re-olbas oiled the cupboard under the sink - no more mouse droppings so fingers crossed
declutter #33 pet drawer - best find, yet another usb socket (don't ask what it was doing in the pet drawer!)

J arrived at 8 - he put a second coat on the kitchen walls. Then he put a coat of potted shrimp on the cloakroom walls,
The metal cupboard was collected by a Freegler
I got J to help me move the bed and mattress from my bedroom into the office. The mattress was so heavy and awkward. The bed came into two halves so was easy to shift. My back hurt after moving the mattress.
No one had asked for the office chair so J carried it outside where it sits with the desk pieces.
Nobody has asked for the chest of drawers so I think that will be going outside soon too. I will have to ask R to do another tip run.
Oh the dust bunnies when we shifted the bed!
J filled places in the bedroom before having lunch. Then he put a second coat of paint on the cloakroom walls. He was here for 5 hours today.
I got a bus to the next town as our Nationwi.. closes on a Tuesday. I am getting a phone call about my house insurance on Thursday.
It was very cold waiting for a bus. I visited a blinds shop - chap is coming to measure up tomorrow.
Next I went to the carpet shop and chose a colour for stair carpet. I have gone for a warm brown. I asked about laminate - the price has really gone up. A chap is coming on Friday to measure the downstairs floor area.
I took photos and listed more items on Freegle.
J will be back at 8 tomorrow morning.
We need to get the large chest freezer out of the garage and onto the drive ready for collection on Thursday. I am expecting more dust bunnies.

Tuesday has started bright, dry & sunny but cold with a forecast high of 7°C (feeling 2° colder due to a NW wind) & a low of 2°C. Currently watching heats 3 & 4 of the Women’s Mono-bob. The window cleaners (S & J) have just turned up 🥳 which is a bonus as we have a dead pigeon trapped in the guttering at the back of the house 🤢 I have asked S to remove the pigeon & have provided a few plastic bags to wrap it in & put in our HH waste wheelie bin. We are now pigeon free ……. at least the guttering is 😅 DH spent some time in the garage sorting out items for the Tip - already counted + sorted out rubbish from shed & garden box which I will count as 5. I watched more Winter Olympics including the Speed Skating Pursuit competition & the Men’s Freeski Big Air competition 🤩 Dinner was mostly from the fridge & freezer - DH had shepherds pie & green beans, I had leftover spaghetti with tomato pesto sauce & DSis had egg, bacon & chips. Wudupa.
333 - 338 Kitchen recycling, plastic bottle, glass jar, glass bottle, 0.5” paper, drinks cans - recycled
339 - 345 Kitchen & lr detritus, 5 garden detritus - binned

I went through the whole of my (hanging) wardrobe yesterday - result is a huge pile for V1nted, which i shall count when sold (or donated if unsold) and a large pile (but smaller) for CS - I need to count them before adding to totals.
Various items also relocated back to the garage.
Thanks for the congrats re weighhloss, Mrs SD - although it's not as impressive as it initially sounds, as 4lbs of it was Xmas gain, so not 'true' gain - but i set my 26lb target from my weight at the start of the year, so it is included for the purposes of this thread 😁
Also decluttered hair and money at the hairdresser...

152. Bag of used coffee pods out out for recycling, caddy washed and sanitised!
153. Too big top with a hole in binned (material too shiny for cutting up for rags) I did cut off the very pretty 4 buttons, though

I went out last night to see Wuthering Heights last night as we had to read it for one of my book groups. I enjoyed it far more than I expected. I had to put the actual book out of my head while watching it as it left the second half out and glossed over a lot of the difficult issues, but it was watchable. There were a few women crying at the end.
I am getting my house deep cleaned today and so I had to move the bed downstairs and I cleared some of the surfaces. It is making me realise I have far more than I thought.
I didn’t deep clean and declutter my wardrobes the other day as I was too tired so I have that job to do. I am taking two donation bags and a picture to a shop in Southend after they leave.19 -
Basic calendar/notebook I've been using for work and doodles full up. Rescued a few doodles and checked there was nothing confidential then rest ripped up and in recycling. New notebook started.
Two uncomfortable bras out to the clothes bank as well as two cushions (they do take cushions, I checked) that I realised just migrate from my bed to the armchair at night and then back again when I want to use the armchair. Did keep a third one (my favourite) for decoration.
Broke a glass commuter cup while cleaning out the kitchen cupboards. I won't replace it so that's an out.
In - hooks for the back of the kitchen doors so I can hang my dustpan and waterbottle and wire colander up - they're just stick on ones but that's fine for very light things. Saucers to go under pots for new plants (did I mention the new plants? I can't remember when I last posted).
A secondhand book I need to read and discard.
Currently have 3 things out net, which means 9 to go.
Fashion on the Ration 2026 - 31.5 coupons remaining (rolling over 1.5 from last year)
April Grocery Challenge - £134.93 of £250 spent

@Oceandreamer Please, please ,please get a sweep in to clear your chimney, and if you haven't got one, invest in a CO monitor before you relight it. I have one in my kitchen next to the coal fired Rayburn and it has undoubtedly saved my life when it went of very early one morning. The external smokebox hatch had fallen off and the easterly wind was blowing the stove fumes back into the house. I was very lucky! had a ginormous headache the next day and was violently sick, but I survived.
CO (Carbon Monoxide) is like electricity- you can't see it, smell it or taste it, but it will kill you!

Wednesday is overcast & very cold 🥶 Forecast is for a high of 6°C (feeling 6° colder due to a stiff ESE wind) & a low of 3°C I was up & dressed before 09:00 😉 now I just need to stay awake 🤞 The HH waste wheelie bin has been emptied on time. I have my first cuppa & will get straight into cheerleading before I fall further behind
vulpix, it sounds like your medical procedure went well & that you are fully recovered 🙏 Good work using up toiletries 👏 & well done on almost completing the front bedroom redecorating & refurbishment 👏
Floss, good luck with both your wardrobe sort out & your packing for your holiday in Malta 🍀
Florenceem, it does sound like you have found a great place to buy your carpet ☺️
Liverpool_Anne, This “….lots of hair decluttered yesterday, no more burst couch 😂” had me in stitches 🤣 Hopefully your builder will be able to help you make your decision re the glass splash back 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏
Excellent decluttering crazybeautiful 👏
oceandreamer, I will join in with everyone else & suggest that you get a chimney sweep in 🙏
DundeeDoll, pleased to hear that there is still no sign of your unwanted visitor returning 😊 Great decluttering 👏
Florenceem, you & J had a very busy Tuesday 🤩 More great decluttering by you 👏. & brilliant work by J - another Gold ⭐️ on its way for him 😊
greent, great work going through your wardrobe 👏 & good luck with your listings 🍀 I will keep my fingers crossed for many quick sales 🤞 Excellent decluttering 👏
Wednesday2000, I admire your ability to separate yourself from the book whilst watching a film 👏 as I always find it difficult when it comes to watching the film version or TV serial version of a book/s ☹️ Much as I enjoyed the TV version of Game of Thrones - “spoiler alert” I am still a bit upset that they completely killed off Catelyn Stark despite her being resurrected in the books 😞 Hope the deep cleaning goes well today ☺️
Nice to see you diminua 👋 Steady progress towards your target 👏
mehefin, wise advice. Thank goodness you had the CO monitor as that sounds like a very close call 😰
All caught up. Hope everyone has as good a day as possible 🤞meanwhile I have plenty of cwtches available for anyone who would like one 🤗🤗🤗

OH was worried I had just about decluttered myself due to some confusion about my meds. Had a real wobbly moment and we packed me off to bed for 12 hours of sleep. Feeling better this morning and off to declutter some of my hair this afternoon, assuming I can find my way around road closures and flooded roads.

Quiet week here but that will change once DGCs are back tomorrow. Doing things but very slowly. I changed underbed linen storage into some new boxes I had purchased. I need a few more but will get them over time. I pottered around in PJs this morning but it is freezing outside. I braved the weather to refill three hanging baskets with primroses and pansies I had already bought. There are some left to do but my fingers were so cold they hurt. I have chased up the plasterer and electrician as I am stuck until they get to do the work. I am going to contact a decorator as well as I find it too hard and DS2 has loads of jobs at his own place. I got a cool temporary pleated blind for bedroom 3 as DGS4 will probably be sleeping there some nights whilst work is ongoing.
Sox is in a strange mood - keeps going in and out and miaowing for attention and treats. He doesn't like the cold and is curled up in his enclosed bed now.
215 Voile curtains ordered for my bedroom - I have a new double curtain pole to go up. Collect Friday.
216 Cushion cover in CS bag - it was my mums but doesn't really go here. Pad used for cushion in bedroom 3
217 Two underbed storage bags in bag for DD - DGD1 uses them at the horse yard for blankets etc.
218 Three hanging baskets emptied and refilled
219 Empty (although they said there is 1p in it) bank account closed
220 More survey money downloaded for my bathroom fund
221 Sox flea/worm stuff ordered and vaccination booked for end of March
I am off on a woodland walk at 2pm - I have put on several layers of clothes including thermal undies.
