Been a lovely day hare, suns been out, had the back door open with screens in place, neighbours have been literally silent: not so much as a car door shutting.
Made 3 long inco pads, got 4 more pinned and cut ready for tomorrow.
Dinner totally freezer for me, DH had freezer/fridge combo.
Put Frankie’s cool mat straight after hoovering this morning and the little toad then scooped it into a mound in his water bowl, he has such a thing about blimming water.
Am beyond happy to have a DNA contact on my DDaddys side. We spoke today and I am hopeful she will be able to give some meat to the bones of the great aunt whose name I have. DId a happy dance 💃
Hope everyone’s had a lovely day.
Love the blind @Florenceem cant wait til you’ve made the curtains, will look good I think.Petticoat pic for you @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, it’s terribly exciting😂
Have a good night all, sweet dreams xx

So. Beginning slowly to get my mojo back after having COVID and then pulling shoulder. I have been doing nothing for so long that the chores and frogs have built up and seem overwhelming. DH has been amazing and kept things ticking over but meals have become a bit slack any way back to meal planning and sorting through all of the clean clothes that have piled up on the spare bed. Grand sons coming next week so we need to find the beds and make them up! 🤣It's so easy to sort washing and throw in washing machine much harder to iron and put it all away!
I have sorted a load of stuff at the community club a lot of which has come home so that I can do it slowly. I have some storage boxes in the craft shed so am going to put my bits in bin bags and put craft group stuff in my storage boxes to get all of the lovely carrier bags out of my dining area. I also have a beautiful large hamper that I bought for my craft stuff that needs sorting .Hopefully I can finish the ironing pile and get that lot sorted tomorrow.

Daughter and granddaughter called here with my M & S purchases. They took the stuff in the porch so it is clear now.
Very cold tonight here - I have put the heating up.
I realised that I meant to order a console table for in the hall when I did the Ike. order. I need something to use for keys and the garage fob. Daughter who lives in Greenwich will pop and get one for me - she will be down here sometime. She is going to her brother in Nottingham for Easter.
Easter will be the first holiday time since I lost Mr F - not looking forward to it. Eldest daughter and her husband are coming down on Good Friday - staying in an air b n b. I said - next year they can have the guest room.
I have just ordered two clear mats for on the new laminate - for 2 swivel chairs in my craft room.
I am looking forward to having the Ike. units in place and getting stuff out of the old office upstairs. I have given myself until April 25th to do it. Then I can start emptying the craft storage room into the old office and J can start decorating. It is the smallest bedroom - just big enough for a single bed. I will have Timeless on three walls and probably the LO Potted Shrimp on the fourth. I really need to get into the other room of doom to see what colours the sofa bed and chaise longue are - I have forgotten. Then I can really make a decision about what LO paint goes where.

Congratulations to everyone who has made progress with things small and large. Lovely knitting and photos, @Liverpool_Anne . Was that a sparrowhawk? I hear a tawny owl (or two?) at night, sometimes, at the moment.
The plastic trays and lids are FINALLY in the recycling bin!
I have decluttered three items that have been in the bathroom for far too long and are now beyond usable.
Two candles decluttered from the living room, which will no longer light properly.
Took a few things to the charity shop - mainly lots of glass ramekins after eating far too many Gu desserts for my own good, haha.
My aunt and uncle are visiting tomorrow lunchtime. This is entirely unrelated to the huge tidying up that is going on … !!!!

I have brought stuff into the house from friends flat which will go onto freecycle either tomorrow evening or Monday (I'm out tomorrow) it's easier to do it from here to arrange collections. I created another bag to add to the CS bags and started a bag for the tip but they have stayed at hers. But it does mean a pile of stuff in my dining room, the cat is confused by a second scratching post and mistrustful of the cat carrier!
I have been gifted her Lalique collection (she had a friend who worked in their London shop so it's from the 80s/99s/00s) 10 small pieces of birds and fish to add to my larger figurine she gave me for my 60th. She told me she was leaving it to me anyway and doesn't want it in the care home, there is a figurine she's hoping to have room for.
I'm pretending I can't write my name in the dust here 🙀but have at least stacked my old towels on the spare bed for the vets.

Saturday was a bright sunny day but quite chilly with a high of only 12°C, low of 3°C & a light ENE breeze. DH has done a Tip run this morning so I am awarding him a medal 🏅 He also popped into B & Q to pick up compost & seed pots & trays.

My cousin R phoned this afternoon, I think she must be a witch as I was getting ready to email her 😉 She & her husband moved out of London just before Christmas & are both really enjoying living in the countryside. R got the job she applied for & her DH managed to transfer to an office closer to their new home so his commute is a lot easier & quicker 😊 I could hear the joy in her voice as she described how happy & contented she was in her new location, especially as she is only 15 minutes away from her younger brother & his family 🥹 We have been invited to a barbecue in May to celebrate her older son’s birthday 😊 I have finished knitting another hat. Dinner for DH & me was omelettes with a filling of mushroom, bacon, green pepper, fried lo boiled potatoes & cheese. DSis had poached eggs on toast. Wudupa. DSis & I watched another two episodes of Astrid in Paris.

GrannyKate, pleased to hear that the builders are doing a good job & that you will soon be in a position to decorate 😊 Great work sorting out emails & computer documents 👏 Hopefully Sox will enjoy his holiday as much as you enjoy yours 😉 DGS4 is a lucky young man - a new bike for his birthday & an early treat of McD ☺️ I hope DS1 gets some down time to go sightseeing whilst he is in South America 🤞
Good luck working out a budget Florenceem 🍀 Don’t forget that you should be able to get a single occupancy discount on your council tax 🤔
vulpix, well done on fitting the carpet in the bay window 👏 Excellent work by both you & MrV tidying & decluttering the driveway 👏 Please, please be very careful moving pots etc as you don’t want to injure yourself 🙏 Good luck with your furniture listings 🍀 You certainly didn’t hang about when deciding on new bedroom furniture 🙊
Deb4, excellent work sorting out DS’s room 👏 Perhaps you can persuade DS to declutter some toys to CS or maybe you could pack some & put them in another room to see if he notices 🤔 I seem to remember a ‘conversation’ about involving children with decluttering decisions as they might get upset if toys mysteriously disappear.
Florenceem, sorry to hear that you are upset about the constant phone calls from SEN chap & the Nationwide.. statements 🥺
oceanspirit, well done on returning the library book & keeping up with the weeding 👏 Fingers crossed that the 6 part frog can be nudged along 🤞
suzeesu2000, a busy day of sewing 😊 Great work by you & DH eating down contents of freezer & fridge 👏 Thanks for the pic ….. I was excited to see the petticoat 😊 Hopefully the DNA contact will have lots of useful information to share with you 🙏
Soontobeoap, sorry to hear about the bout of Covid 😔 butpkeased to hear that you are finally recovering 😊 Good luck with the ironing & sorting out both the community centre & your crafting stuff 🍀
Florenceem, you are certainly keeping busy 😊 Sending gentle cwtches 🤗
Excellent decluttering Yorkie1 👏 As to This “My aunt and uncle are visiting tomorrow lunchtime. This is entirely unrelated to the huge tidying up that is going on…!!!!” I believe you 😉
Excellent work decluttering your friend’s flat Brambling 👏 What a wonderful gift from your friend 🥹 Lalique pieces are beautiful 🤩

Morning all - a quick post. Had barbeque at DS2s then came home and fell asleep on settee for 3 hours so I then didn't get to sleep again until 2. Sox decided that purring loudly on the other pillows was a good way to ensure I still got up at 6.30am. I need to wrap some small gifts for DGD4 on Tuesday. Took a box of soft drinks to DS2s - they were left over from Christmas - he was pleased to find two cans of lager in the box. I want the box back so must remember to reclaim it today before he fills it with something else.
Decorator is coming at 10.30 to give me a quote for bedroom 3 and inner hall. I stripped a wall of the horrible wallpaper in the outer hall area yesterday - ached all over last night which is probably whay I fell asleep on settee. I'm hoping to tackle some frogs and some gardening today. There will be Sunday dinner at DS2s. I suspect I will have to dispose of piles of old carpet and wood currently on the drive. Garage is a bit of a muddle as joiner still has wood in there - not sure which bits he wants to use. Then there will be a large bill to pay. I'll get a quote for the outer hall and chase up the other joiner about the doors. I need one with glass between the two hall areas where there are currently two glass doors, a bathroom and toilet door, a living room door and cupboard door - I can only do one or two at a time.

Did a couple of hours on the side garden. Had a battle with brambles. Came indoors before I over did it. look at me being sensible.
Someone is coming for the dressing table later. I need to empty it and find a home for the contents of the drawers.
DS has been in A&E, a nasty cut above his eye, rugby related. He is getting too old to play but loves it so.
I need to crack on, lots of stuff to move before Mr V goes to work later. The furniture on the landing from the little bedroom will have to go in the bathroom to enable the new wardrobe up the stairs.Opticians cabinet and small Chinese drawers putting in the dining room, ditto. I also want to make the most of the weather and move some more pots around on the drive.

Been to Church with bestie. I was given a beautiful hand crafted card of thanks for supporting the corps.
I am going to tackle the drawers upstairs after having something to eat and changing - I wore casual uniform today as I couldn't find my new SA blouse and hadn't done a whites wash this week.
I have a ready meal fish pie out of the freezer for today's dinner.
I have volunteered to make muffins for Tuesday's Lent course.
