Morning all. The first declutter of the day was a small mouse which Sox brought in and which he has spent the night harassing. Various things knocked over so I think it led a Sox a merry dance. I managed to trap it gently in a small box and put it in area some distance from house. It stayed for a while but when I went back just now it had disappeared. Sox is still looking for it in the house and hasn't been out for his morning walk yet although he did run to the kitchen and grab half his breakfast.
Good progress yesterday at meeting with minutes already done and sent to chair. Mrs SD I am going to see Ovo at RAH with DD at the end of the month. This was DD's Christmas present to me as she knew Royal Albert Hall was on my bucket list as I have never been there. I've bought my train ticket already and DD bringing me home the next day.
I probably need to pop down to Mr A as I need to feed DGCs tonight - all I got was grunts when I asked what they wanted. I am trying to decide whether I want to drive to the Swedish shop tomorrow - I need a few small bits and delivery charges are silly. Nearest is Sheffield which is about an hour away. Things seem generally untidy but after school run tomorrow DGCs are at their Mums until Thursday next week. DS2 & DIL going to Krakow for a long weekend.

Wednesday continued: I had a lovely relaxing bath & washed my hair. Then picked out my clothes & got dressed whilst DH had a bath. I have been watching the Olympics - the ladies biathlon was amazing as was the ladies Moguls competition - although I don’t envy them the knee problems they will have in later life 😱 We left at 17:00 just as the rain restarted & walked to the bus stop. Unfortunately we had to wait 10 minutes. Dlr into Bank, walked to Monument & then District to South Kensington. Still raining at 18:15 so DH bought a sausage roll & takeaway cappuccino for each of us & we stood in the entranceway of the station eating & drinking, hoping in vain, that the rain would stop. The rain did slow down to a slight drizzle so we headed off to the Royal Albert Hall. We arrived just before 19:00 so doors already open for a 19:30 start. I bought a brochure (did blanch at the price £25 😰) & then treated us to a beer each & a packet of crisps. DH waited whilst I visited the Ladies & then we made our way to our seats - exact same ones we had last year with a perfect view of the stage. Two empty seats in our box. The show was absolutely brilliant 🤩 - just one small niggle is that even though I am definitely quite deaf the music was very loud 😬 Each act was more impressive than the previous one culminating in the bouncing from the floor onto a climbing wall 🤩
I was absolutely buzzing especially as I had been a little disappointed with last year’s show. We both used the facilities before making our way out into the rain……. yes it was still raining at 21:50 ☹️ Reversed our journey & again had to wait for a bus - 15 minutes this time, then a short walk in the rain & we were finally indoors by 23:20. DSis made us a hot drink & DH had the last slice of Tuesday night’s pizza. DSis had just made grilled cheese on toast with the last 2 slices of bread but kindly shared with me 😊 I caught up with some of the Olympics but fell asleep on the sofa. Went to bed without doing the wudupa.

@2Scratters I'm a big IKEA fan - I have Billy's with glass doors that were bought 10 years ago, a 12 year old table & chairs and a bookcase & tall dresser unit that are around 10 years old, plus rugs & all sorts of other stuff like blinds & curtains.

Sounds like a lovely evening @Mrs_Salad_Dodger glad you enjoyed it.
Got all my sold parcels out of the house.
Decluttered a chunk of money on bill paying day.
All the washing is done, just waiting on last few bits to dry, only got 2 bits left to iron so that can be done and finished tomorrow.
I seem to have mislaid Tuesday and Wednesday this week, gone so fast.
Have a big item to phograph and list hopefully tomorrow.
Sorted through clothes again and found 4 dresses, some knitwear and some tops which can all be sold. Will be photographing and listing tomorrow. Made a nice bit of room in wardrobe. Have 3 items to go to CS. Sold a top on Vinted today, taken to DFriend who will post Friday, she’s such a gem.
Hoping to do some baking over the weekend, craving a cherry loaf cake.
Have a good evening all, sweet dreams xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

I got up later than usual, did chores and had a shower. Went to try on the bras I bought in Mr T - they still had the security things on so I couldn't.
I went to M & S to return bras - still not got one to fit me. Weighed myself - lost the lb I put on so under 9 stone.
I ordered a sofa and foot stool for my craft room - asked for delivery June so I can be ready.
R came to dismantle shelves in office. Freegler came for a bundle of files/ring and box binders.
R helped me to move the desk so I can empty the cupboard - it is full.

After a sleepless night I did some 'me' stuff this morning including dropping off the worst of my towels five of different sizes to my vets, they are always on the look out for them, annoyingly I forgot to put my CS bag in the car, I'll try on Sunday.
I had a difficult telephone call with elderly friend at 4.30pm, she hates the care home after less than four hours, the room isn't just small it's the wrong shape. Unfortunately the move has caused a bad day for her and she's very confused and agitated the home agreed with the hospital that she is lacking the mental capacity to make safe decisions and have completed something called a DoLS form, this definitely won't help with her desire to go home. Due to other commitments (although i was made to feel guilty by her and the nurse) I'm unable to visit until Sunday which might be just as well as she wanted me to take her home or move her. The home has good reviews and CQC ratings it's just a little tired and her room isn't great but she's on a wait list to move rooms. At least she had no complaints about lunch!
2 volunteering days will be light relief! And I'll add a couple of books to go to Petworth on Saturday

@Brambling the DoLS form is for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. It’s to make sure that whilst her liberty to leave is restricted the least restrictive options are in place. Social care will be involved in supporting that.
When it comes to capacity it can fluctuate and isn’t a blanket inability of a person to decide what they want. Capacity is time and decision specific. In other words if someone has clearer thinking in the morning vs the afternoon or after a nap vs when they’re tired then they should be involved in the decision making process at that point they’re at their best. Equally someone may be able to decide what they want for lunch but they may not have capacity to decide if an operation is appropriate.✒️ Declutter 2026 🏅

@brambling sorry to hear about your friend.
Very heavy vintage jug picked up. I really like it but telling myself just because it's lovely I don't have to own it. :)
Work abit difficult with the redundancies being handled badly at work ao everyone stressed.
No other decluttering last couple or days but have been mopping and cleaning now I have hot water and made list of categories and then sub categories, so soft furnishings includes cushions, bedding etc and then electronics has laptops, chargers, cables etc.
Dd1 and cousin rearranged so my goals have. This weekend will be more frogs. Enjoying space as furniture went to upholsterer but it will return!

thanks @florianatwobob i think they haven't allowed for her to be over simulated with the move from the hospital and had her sign stuff and make decisions. The DoLS was raised because she didn't agree to a guard on the bed and they are going to override that as advised by the hospital. For the most part she has been a lot less confused in hospital. I know this needs to be done but it's causing me sleepless nights because it is causing her distress.
I need to be clear mind tomorrow to volunteer so I've held off decluttering some of my sloe gin, maybe tomorrow night as I don't need to be so focus for bookshop volunteering
