Wednesday continued: Now feeling 8° colder due to a strong ESE wind 🥶 Another cheap blender has bitten the dust & has been added to the Tip pile (346) DH & I have had a bowl of hm soup & just a small amount left as a starter for the next one……. 18:00 the rain has started & the wind has shifted to E but only feeling 7° colder 😉 DH spent about 15 minutes in the garage tidying but had to admit defeat as it was freezing 🥶 I am now fast forwarding through a lot of the Winter Olympics as it is mostly curling & ice hockey 😞 but I have finished another hat & now have 3 for the CS. I created another small space in the freezer by removing a container of cooked beef chunks which I warmed through in gravy & we had with mash, frozen broccoli & cauliflower. Wudupa.

Brie, sorry to hear about the “wobbly moment” 😔 although pleased to hear that you feel better after a long sleep 😥
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Being snuggled up in an enclosed bed like Sox, sounds like the ideal way to stay warm 😉 Keeping everything crossed that the plumber & electrician get back in touch soon & complete their work so that you can organise a decorator 🤞 I do hope you managed to stay warm on your woodland walk 🙏
Green_hopeful, 900 miles is a long drive 😧 I just hope that the south of France is a lot warmer for your Mum 🙏
_Dolly_Rocker_I do hope you managed to get warm quickly after walking your dogs 🙏
London_1, pleased to hear that your 2 DGS arrived safely despite the extended journey to get there ☺️ I will keep my fingers crossed that the heavy rain stops whilst they are visiting 🤞& that the boys get their fill of home cooked food to tide them over until their next visit 😊 Poor Stan 😔 hopefully he will recover quickly now that his wound is being treated 🙏
Florenceem, wow J has been so busy - he is a really hard worker 🤩 More excellent decluttering 👏 I giggled at the tale of one teaspoon actually being 5 🙊
florianatwobob, I love the idea that you had the same size feet as the dog 🙊
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏
Good luck dealing with the frogs TC77 🍀 I will keep my fingers crossed that DD1 tempers her inclination to ‘persuade’ you into decluttering more than you are ready to let go of at the current time 🤞
Liverpool_Anne, my work around for the upgrade is to write my post in ‘Notes’, make it look how I want (i.e. bold, italics etc) then copy & post. However I really miss the ability to just quote a portion of someone’s post - hence my shorter posts 😢 It might have taken a chunk of your time to sort out but well done getting a good deal on your phone contract & not getting scammed 👏🥳
Sleep tight everyone 😴

Mehefin glad you had a monitor. We have the linked ones next to all the places they are supposed to be and then never really think about them, but hearing your story definitely makes me glad they are there

Hope everyone is well, it's another wet day here after 2 days of dry weather and it's half term as well so it hard to do thing as most things that are in doors are expensive but we have managed.
Over the last few weeks I have been decluttering, we got some more baking trays as they were on offer at Mr T's as the old ones were passed there best. I have sold a few things on various platforms.
On Tuesday we went to my mum's to do pancakes so I also took a cake mix from Christmas and we did that as well and they was very nice.
My mum has sold some shoes so I am taking a box round for her to pack them in, I think the box was hers in the first place and I bought it round to mines just incase I needed it to use as packaging.
I have finished my last diamond art off and I have put all the extra diamonds in to little bottles and in to a case so they aren't all over the place.
I think that's everything for now
Hope everyone has a good day

Hi folks, I am still reading but no decluttering with the exception of lots of money.
Mehefin, wow! what a cautionary tale. We have a fire ( which has been lit twice) which came with a state of the art monitor which I questioned if we needed, looks like we do!
The colour on the front bedroom walls is nothing even close to what I was expecting, but I will go with it and see if it works with the new carpet and furniture. It's called dried peat. I expect light will play a part in that room as it's South facing. I like the newly painted door very much. Sorry previous owner who spent so much time stripping them. Despite wanting the doors striped back the previous owner replaced all the original door knobs. Upstairs they are a fake light oak colour, downstairs a Victorianesque glass. I will be changing them all to black or brass. Not a priority atm. I recently found out that brass has a antimicrobial properties, making it a good choice for door knobs. Who knew?
New carpet for the 3 bedrooms chosen and paid for. I have gone for a slightly better quality than last time. Not that the carpet at the other house was the cheapest but it was showing signs of use on the stairs after a couple of years. The new carpet colour is geyiege called white jasmin. Front bedroom will be fitted next Wednesday. We will then sleep in there whilst our room is decorated then lastly we will do the little room. Stairs and landing will wait until the bathroom has been done in May. Actually probably even longer. Waiting till after all the mucky knocking down of walls is done downstairs makes sense. Walls n stuff will probably be next year, builder dependant.
Any builder time this year will have to be diverted to the front garden now I have made such a mess in there by having the bushes and self seeded saplings dug out. It had to be done, the trees covered the window. The house looked like one of those houses you ran past as a kid cos everyone said a witch lived there! Did I tell you there were 2 old blokes leaning on the wall one day looking at the cleared garden? They gave me double thumbs up. Hahahaha.
I have sold the two 2 seater sofas and the oak side tables. New to me 3 seater sofa coming on Friday afternoon. We have been given an arm chair. We will see if this arrangement works better.
I have completed 3 bigger Dennis the Menace jumpers, a smaller one and a new baby one to do before Saturday. Doable, just. DD1 is going to visit DS and family on Sunday so she can take them all with her. If you see a Dennis the Menace clan out and about in Oxfordshire you will know they are my Grandsons and friends.😘
Must go, my friend is coming for coffee and I am not even dressed yet!

Morning all,
Bailey was sick on me at 5:20am so that wasn't a very good wake up call. Bed stripped, shower and attempted to get back to sleep for a bit but that was a fail.
Dog walked 8am -9am and it was cold cold cold.
WFH this morning and very busy as usual.
Lunch with my sister and bestie today then home to sort my washing out! So much to do now, first load on the horse, 2nd in the machine now will hang that before I leave and load up the machine again.
Decluttering a Roland the Rat teddy that I bought for my bestie, she had one for years and it was the tattiest wee thing ever, held together by scraps and I managed to find a brand new one from 1983 so bought it for her. Hope she likes it.
Will attempt at more later.

I did the tip run. I don't know why i dread it so much, but I procrastinate.
Removed from the house
Three big boxes, two lamps, 8 other small electrical items, 2 hoovers, and a broken foam fold out bed. All were stored in the garage. Space created is visible, which is nice.
It always feels so satisfyingly when I do it.

I have a newish CO monitor, provided by CADENT after mine decided to die a slow & very loud death at 3am one morning! The engineer's advice (after he checked everything was ok) was to wrap it in a teatowl & stick it in a drawer so I could get some sleep and until I could take it to the tip!

When BG fitted my new boiler they also fitted a new carbon monoxide monitor as standard. We’ve had one for years that sits close to the boiler on top of the fridge. BG had recommended one when the fitted the previous boiler but at that point it wasn’t part of their mandatory fitting programme. We now have two in place. The original and the new one. It feels a bit belt and braces but better safe than sorry

Thursday: it rained overnight & early a.m. Todays forecast is for a high of 7°C (feeling 3° colder due to N wind) & a low of 4°C Third week that the recycling wheelie bin has not been emptied so DH put in a complaint & the response was that it had been emptied at 07:05 - flat out lie 😖 DH is currently in communication via the website & the council is trying to make out it is our fault 😡 Someone should really come around to see that our close looks a lot like a rubbish dump 😞 I have a vague menu plan &
have written a shopping list. DH & DSis left just before 14:00. DSis was not happy as she had a 09:00 phone call from the hospital checking that she is turning up for her appointment on Monday. I have had a tiny flurry of activity - changed the water for my Valentines flowers & trimmed the stems - only one flower didn’t last 😊 I also did the smallish amount of wudupa (25 items)
Great decluttering Deb4 👏 & well done on tidying away your crafting bits 👏Excellent work vulpix 👏 You have been very busy getting the decorating & furnishing sorted out 🤩 At the rate you are going I can almost see you moving again…….. once the garden has been sorted 😂 although I do hope I am joking 🙃
_Dolly_Rocker_, sorry to hear that Bailey is ill 😔 & let’s you know it 🤢 Hope you have a lovely lunch with your sister & best friend ☺️ I am sure your ‘bestie’ Will love her gift 🥹
Excellent work Willowtree222 👏 Getting around to doing a Tip run has earned you a medal 🏅 As an aside I must award my DH a medal when he gets around to doing a Tip run 😉
Floss, that doesn’t sound very safe 🤨
Good steady decluttering crazybeautiful 👏 & well done on being proactive 👏
I am currently watching the Nordic Combined Team Sprint (ski jump & cross country skiing) & once I have posted I have a little bit of paperwork to sort out. I hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 🤞
