I had another bad night but my new mattress is very comfy.
J arrived at 9 and spent 6 hours here painting. He primed the new wood then did an undercoat. The doors in my bedroom are now top coated and finished.
I have booked Joshua for next Tuesday - carpet is being laid on 9 March and I want help to move my bed back into the bedroom. No news about the new headboard yet.
I carried on with cleaning the kitchen and putting stuff back in there I have some floor space in my craft room now.
I have had a day at home today.

trying to remember which incredibly large financial organisation I worked for where there was some whistleblowing and the CEO marched into the HR whistleblowing info office and demanded to be told who was responsible. This was a week after the whole company (10s of thousands of us) had to do our whistleblowing training which emphasised how very safe it was to highlight issues in the company without any comeback. Guess the CEO was exempt from that training.

Hello chums.
Not been posting as have had some RL things going on, but I have been reading.
2 weeks ago my darling mum was found in her flat in a dreadful condition. She had been left sitting on the side of her bed all day. She couldn’t stand up to even walk to the loo. She was taken to hospital by lovely paramedics who were incredibly kind with her. Long story short, she has broken both ankles and suspect a fracture to the lower tibia too. They have discovered she has a bone disease which can lead to bones breaking easier. Poor love is quite confused. And my heart is breaking. I absolutely adore my mum. She is 103 and, for 10 years after my daddy passed, it was just her and me, we are very close. So, she has been bed bound for the past 2 weeks. You know where I live but mum is on the mainland and, being housebound disabled myself, I can’t get to her.
We’re assured she will be discharged to a nursing facility for proper assessment as soon as a bed becomes available. Then we are looking to move her into residential care. She has previously expressed a wish to go into residential care.
Everything has changed, and not for the better, since my days working in Social Services. It does NOT make anything easier.I am trying to deal with whatever mum needs while also keeping my feet on the ground. So, today I went through the pantry shelves and checked all dates and properly considered if we will genuinely use some things. Consequently I now have 3 bags full for Foodbank.
All laundry has been done, dried, ironed and put away. Yesterday I collected all my dish cloths up and deposited them in a bucket of Vanish and boiling water, they are now sparkly white again - I can’t be doing with dingy dishcloths. Currently hanging on the airer til the morning when I can fold and put away.Sorry for War & Peace length post. Been lovely to read what you’ve all been doing over the last 2 weeks.
Sweet dreams all xx

@suzeesu2000 truly sorry about your mum. We have had quite a few years of dealing with my husband’s elderly relatives. falls and injuries can have a major effect on their mental wellbeing. After my husband’s aunt fell and broke her hip the geriatric consultant said he didn’t think she would make it. But my son said elderly people often get delirium when they are stressed. Sure enough she got better. She is now in a residential home but she is so much better than she was in hospital. I hope your mum starts to feel better soon and you find somewhere kind to look after her. The staff at the residential home we have used are fantastic and totally lovely.
