Back from my trip - had a taste of Woodford whiskey for W for whiskies and finished Red Queen for Q for colours

I have finished the second book in the Throne of Glass (TOG) series and despite being unsure whether I would get into it in the same way as the ACOTAR series, I’m now in 😂. The second half is where it really picked up for me and a lot of the earlier detail started to make sense. What I’m realising as a new-to-fantasy reader, is that it takes me a really long time to understand and construct the worlds in my mind. Once I have, I’m then absorbed. Now I need to decide what order I’ll be reading the next books in.

    4. Way Back (engaging easy read with a farm theme and a few typos) 8.5/10

    5. The Cuckoo’s Calling (first of the Strike detective novels) 8.5/10

    6. Yellowface (‘too awful to look away’ page-turner) 10/10

    22. A Throne of Glass (first of what promises to be a new epic series - blood, guts with a bit of magic and majesty) 8/10
