Wednesday has been a bright sunny day with clear blue skies. The forecast was for a high of 17°C (light SSW wind had no effect on the temperature 👏) & a low of 9°C. The HH waste wheelie bin has been emptied but not the recycling wheelie bin - everything crossed for tomorrow 🤞as it has been 4 weeks since it was last emptied 😖 I have finished another hat & cleared down a few more programmes from the planner. Dinner was fried chicken pieces, boiled new potatoes & peas. Wudupa.
382 - 383 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled

Right back in action although a little slow. Trying to finish the living room whilst starting to deep clean rest of house. Always needs doing after we have spent a lot of time decorating one room. New snuggle chair ordered for living room. Hopefully it will stop anyone needing to sit on the floor when family comes. DH has set up his new radio given for Christmas and wants a bedside table for it! As he has a built in wardrobe next to his bed that is near on impossible so I have ordered a small wooden cube bedside thing. Easy to move for bed making and cleaning. His solution was a fixed shelf on the wall but it wouldn't have worked. Going to start deep clean of Kitchen today after a thorough tidy up in there. Have taken up painting with acrylics since our cruise and to be honest have made a bit of a mess in dining room but it has kept me going doing a bit a day whilst I have been poorly. Will move it all down to craft shed when it gets a bit warmer.
@Florenceem look after yourself. Hugs to everyone who needs one. It is really good to come out of the tlc carriage and start getting on with things. It is nearly March and I am just waking up!🤣 Still spring cleaning time so perfect timing.
Back with update. Have spent 2 hours this afternoon cleaning out cupboards. A few bits of packaging thrown out and 3 cupboards cleaned organized and ready to go. That's the easy side of the kitchen done. Have top and bottom ones the other side + 3 drawers. Feeling good though. At least I have started. Also removed a nasty stain from mud off of a suitcase on the stairs carpet.

bought a new recycling bin yesterday as our old one has so many cracks in the bottom I keep expecting it to disperse it's contents the next time I move it. This is our own bin that we keep outside the kitchen door to make tidying easy and when it's full (or more accurately overflowing) the side gate is opened and the bin taken to the front of the house where the official council bin resides.
so having bought a new one I was trying to figure out how to dispose of the old one. I had considered dropping it into our normal waste bin but thought that might be frowned on . Then I thought I could likely crack it into 2 or 3 pieces to make it easier for the bin trucks to crunch on. OH has declared it should be taken to the tip which means going in his monster vehicle. I mentioned the mankiness of it (the slugs love it) and he's said he'll just use all his empty cola boxes to line the floor of the vehicle so it doesn't leave a mess. I've no doubt that he'll end up with a couple of resident slugs but if his plan is put into action (how likely??) it will mean tidying a corner of the garage where he thinks simply dropping cola boxes is perfectly fine.

Bestie phoned me - could I get some sleeping bags from my corps as she had a homeless person and no supplies. I toddled round and got some for her.
Went to Lid. to get my free cake and a bit of shopping.
Not long home when J the builder phoned - could he come and measure up for my new sink in the utility area. I measured before he arrived so I was already looking at the size I wanted. When J arrived - I then had to choose a mixer tap. Prices have gone up - £250 for a sink top and tap.
Bestie came to collect the sleeping bags and took two bags of stuff for the charity shop.
J went to collect the new items and has then been working in the garage.
I cleaned the kitchen windows - so difficult to reach with the sink there. I went out and did the outside windows - so much better - they were really grubby. I carried on cleaning in the kitchen - the lights and cooker hood were next followed by checking that all the paint was off the tiles.
I deep cleaned the microwave and kenwood and put them back in their cleaned area. Still lots to do in the kitchen buy I have had enough for today.
J is still here - My grandson J will call on his way home to put out my bins.

The builder was here until nearly 6.30 but I have a new sink top and taps. He hasn't done the magnetic catches in the wardrobes yet. There is an area by the garage door that needs attention and I have asked him to get a new push down system for the bathroom sink.
My garage is a mess as I had to empty the shelf under the sink. I have a very large cardboard box to dispose of. Cardboard recycling is not until next Friday.
J - grandson will use the sink to rinse his paint brushes. He is not coming here to paint the wardrobe doors until Saturday.
Decluttered today - sink/draining board, sink food strainer and mixer tap plus more cash.

Mrs SD , I so love your cheerleading and how you know just what to say to all of us.
Had kept abit of plastic that I found and realised today it was off a large pan lid so both are out along with some packaging. Have an eye on a few things to go and will try snd take to the cs before cousin goes so I can't use them as an achievement and let myself off the hook :)

Thursday was an overcast & cooler day with a forecast high of 13°C (feeling 7° colder due to a brisk SW wind) & a low of 11°C. DH woke me up at 08:00 to let me know that he could hear a wagon, yes you’ve guessed, the recycling chaps FINALLY turned up after 4 weeks 🥳 The close looks a lot more respectable now 😮💨 Our recycling bin hasn’t remained empty for long as I have added the office recycling (385) I have a vague menu plan & have written a shopping list. DH & DSis left 13:55. I have dealt with my mail & emptied the shredder (386) When DH & DSis got back I put the shopping away. Then DH & I finished the hm soup. More programmes cleared from the planner. Dinner was from fridge & freezer - lo cottage pie & cheesy pasta which DH & I had, whilst DSis made herself beans on toast. Wudupa. Rained just before midnight 😞

dND, sorry to hear This “I have the feeling that I might be getting another round of whatever it was that floored me for the first 6 months of last year. Doctors couldn’t find anything specific and it got better.” 😔 As you have noticed this early can I suggest that you visit your GP again as they might have a better grasp of your symptoms this year 🙏 Well done on getting better at “don’t put it down, deal with it” 👏 as it is surprising how much difference that one action makes ☺️ Good luck with your continental knitting 🍀
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏
Lovely, chatty post vulpix ☺️ Hopefully as you unpack the last bits & pieces you will find the old mounted microphone 🤞
Florenceem, good luck moving all your craft stuff into the garage 🍀
TC77, looking forward to seeing the photo of your newly covered sofa 😊
Soontobeoap, pleased to hear that you are finally on the mend ☺️ An excellent start to your spring cleaning 👏
Brie, hopefully OH (rather than you) will tidy the garage when he takes the old recycling bin to the tip 🤞
Florenceem, great work cleaning the kitchen 👏 I do hope that you are remembering to eat to keep your strength up 🙏 Fingers crossed that J the builder finishes fitting the new sink 🤞
Excellent work dealing with frogs, GrannyKate 👏
Florenceem, I have that exact same tap fixture in my kitchen 😉
TC77, I am blushing at such a lovely compliment ☺️ Well done on identifying items to be decluttered 👏
We have had more showers overnight. Oops, just noticed the time so am off to bed. Sleep tight 😴

ARRG… Time/life has run away with itself… Apologies for being absent, didn’t even manage to get on the TLC cabin, have sort of caught up, though not retained any of what I wished to reply to!😑
Attempting to pick myself & my mojo off the floor as body currently is not wanting to commit to being helpful or kind in any way!😖
Have at least managed to get two large bags out the house full of books and clothes, went to a local charity.
Last week we took a load to the tip (card, general detritus, stuff from mums) and a load to the scrappy (old radiator, cable, battery)
I’m giving myself a day off as it’s my Mama’s Birthday 🥳 celebrating by taking her for a gentle wander in the local garden centre (mobility isn’t fab so it’ll be a slow amble) I am just grateful that we get to celebrate another year round the sun for her as she was told many years ago she’d be very lucky to reach 60.. Well she beat that and more so 😝 “them”.. and 🧁 for all! 💗

Feeling good. I just have under sink cupboard and mug cupboard to do in kitchen. DH is happy to do medicine cupboard as that is his department! Lots of old kids drinking bottles and weird things from utencil drawer binned. I didn't even know what some of the things were for? 🤣.
February wasn't a complete wash out after all. 😊
