Thanks @daisy_1571 I do love the puppy stage even with the teething and potty training 😆 but an older dog would be okay too. I'm signed up to several sites now and I have preferences on breed because I know their temperament and size etc. I think if it's meant to be it will be and I'm open to pup or an older dog who needs a home 🥰.Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500

Afternoon all,
I had my dr's appointment this morning and then popped to the gym before coming home.
Dr's - I was shrugged off. I'd like to say I'm surprised but I'm not. For every thing I mentioned I got a 'yeh I'm not concerned about that really.' even the huge jump in figures from one blood test to the other and the near fainting feeling I keep having. Everything was put down to menopause. And nothing was suggested for an alternative hrt. I guess I'll either be going down the private route or trying to heal myself now. She did refer me to cardiology. Wait list of at least 7-9months 🙂 hmm. I wonder sometimes why we're not able to opt out of paying NI and be able to use our money we earn on private health care instead. But there we go. So fruitless appointment and am trying to just brush off the useless Dr and not take it personally. Because, honestly, she made me feel like a hypochondriac.
I went to the gym, 1.5miles on the treadmill slightly quicker than yesterday but I wasn't trying to beat it, I was just bored and wanted to be done 🙈😆. I used the sauna and cold shower. I used the sauna for 10 minutes then straight into icy water for a minute, then back into the sauna for another ten minutes and shower again before leaving. 🥶 I hear it's good for you but omg it was cold. 🥶
Back home I made some quinoa and salad (used up some bits that were hiding at the back of the fridge). I'm having a rested afternoon watching a bit of TV and I've listened to my audiobook for a while. I'm tempted to go into the garden for a bit while we have blue skies but the cold air ❄️ keeps starting off coughing fits. I think I will anyway.
I'd like to claim a NSD but I need some tomatoes and lettuce and some juice. Might take a walk with DP later on to the local shop.
DP is trying to sort out our Paris trip. He booked the tickets for Eurostar and hotel in my maiden name (which I'm currently using) and my passport is in my married name 🙈 he didn't think about it at the time and honestly neither did I. I'm wondering how we can change this...either the tickets we change or I just buy a new passport. The old one has three years left on it though 🤔 so we'll see what we can do there with the tickets first of all. I'd love to get rid of the married name obviously but at the same time I'd rather not shell out for a new passport.
Dinner tonight is leftover veg I didn't need for Xmas steamed with whatever I can find in the freezer to accompany it 😄😆.

There was a 'debt free' weight loss thread last year, but it went very quiet. You could start your own, if you do please
post a link and I will join you.
much sympathy on the GP front, that's why I don't bother. It gets very depressing when they don't have any answers, although it was the same with the private care incidentally. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

Ah thanks @redofromstart I will have a look for that...or similar. If I start my own I'm not sure where to put It 🤔.
I've spent £34.09 on a g0ust0 delivery arriving at the weekend. Three lots of five meals, so 15 meals in all. I thought that was good value and should ease us back into our working/ school week a bit better. I got a good discount via blue light card app which was slightly better than the 50% offer you can find via internet searching (think it was 55% off if anyone is interested).
I've also booked a cinema ticket for tomorrow! A friend was saying how amazing a film was that I wanted to see and I commented I think I'll go watch that on my own this week 😊 and she said she'd love to see it again, so we've booked tickets for tomorrow afternoon together. Quite excited, it's The Housemaid, and I've read about twenty Frieda books so looking forward to seeing this one as a movie. Friend is coming here even though I offered to drive to her town, so saves on petrol too. Also managed to get a cheap ticket for that via service seats. So saved at least £6 on that (cinema is super expensive here). 😀
I've cashed out a bit of money from a survey site I'd almost forgotten about and TCB so around a tenner in all. Not sure where I'm sending little bits like that this month possibly the EF but might send to the mortgage as the interest is higher on that than my savings rate right now. Ooh I worked out my daily interest rate on my mortgage and it was around £15 a day. How eye watering is that 🥴! Yikes!
Meals today:-
Edited to add food intake for the day. If I keep a track of it I can see where my energy is dipping and rising in line with possible dietary choices-
I broke my fast at 12pm with quinoa and salad. I mixed some mushroom ketchup into the quinoa (splash of it) small ramekin of blueberries and also one of grapes whilst I watched TV. Felt good!
Failed and had a coke out the fridge - full fat and a mince pie 🤦🏻♀️- felt bloated and sick.
Back on track for dinner, cabbage, broccoli, mash and a nut roast. Still feeling bloated from coke and mince pie.
One yoghurt with chia and flaxseed mixed in. Feeling slightly better now.
And that's me done for the day before 8pm. I'll stick to water now. Promise 😆.Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500

Delurking to say i would be absolutely livid with the gp, how can you put eveything down to menopause and why in this age are we still not taken seriously! Can you rightly ask for a 2nd opinion at your surgery and see a different gp? Know private is expensive but you need to shout a bit to get some proper service.
Have you seen all the videos or books from davina mccall i think sbout her menopause journey and how much she has highlighted it all may be helpful?Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

I agree @beanielou & @baldybear I sat there astounded as she blamed absolutely everything on it. 🤔😒🤨 She's referred me to cardiology but I honestly think she's done it to get rid of me. This is why I don't bother with doctors anymore and try to fix myself. I never feel heard. I'll look up the Davina book, I've heard about it but not read it. I could see if the library has it in when I go back to work as the one in town is close by.
