he had stuff in there, he had completely forgotten. It is mostly recording studio stuff. I don't think he will ever have another home studio but he can't face letting it go atm. A few bits retrieved to be given to his mate.
He cut more of the lilac forest down. He took 2 builders bags to the tip yesterday and has cut another bag this morning and is off to the tip now. It has started to rain now so that has spoiled my plans of continuing to weed the front garden. It's a slow job as I am being very thorough as some bindweed and horse tail has emerged.😥
I must say it's nice to have a quiet weekend with no plans. We are Oxfordshire bound again next week to babysit and next weekend is our biggest local towns carnival. This is the annual event where Mr V tries to off himself by working night and day for the whole weekend.
Oh I forgot to tell you. Had a phone call from DD1 whilst I was at the charity shop. She is in Poland, she has forgotten to leave the cat sitter a key. We had to hoof it over to hers and meet the Polish lock smith. Took literally a minute for him to get in and cost £158. Of course we have a key to her old front door! Cat was fine, left the key for the cat sitter, crisis averted! Also forgot to say HMRC want DD1 to pay her fine of about 8K as a lump sum. No option for instalments. She managed to juggle it to pay by the deadline or have more fines! The cost of being honest eh?

I woke up today and had a total blitz. I have two donation bags with 5 jumpers, a scarf, a dress, 3 tops, a pair of shorts, a pair of leggings and a pair of trousers. I also added a cushion, a bag, a box and a room spray.😁

Back from holiday and the RoD is a right mess with our bags half unpacked and laundry scattered about. sigh.
On the plus side - I took 4 books on holiday with me and brought back 3. I could have left those as well but OH might enjoy 2 of them when he runs out of other reading material and then they can be taken back to the Tesco charity shelf to be sold again. The third one he's read already (he says, I can't remember ever seeing him with it) but a friend has said she's been meaning to read it so I'm getting together a bag of books I don't want and will take them to her next time we meet (16th) and she can pass them along to a charity shop when she's done with them.
Minimal amount of tat buying while on holiday, a tshirt for both of us, a nice ash tray and touristy lighter for the smoker (saving it for our anniversary next month), a nice little olive bowl for me and a proper sponge for him.
