Yo
You and me both 😆 agree with everything, haven't seen the cruel sea but love all the others. I'm sure in time we will be able to adjust background music on TV programmes. Young ones can watch with the music, us olders can turn it down to hear what the actors are saying. Would be nice to be able to adjust angles too 😆 on our huge tvs nowadays I also don't want to zoom in to a face 3 foot high 🙃 😅

Oops, forgot to post this yesterday - 😬 Sunday was an overcast day with a high of 13°C (feeling 2° colder due to a N wind) & a low of 3°C DH watched the MotoGP races, DSis tidied her room & I watched TV & knitted - hat 2/3rds done. I did make a full roast dinner though - beef, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots & tomatoes + cabbage & Yorkshire puddings with DH making the gravy. Delicious 😋 Wudupa. DH then made a start on a soup. DSis & I watched this weeks BGT - very entertaining 😊

Morning all.
Deb4 - two of my Sons live in Nottingham just because they support Forest. I live at the farthest point of kent - eldest son used to travel up to Nottingham by coach then moved there. My eldest son started to support Forest when he was 6 years old - a teacher introduced him to the team. Then his two brothers copied and now all three are mad Forest fans. Middle son B has a 22 year old son with Global Development Delay and he is a fan.
R has been and loaded up his car for the tip run. There is another one booked for Thursday. I really am not sure if that will clear all that is in the front garden.
J is here - he had the same idea as me about painting the hall ceiling first - he has already finished that. I have asked J to bring his saw tomorrow to cut up the lengths of skirting board that are on the front paving. J is just starting to paint the feature wall.
I had an email from a carriers company to say that they have my furniture and will be in touch about delivering it.
It was cold here last night and doesn't feel warm this morning.
Re the Corps where I am worshipping - they are talking about whether I will be able to help at the strawberry tea in June. I have been called a treasure by one of the leaders there.

Monday has started dull & overcast with a forecast high of 15°C with a light E wind & a low of 5°C Hopefully the sun will put in an appearance 🤞
suzeesu2000, that is very impressive doing most of your sewing by hand 🤩 How exciting that your “new” cousin has already been able to fill in a few blanks on your family tree 🥹
daisy_1571, I am quite partial to old black & white films - recently watched & enjoyed The Lavender Hill Mob 😌
Brambling, 🤔 I see a new puppy in your future 🔮 probably about 12 weeks old 😉 Joking aside, I do hope that your sister & BiL can take care of the puppy 🙏 Good luck with any future listings for your friend 🍀
suzeesu2000, you have perfectly described the reasons I love old black & white films 😊 I will add in a couple more reasons - no sex & no swearing. I recently watched Hobson’s Choice which had the added bonus of a strong female character 😊
StickyTheStickInsect, great work by both you & your cousin at your Dad’s house 👏 I have made a note of your new target for your Dad’s decluttering. Sorry to hear that your Blue Badge still hasn’t turned up 😔 I will keep everything crossed that it turns up soon 🤞
daisy_1571, well said 👏 The first thing that should be done is elocution lessons for the actors & actresses 🙊
Florenceem, hearing about your sons support for Nottingham Forest & how they moved to Nottingham, started me off on a flight of fancy wondering how all the Manchester United fans around the world could move to Manchester 🤣 I will keep my fingers crossed that the 2nd Tip run of the week will be enough to clear everything from your front garden 🤞 I was so delighted to hear This “Re the Corps where I am worshipping - they are talking about whether I will be able to help at the strawberry tea in June. I have been called a treasure by one of the leaders there.” 🥹 It is about time someone appreciated you 🥹
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible 😊 See you later 👋

Thank you very much for my flowers Mrs SD.
We did another couple of hours in the garden yesterday. All pots but 1 tended. Yes I have that many. A few things didn't make it through the winter but not important. A lot of this stuff I would like to get in the ground this year.I found another 3 pots that need to be returned to our old house. Not yet, Mr V has just had the car cleaned.😂 The removal people really didn't listen to instructions about the garden pots at all. There are probably some of mine left there.
I did try to finish Mr V off yesterday, moving big pots and furniture. We are having a day off today. I have another scan thing on my liver at a hospital in North Manchester. Great for getting waiting lists down but a nightmare if you don't have a car. As it is Mr V is fine today, I can hardly move!
Hangs head in shame. The new furniture is being delivered whilst we are out. I promise to curb the furniture habit… a bit.
The lovely Edwardian dressing table has gone to live in an air b n b in Buxton.
Mr V is a life long Forest fan. His friend has a good tale about meeting Brian Clough. I have written a short story about it. A chapter of my book idea which i have lost confidence in doing.
Better get going. Vx

vulpix - my 3 boys met Brian Clough and he took them into the club house and bought them burgers - it was in a national newspaper. My eldest son has the newspaper clipping framed on his wall.

@Florenceem I love the way your bestie's Corps ask if you would be able to help, and appreciate what you do for them. Personally I would be happy for you to join them, but maybe don't do as much as you did at your Corps? (who I think took great advantage of you). And I'm also loving the sound of your newly colourful home 😊

I live on the Nottinghamshire/derbyshire border and had a season ticket until DS was born 2018, I also went to away games seen loads of service stations and know were there are lots of nice pubs.
I do miss it apart from the cold weather
Done the bed sheets today as the weather has been okay today, phoned about a application form for a job today so I need to fill it in. Just wondered if I need to write it or I can do it on the tablet? As my handwriting isn't the best

Floss - it is a much quieter corps - no lunch club or food bank morning. They do give food out occasionally to deserving cases. No donation hopper outside - no sorting needed as stuff is not left outside. Only been 1 homeless person there in months. Not a large congregation - no children.
J did two coats on the feature wall. He was here for 5 hours. He will need to sort out the hall ceiling - think he has missed areas and they show as it was a shiny look and now is matt.
I had a text from the officer about petty cash reconciliation. When J left I popped there as I needed to go out for milk.
The Mother's day card sent by my eldest son from Funky Pigeon hasn't arrived.
I had a lovely pork sausage in a buttered roll when I came in after my shopping.
I got a tub of HM liver casserole out of the freezer for dinner tonight but it is not defrosted so will have egg & chips.

It’s been a beautiful day here today, blue sky and not too chilly.
Haven’t done any sewing today. Changed beds this morning, DH managed to change a ceiling lampshade for me, I did have to cuddle him REALLY tightly to ensure he didn’t topple over, don’t know about him, but I thoroughly enjoyed it 😋😋Thoroughly cleaned the kitchen. I do need to do a lemon and salt scrub on my chopping board tomorrow though, forgot that.
Had dentist this pm. On way back, popped into CS and got 4 perfect and normal wine glasses for £3, a big double layer top for £5 (just want the fabric) and a brand new metal baking dish for £3. Very pleased. Then hobbled across the road to the Coop and scored my bargain of the year I think. £78 worth of shopping for £38! They had just done the reductions so my friend and I filled a trolley with breads, rolls, pastries and two big bags of Fairy dishwasher tablets reduced form £12.60 to £6.30. I only buy dishwasher tabs when they are reduced so this lot will probably see me to Christmas I think. The new small freezer is chock full, can’t get so much as a single slice of bread in there now. We will not need bread items for months.
Tomorrow I will pay for today, so will definitely be a sewing day. May even indulge in some Miss Marples with Margaret Rutherford. As a note, @Mrs_Salad_Dodger mentioning Hobson Choice. I used to work in Denham when Sir John Mills lived there and he was an absolutely charming gentleman, always spoke, never rushed, and a genuine delight.
Have a good night all, sweet dreams xx
