Morning all. Off to a meeting this morning. Last frog for meeting dealt with. Three DGCs for tea last night. DD seems to be enjoying her short break in Devon despite weather - they are dodging rain by visiting pubs which is always a good idea. The plan was long walks with dog although she needs lots of breaks as she is getting elderly (the dog that is not DD).
199 Frog done - policy updated for meeting today
200 On line access to savings bank app set up after several attempts - I had to wait for a letter in post with code to input

Morning all.
My bestie arrived just after 7 to collect a bag full and a box of donations for her charity shop.
J arrived at 8 - he has finished power washing the alley and starting on the front area of the house.
Still doing my chores - bit slow today - just floors to mop.
I have sorted a box that I brought down from the office.
I contacted an oak furniture company yesterday - they are getting back to me with prices for the items I want for my bedroom. I also need delivery times.
Builder is due here at 11.

Wednesday is another dark dreary day. It has rained already & is forecast to rain this evening from 20:00. Today’s forecast is for a high of 12°C (feeling 6° colder due to WSW wind) & a low of 8°C. Today is my annual treat from DH - we will be going to the Royal Albert Hall to see Cirque du Soleil - this year’s show is called OVO. Unfortunately this year DH couldn’t get tickets for the afternoon performance so we will be home late.
Great decluttering GrannyKate especially sorting the frog 👏 Pleased to hear that your DD is enjoying her short break despite the rain ☺️
Great decluttering Florenceem & another busy start to the day 👏 Hopefully the quotes for bedroom furniture will be reasonable 🤞 Good luck with the builder 🍀
DH made my first cuppa & I am about to make my 2nd - will watch a bit of Super G & then have a bath. Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible & that our poorlies are all on the mend 🥹 See you later 👋

Hello all,
Had an early finish today so as soon as I was done I tidied the bedroom and changed the bedding.
Have had so much washing to do this week as Bailey wasn't very well, he was sick on ME at 4:40am Monday morning so that was a joy to behold. Had to wash the duvet which was a nightmare to get dry as it's been so cold and wet. My dehumidifier is on OT.
Decluttered my old wellies, pair of crocs and my nieces wellies that sat outside my front door for a very long time.
All my recycling done and another load in the machine.
Just on the couch watching crime documentary on YouTube.
Off out for dinner tonight for a dog walking friends birthday. There are 3 of us so always split the bill between 2 and the birthday girl gets a freebie. My turn next month. We're off to Suisse which is a lovely vegan restaurant. Can't wait for some yummy food and good company.

Not much decluttering going on as i went to a funeral on the Isle of Wight. We stayed in West Cowes but we parked in East Cowes as there was no parking at the hotel and the road via Newport is closed for a new water main. We spent two days trotting across the floating bridge and down the high street. Sadly after the funeral i got on the bridge and I couldn’t remember if I had locked the car so went back across the bridge to check. I think I provided the nights entertainment for the crew. I raced back to the car and they held the bridge so i could get back on. They didn’t charge for the extra trips. I think they were laughing too much.
The funeral was gentle and the retired vicar who stepped in a the last minute after a lot of trouble for the family trying to organise things was very kind and thoughtful. It was lovely to see my family but i hope not to have anyone else go. We have had three of my generation die.Anyway after i recovered from the journey i had another go at my husband’s family’s medals. We have medals from his great grandfather, two grandfathers and his great great uncle. They were just in a box I found clearing his parents house a few years ago. I swing mounted them with invisible thread and then mounted them in an existing frame. It’s quite tricky to get them to hang sensibly but I can easily open it up now that they are mounted on the card. Not the best photo because the glass shows reflections but you can get the idea. I put all the paperwork I found inside the back of the frame. On Find a grave we found an article about Harold Braddock who was a conscientious objector and refused to fight but was a stretcher barer and rescued people from the wires in the first world war. Four mates went together and they all survived. I printed it out and popped that in the back as well

J finished the power washing and carried down from the office - a heavy box.
I ordered oak furniture for my bedroom - got delivery times - plenty of time to decorate and have new carpet. Plus I need to get a curtain pole and curtains plus a blind fitted.
I decided as there was a sale on and the prices were good - to order furniture for the bedroom that was an office.
Builder arrived late - not unusual but it went downhill from then. He measured the radiator and went off to buy a new one. The heating had to go off while he was doing the job. Next I heard swearing! He had bought the wrong size and blamed me - said I told him it was a 500. My friend said that I told her it was a 600. He had measured so his fault. Off he went to get another radiator. He got back and soon there was more swearing - he had the wrong size again! He blamed it on the girl giving him a 600 height but a 500 width. Off he went again - I thought I will cook my food as it was getting cooler in the house. There was one time when I was upstairs and he had gone off leaving my front door open - anyone could have walked in.
Eventually he finished and it was time to turn the heating on. Builder said I should have turned it off at the plug - I had switched off on the boiler so it was a bit of a job to get it working - don't usually turn the boiler off.
I put desks, files and shelving on Freegle this morning.
Someone asked for one of the desks - I had tried the charity shop that takes furniture and they said no.
They turned up as arranged - chap had to take it apart to go through the door. so one large item gone out of the room.

Someone has asked for the shelving - it is on the wall - think I will ask a friend to help me take it down so I don't have a stranger upstairs in my house. The desk people were okay as it was a man and a woman.
I had a day indoors today. Carried on sorting in the office - first job was emptying the desk drawers.
A neighbour popped to see me - was shocked about Mr F.
I did empty another shelf in the office wardrobe. I asked builder about new wardrobe doors.
Lost the ability to type on keyboard - was in tears as I always asked Mr F for help. My bestie told me how to get a keyboard up on the pc screen as we couldn't sort out the problem.
I phoned the computer chap - he is coming to tell me if I need any of the electrical stuff in the office. He said he will take away what I don't need and on his next tip run put it in the electrical's bin.
Decluttered today - desk, paperwork, files, postcard album, photo album, card game, ornamental dagger and sheath, elastic bands, plastic pots and lids, ice cream tub, Christmas train decoration, vintage book x 3, screws, plastic, music box, carrier bag, stamps, tin, radiator, carrier bag, paperclips, and lots of water.

Brambling, great work for your friend. It is tough trying to navigate to get to the right outcome. xx
I am having to have a day off today. My knee and joints in general are sore. LCL, aka lovely cleaning lady is coming later to do some more emulsion in the front bedroom. Up to date everything has had 2 coats with the exception of the dark blue walls which have had 3. I still need to top coat the radiator, door, picture rail and skirting. It will have to be Sunday now as we are going out, tomorrow and Saturday. The curtain rail is down waiting for a scrub in the bath. The carpet, we managed to put in the bathroom for now. I cleaned inside the radiator of it's very old muck. Just decorating one room disrupts the whole house however tidy I try to be. It always takes much longer than you expect too.
We went to Ikea last night, I got a shelf for above the bed, a candle and new duvet covers for us. We also collected the bay window curtain track. We are planning on going to the carpet shop tomorrow. Once the front bedroom is finished,LCL and I will do our room which is similar with a dark blue wall. and office type carpet.
The plumber is due shortly to move the position and fit a new radiator. I am hoping that we can get the carpet down stairs later and somehow fit it in the sitting room. It was a monster to take up. It will be fun to try and fit it with furniture in situ.😂
Time to catch up on a lot of knitting today.
Vx

@Floss re the towels you have sorted made me think about my bathroom towels. We have been here 10.5 year (we are on the Fylde coast now) and were from our bathroom of old when we had an extension done and bathroom was ultra modern completed in 2005 😲. We purchased them from Ikea and have been dyed a couple of times only that's all in that time, they are on my list of a redo the colour to do. Some people don't like the store but we can't fault it tbh.
I seem to be shifting other peoples decluttering efforts rather than my own. Probably as I am younger than them, yet they love it of getting rid of their own. It works so a win win. Just need to do a bit more on me. Stuff has been used up and stores are slowly going down too.
Just going to stick on the end of here we finally cleared the back of the house all of the plaster and debris to the tip. We are both feeling accomplished 🤩 We got the first notification of cost of the kitchen delivery but excluding fitting. Whilst we were chatting about it and me feeling a bit meh (as I am hoping to have enough pennies left to get a new to us car at the end of it) realised the time of over 20 years ago was the last time we purchased and fitted our own kitchen. This time it will need to be fitted for us yet DH still says he wants to help 🙃 of course he does, it's what he has always done. I've told him to be the foreman.
At mum's today lets see what silly stories she tells, there is always a giggle along the way even with dementia. She helped me last week with a jumper I am pulling back which is a bit fluffy and well used. I'll tell her we need to get some work done today 😉
Yay! it is currently a bit bright with the sun trying to do its best.
Have a good day
2 Scratters xx
