i am just back from driving my mum to the south of France. She has a house down there but its a super long journey to travel on her own, 900 plus miles. She doesn’t have wifi and signal is rubbish so I spent a couple of days deleting emails and photos. I don’t know how many but there were a lot. Now I have a little bit of storage space on my icloud. Flew back on Monday and managed to pick up a cold.

Oh my it is so cold! The dogs don't care though so my fingers and toes are about to drop off with frostbite.
I'm WFH today and tomorrow and no dog walks booked so this just means more time for pottering and getting stuff done at home between work and so many meetings.
Today I hung a lovely Billy Connelly print, a wee flower fox picture, Glasgow skyline print and a lovely picture of my granny and grandad up.
Cleared the dining table of all the junk that just accumulates there, I have no one but myself to blame.
I'll take B&L on their last walk around 5:30ish and when I get in I'll cosy down under a blanket with a book.

Evening chums, DGS were due to get the Fast Cat over from Pompey but it was cancelled because or rough seas, so they had to get the normal ferry which is longer as coming back home there is a huge detour to get back to Ryde because of road works .
They are supposed to be open by April but with all the torrential rain I can't see the chaps getting it done in 12 weeks. You can't lay new water pipes in torrential rain :( I feel quite sorry for the chaps who are doing their best, and everyone is complaining about the hold ups but its been extremely wet since Christmas very few dry days at all
It really was sheeting down again today, No earthly chance of Ben getting out into the garden for this half term , hopefully by Easter it may have dried out a bit
Luckily I'd made the soup this morning plus some biscuits so they soon warmed up . Even the dogs don't want to go out in this and I don't blame them
Stan the greyhound hurt his paw last week when running on the beach, and my DD got him a little surgical sock and strapped it on as he kept worrying it and it wasn't healing over. A dollop of Germolene and his little sock stops him from keep licking it and opening it up again. I have to distract him with a biscuit as he doesn't like it being dressed, but he's ok as long as I sit and chat to him and he gets a biscuit for behaving :)
The boys are delighted to be here, and I can smell my son-in-laws lemon and garlic stuffed chicken cooking
I peeled a pile of spuds this morning, so the boys will soon polish off some roasties and veg. I think Ben eats when his girlfriend comes round but doesn't bother just for himself and Jack seems not to bother much either although teaching and living at a boarding school he does at least get a cooked meal at lunchtime. But he loves a good home cooked feed bless him.
right just been called as dinner is ready
Keep warm and dry if you can chums,

J arrived at 8 and got straight on with the decorating. He sanded the filled spots down and put a coat of white emulsion on the ceiling.
The blinds chap arrived at 9 - I couldn't chose a design for the bedroom as a very limited selection in greens. I did chose a design for the kitchen - a floral that picks out the shade of pink on the walls. I am going to have a roller blind in the kitchen and roman blinds in the bedrooms. Poor man had to fight his way to the window in the old office as my bed is in there and lots of stuff from the bedroom. I had plenty of choice in the blues and picked a lovely design. Chap told me Roman blinds are more expensive than roller ones.
I got the chap to measure up for vertical blinds in my craft room downstairs - not chosen a design for there.
I will pop in the shop and look at the many designs in there. I will get the estimate in a couple of days.
While J was doing another coat on the ceiling as it is textured - I started to move stuff in the garage so we could get the old chest freezer outside ready for collection tomorrow. We dragged the freezer outside - Mr F used to say - Oh dear - I would ask what had happened - he had dropped a teaspoon over the back of the freezer - we found 5!
R called here - he is better now. I said we will book a meal after a Sunday service in the village. There will be 6 of us - I hope. It will be a thank you for all the support they gave me while Mr F was ill.
I phoned the builder. J had removed the stair gates - builder came to collect them.
J put a coat of Timeless emulsion on 3 walls in the bedroom and then we had lunch. J also cut a bit of the carpet off around the edges of the room ready for painting the skirting boards.
I emptied the 2 filing cabinets in the garage and contacted the scrap man. J helped me to get the filing cabinets outside - looking like Steptoe's yard out there at the moment.
J put a second coat of paint on the walls - I like the colour - it is better than stark white.
I had a call from the disability aids people - they will collect the foot support on Monday.
I took photos and listed more on Freegle.
I have started to empty the built in wardrobe in the bedroom.
I had a day indoors today but still done nearly 6000 steps.
Raining hard here now.

@London_1 that reminds me of the pooch we had when I was little. He cut his paws a few times and also used to worry at the wound. My mum was also out with the germolene, elastoplast tape and my socks! Her reasoning was that they fitted him too. Sometimes I got the sock back to wear again!!

A few more things decluttered, but hoping to do quite a bit more in the next couple of days. If it's not used it's going.

I enjoyed my woodland walk this afternoon although it was brisk to say the least once you got out of the shelter of the trees. Our last walk was so wet we actually abandoned it half way round. Plasterer/builder came round and is sending quote. Hopefully electrician will get back to me soon. I need to pick up cat's flea/worm stuff from vet tomorrow and voile curtains on Friday pm. True to their word the bank where I was closing an 'empty' savings account transferred 1p to my main current account. Suspect that cost rather more than 1p to process. Nothing to do much tomorrow - DGCs coming late afternoon. No new decluttering to count.

Reporting my modest decluttering, sold a jug and packaged eith newspape, bubble wrap, box and bag so counting as 3. Been in the office today , frogs building up with fridge still not working after Tuesdays repair and heating problems, so need to send photos and emails , and need to book stuff for holiday.
Popped into upholsterer to choose braiding - not good at imagining what things will be like but think sofa will be ok and love the stool. Last lot of furniture from my dad's will be here in a couple of weeks so getting rid of bedside tables hopefully.
Dd1 telling me I need to get rid of everything basically ( except a few things she wants me to keep) so abit anxious about her coming round in a few days time. I'm focusing on checking she doesn't want things so can not use that as an excuse when I get to things. I thought she may want bedding when she moves as may be space for guests but said as she has a summer and winter duvet and a blanket will do her and b/f and guests. I may need to take this approach more..
Off to do frogs and an early night. Hope everyone is staying warm ... so bitterly cold.

Hi all, well the latest manifestation of the upgrade appears to have reduced the font size on my tablet and I can't seem to change that, very annoying. Also I realised when I looked at my last post it had bullet points, not showing when typing, only after it had posted, again annoying but hey ho I suppose it is what it is.
Today I spent quite a long time dealing with a phone issue. It started off with a call from the Indian subcontinent allegedly from ee offering me a cheaper phone contract. As I am out of contract and have ee through bt I wasn't initially suspicious but as the call progressed I became suspicious, questions they were asking for verification seemed odd, asking for information they already had such as my email address. When I queried this and was told it was for verification I said but you called me so you know who I am. I was told I would get another phone call shortly, which I did and then was told I would get an email to tell me what time tomorrow I would be getting the package delivered. What package? What are you sending me? To be honest I was very suspicious by then and just said no I don't want it. Then I phoned bt and spoke to a lovely man in Middlesbrough who said no it was a scam but went through all the stuff I have and got me an upgraded package for less than I am currently paying 😁. We had a long chat about security, online banking and football 😂. I must say it's one of the reasons I stay with them, they always have such friendly customer service people 😂. So that all took a couple of hours but I felt much better afterwards.
Apart from that I have 1 LDFPA and another load on the maiden, a session of ironing done. A minor contretemp with OH about laundry, apparently I don't give a minute when it needs sorting so I am no longer responsible for dealing with any of OH's laundry at any stage of the process 😁. Fine by me but lets see how long it last 😂.
The rest of the day was taken up with watching the winter Olympics and knitting 😂. I am enjoying it but I really need to get on with sorting out the kitchen so that will be my priority for tomorrow. I might have to record the Olympics 😂
@oceandreamer re the log burner, yes get a sweep. I have mine done and I also have the burner serviced. I don't use mine all the time so it only needs doing about every 2 years but as @mehefin said I have a co monitor near. They are well worth the money and do save lives. I also have one near my boiler.
Right time for bed. Hugs to everyone who would like one
