Sister didn't make the lunch - had to have a meeting with the school about nephew.
Bestie LOVED the gift, she was telling me she's still got the original Roland but he's wrapped up and hidden away cos he's so old!
Back to work, while I was out had some deliveries so need to get the dog food put away and my new noticeboard put up in the dining room.

Mrs SD, it was going off & wouldn't be stopped as they cannot be opened to remove batteries. He'd checked the house and it was all OK, so he ordered me the new one which arrived the following day.

@Willowtree222 I did the tip run. I don't know why i dread it so much, but I procrastinate.
Me too - and I know I'm doing it which makes it even more ridiculous. 🤣
@Florenceem Do you think J could send me round a tiny bit of his energy? I'm exhausted just reading what he gets done in a day. 😁
Knit and natter done this morning so nothing much else today. I was so cold; didn't help that the wool shop where the knit and natter is held was having their flat roof repaired so doors were open and the room was so much colder than usual. Net result was I chilled to the bone going there, while there and coming back. I had lunch and put the electric blanket on while having lunch and then went to bed to try and get warm again. 🥶🧊
General rubbish is due out tonight so I'd better get that together. Still more sorting going on here, mainly involving yarn and Wips but a bag of kitchen bits and bobs left by the previous owner have now been sorted. There's a bag for the charity shop, a couple of items I want to see if I'll use and a lot of old, rusty or broken bits all segregated into their various recycling categories. I must do a tip run soon! Dxx

Glad I am not the only one who puts it off. It is strange why, I know I need to do it, so why not just get on with it. Thanks for the medal Mrs SD X

The scrap men came for the filing cabinets at 7.30.
J arrived at 8. He put the first coat of green on the bedroom wall - love it.
We didn't hear them but council came and took the chest freezer. So it was a bit clearer on the drive until J and I put out the chest of drawers and 2 night tables. J took the base off the office chair to help R to get it in his car tomorrow. I had phoned R and asked if he would do a tip run - booked for 11 tomorrow.
I had a long phone call arranging house & contents insurance but that is done and paid for now.
A SA friend delivered my weekly mags.
A freegler came for the hair cutting kit.
J put a second coat on the green wall after his lunch.
I started to clean and tidy in the garage. J carried all the bags of paper & card and cardboard boxes up to the front of the gate. Not worth putting out my recycling bin as only a little in there. Without being asked - J put out my next door neighbour's bin.
J had to paint the wall inside the built in wardrobe and then do gloss on the woodwork in the room.
J put a bag of carpet bits out for R's tip run - I don't think he will get it all in his car.
I got stuff ready for Bestie's SA charity shop.
I needed milk so popped out after J left. I got my freebies in Lid. Decided to get another tin of emulsion ready for the next room.
While I was out Bestie's hubby took the stuff in my porch. However he left behind a 1941 walking stick made of bamboo. We were given this by a friend whose father was a prisoner on the Burma railway. It can go to auction.
I found more stuff from Mil's flat in the garage. I even found 2 maybe 3 items that I will keep. Photos tomorrow.
So J has decorated the kitchen, cloakroom and bedroom in 4 days. I have paid his earnings to his mum as J doesn't have a good idea of money due to his special needs. Mum will put it in his savings.

The 6 part frog has been nudged along. Another frog solved itself.
Made a start on the reading pile - was 5 months behind with it. Of course whilst I am dealing with this the emails will build back up again.
More food items UU. Just a couple of 2026 tins to go now and what’s left is 2027 and beyond. A few packets and spices are OOD or close to BB but should be caught up with them by the end of the year.

Managed to take four bags and two boxes of books to the library. Working on another bag for the book sale tomorrow. Keeping my email down to under 50 to work on. Had the x-rays done this morning for the surgeon's visit next week. They did x-rays of my neck also so they will be attacking both problems I hope. We have had torrential rains this week for four days but they only lasted for several hours at a time. The one Tuesday night included lightning and thunder with a little hail on the side. But we are back to being just cloudy with patches of sunshine for the rest of the month.
Have been decluttering in the living room and can actually now see that there are two more chairs in in there. Almost to the point where we can get the bookcases in. Maybe next month.

Thursday continued: When DH & DSis got back I put all the shopping away immediately 🙂 We had a couple of light showers late afternoon. I never did get around to sorting out my paperwork 😞 Dinner was individual shop bought pies with mash & baked beans. Wudupa. As an aside, congratulations to our men’s Curling Team for getting through to the Gold Medal match 🥳
354 - 355 Kitchen recycling, plastic bottle - recycled
356 Kitchen detritus binned
_Dolly_Rocker_, shame that your sister couldn’t come to lunch 😞 I hope that the school meeting wasn’t anything serious 🤞
Floss, a relief to hear that everything was OK 😥
dND, I think several of us could do with a bit of J’s energy 😉 or at least the ability to hire him 😉 Sorry to hear that you got so cold at Knit & Natter, & that it took so long to get warm again 😔 Good luck sorting your yarn & completing the wips 🍀 Hopefully you will soon have enough sorted to make a Tip run worthwhile 🤞
BlueJ94, hopefully setting a timer for half hour was a successful method of getting some decluttering done 🙏
Willowtree222, you are very welcome 🙂
Just noticed the time so will finish the cheerleading tomorrow. Sleep tight everyone 😴
