Florenceem your tip might want any paint to be solid, I know ours won't take paint thats still movable. (We have wood pellets for our cat trays and once used they dissolve back to sawdust so we used that just a few weeks ago when getting rid of paint pots with lumpy ancient paint, maybe your neighbours or company could supply the same (it doesn't smell or anything, just looks like sawdust) or real 'first time sawdust' from a timber merchant or when your builder is making the doors

Friday: it has rained overnight as well as this morning. The forecast is for a high of 9°C (feeling 2° colder due to ENE wind) & a low of 6°C with more rain forecast between 15:00 & 17:00. Actually started raining from 12:00 😞 just as DH headed off in the car for a practice run to Abbey Wood. He is picking up his DSis & DBiL next Friday & driving them home after their holiday in Malta. Temperature now feels 6° colder due to a stronger NE wind 🥶 I have done 2 loads of washing & most of the 2nd load is now in the td. I have also started knitting another hat whilst being thoroughly engrossed in watching the Winter Olympics. Dinner tonight is our usual Friday meal - fish (lemon & parsley butterflied sea bass) with boiled new potatoes & peas for DH & me. Crustless quiche & boiled potatoes for DSis. Back from a two week holiday and doing all the usual things like unpacking, washing and having a vacuum through the house. I only wore half of the clothes I took with me so it was nice to be able to just put unworn things away. I need to decide what to do with tourist leaflets, maps etc. I know, they should go straight into the recycling 😂 I get weirdly attached to them though and sometimes use tickets as bookmarks. Nice reminders, or clutter?
Mrs SD - I am glad your annual treat was fantastic this year. It does sound a wonderful show to go to!
@Florenceem - you are getting on with everything admirably doing things your way. Other people’s procedures are not relevant and it would be nice if they had the empathy to understand that. I was away but it was good to read back and see that so many people came to Mr F’s COL. As always, you have done your very best for him. I like the colours you have chosen and think the silver grey carpet will look gorgeous with stiffkey blue.

Hi all, sneaking back in after a week or so of not doing much decluttering 😁. There is a very strange yellow thing in the sky which for the first time in what feels like years is blue 😂. I have been awake for hours catching up with all the posts and am on my 3rd cuppa 😂.
@Florenceem so glad the CoL went well, you are doing a lot of work and I know you need to keep busy but please take care of yourself and make sure you eat, whatever takes your fancy, big hugs
On the subject of stupid things companies do a few weeks after my friend lost her DH she found an insurance policy for loss of earnings due to illness so phoned them. The girl said well you have to be seriously ill to claim this. Her reply was well he died, I don't think it could be more serious do you? When she told me I was amazed how calm she was, I was boiling on her behalf. It still took an age and lots of paperwork to sort out the claim but they had annoyed her enough for her to persevere.
@Mrs SD I have also been watching the winter Olympics and agree about the knees 😁. I love the curling but even that I think couldn't cope with sliding along on my knee on the ice, I 'd need a knee pad 😂. I haven't recorded anything though as I have discovered it is all available on the i player 😁.
@Vulpix great news about the radiator and carpet giving you a warmer lr 😁 and I can definitely confirm you have a lovely cosy home 😁.
@weenancyinAmerica would a large external hard drive be usable to store all your information? I'm not sure but I can't imagine they will completely get rid of usb connections, they are everywhere
So much excellent decluttering being done by everyone it puts me to shame. I have been to the kitchen planner twice since I last posted. First plan was quite good but I was on decision overload so when I took it home and looked at it the next day with OH we thought there were a few things that should be changed thinking about how we actually use the kitchen. That was sorted on the second visit 😁. It is a very small space but we will have cupboards up to the ceiling. I will need steps to reach them but it will give storage for those things that only get used occasionally and be out of sight rather than being visible on top of the units 😂. I have chosen a very pale gloss grey with push open doors so no handles or grooves to gather dust, a porcelain sink and drainer so I can use bleach and an oak worktop. I have also chosen a double oven and an induction hob with touch controls, no knobs to get mucky 😂. We took a trip to the Swedish shop to look at pans as we will need new to work on the induction hob. I have one big pan that I use when batch cooking and a frying pan which will work but my other pans won't. I went to the Swedish shop because I have used their pans at work and I have to say they can take a battering and last a good while, I am another person who has no real complaints with that shop. I have a lot of their furniture having bought it when money was definitely an issue and still have most of it in use, bed and chest of draws, bedside cabinets, draws and unit in lr and couches. The couches do need replacing now though as OH has managed to rip the leather on the seat but they must be 30 years old so I can't really complain about that either, and I think I need a new matress but it's not urgent 😁.
Before Christmas I asked a friend to do a picture of my sister's dog. It arrived this week and I am so pleased with it 😁. I have taken it to a bespoke framer and it should be ready by the end of the month. I should have taken a photo of it but will do one when it is back from the framers. I hope my sister will love it as much as I do 😁.
Well despite being up early I am now pushing it for time, audiologist this morning so I will just say hugs to anybody who would like one and get weaving.
Not going to list everything, just add 25 to my numbers from my list so take care everyone

Mrs SD, it's amazing how acrobatic types can throw themselves about and here's me, I can hardly walk up a flight of steps!🤣 I am still thinking about furniture, quite a bit of it is on borrowed time.
Mr V is just having a wizz round with the hoover as the carpet going downstairs shed lumps of itself all the way.
We had an impromtu trip to China town in Manchester yesterday which I thoroughly enjoyed as it is all decorated for Chinese new year. Mr V's satnav had a funny turn and took us there instead of where we were supposed to be. As we were going in the right general direction I didn't pay any attention as I was knitting.😂 Mr V has not got a geographical bone in his body and would follow his satnav where ever. I argue with it all the time!
Moorviews, I think tickets as bookmarks is a lovely idea. You should get a bunch of them together and laminate them into a more permanent thing.
It's a beautiful day here so the duvets are in the wash and can go on the line shortly.
Nothing de cluttered with the exception of soft plastics to the supermarket. I count them as I have to make an effort to take them.

It is a bright and sunny day here. I really enjoyed seeing my friends from school during the week in London. One of them I hadn't seen in almost 20 years and the other I hadn't seen in 30 years! Talking to them has made me think about where I am in life and what I want to do next. We are all going to 50 in the next few months and it seems significant. I am seeing my other friend on Monday in London and I haven't seen her since 2007? Where does the time go?!
I have started making up a donation bag again.I want to go through the kitchen drawers too as I was looking for a particular cable last night that I couldn't find so I want a clear out.
I am going to call up Monday to book a professional cleaning now the kitchen is finished.

Moorviews I have lots of bookmarks: pics, tickets, bought bookmarks, including, as vulpix suggested, some that I've laminated so they will last a long time and be lovely reminders

Confession Time
Thursday I met my sister and we went to B&M for dog food, ended up in the special buy aisle and they had reduced the majority of their Christmas stock to £0.10p! We had a trolley full by the time we left!
I bought;
7 Christmas candles
Jar of matches
10 woven star placemats
2 wood tree ornaments
2 gonks
3 boxes of crackers
2 colouring in books
2 books
2 double bedding sets
6 single bedding sets
Christmas tree skirt
Light up train decoration
30 treat boxes
4 packets of acorn ornamentsSpent like £7.00 in total. Chuffed to bits. Lots of it was stuff I wanted to pick up over the festive period when it was full price but too expensive!
Gave my friend 2 single bedding sets for her wee girls, so they're already out of the house.
4 of the single bedding sets are for my Mum so she can get them tomorrow.
It's all packed away in the cupboard of doom, well apart from the bedding which I'll use all year anyway LOL
