@villagelife- My ancestors married at St. Martins in the Fields back in 1622 in the old church before it was rebuilt. Had a son they lost in 1623 and then came to America that same year. They were William and Mary Dyer and she was hung in Boston, Massachusetts, 1 June 1660, as the last Quaker hung in America. I have visited the church several times and enjoyed eating down in the Crypt cafe.6

weenancyinAmerica, what a very interesting ancestor you have! Have you researched your family history? I’ve been building my family tree since 1996. I am obsessed. One of my “26 for 2026” is to achieve more sessions. I’ve found cousins in the USA I had no idea existed. I could go on about it for ever😂Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

@suzeesu2000 - I started back in 1962 - and haven't stopped since.Spent the last few days working on my German ancestors. I bounce around between different countries. Last week I was working on the Swedish lines.
I have found that a lot of my cousins emigrated to America also. My English ancestors emigrated between 1608 to 1755 to Virginia and North Carolina and 1623 to 1670 to Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Jersey. Early German ancestors came in 1709 to New York and Pennsylvnia. Later ones didn't come until the 1840s.The Dutch came back in the 1650s. Irish in the 1850s. Swedes in the 1880s. French and Swiss ancestors came in 1839. They are all keeping me busy.7 -
@weenancyinAmerica we will go to the crypt for coffee a couple of times a year as is lovely down there.
A very interesting family tree you have.7 -
Hello, I would love to join and help me stay focused. Will pop my list up later.8

@Muddy_Walker thanks for the book recommendation, that's right up my street so I've added it to my "to read" list.
As for me, after a bit of tinkering, tweaking, and (obviously) procrastinating, I’m officially locking in my 26 for 2026 list. This challenge has worked so well for me over the last few years in terms of motivation and mindset, so I’ve tried to build on what helped, soften what didn’t, and keep plenty of room for real life.

Let's do this!You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same8 -
I have of course now tweaked my list a bit - no longer 'red' and 'blue' but a 'colours' so e.g. a visit to Black Mamba would be M, Red Salmon would be S, Blue Danube D. Instead I've added 'proteins' to 'fruit and veg'. I may well split book titles into fiction and non-fiction - food and reading, two of my favourite things :-) Composers I've changed from listening to to learning a piece on the piano by that composer. Currently playing Debussy and Mendlessohn
And as i was in town yesterday I made a start on the street art. Each one is a smallish metal version with a letter on - there is no map and no list. So far I have found N for Needle, M for Musical Instrument (it was a violin but definitely an M), C for Compass, R for razor blade and V on what looks like a telescope so a little foxed by that one.
