Am now at 16 (list below plus reef) from Complete Knot List | A-Z List of All Types of Knots - I have used kebab sticks from a bbq for hitches. Valdoutain looks fun! @suzeesu2000 - you're right - everything is an achievement! 😉

@Dakota_Rose - thank you! An evening walk with dh will definitely be a thing in the next week or so - he's going through an intense period at work currently and is wiped when he gets home at the moment! 😔

@DundeeDoll - yep, in the UK 😁 timing is definitely better now for sunsets and sunrises but the weather is scuppering me at the moment! 🙄😂

    @thechubbyunicorn - thank you ❤️

Slightly late on my update but here it is!

    Annual:

    2) Listen to 26 podcasts - 2 - no change! I couldn't find my earbuds so need to have a proper search for them! If they remain elusive, I will just watch put them on YouTube 🙄

    3) Do 26 bike rides - 0 - no change. Too busy this weekend harvesting etc.

    4) Do 26 home 'spa' days - 3 - got one in last week, will do another on Friday 😁

    6) Have 26 'tech' free days - 0 - I'm going to do Tuesdays as mindfulness days so this will be my tech free day from next week. Once I'm used to it, I'll add another day.

    7) Watch 26 sunsets - 10 - no change - weather has been overcast so nothing to see!

    8) Watch 26 sunrises - 6 - same as the sunsets 😔

    9) Go on 26 walks with dh - 2 - no further with this but have discussed starting this once dh is through an intense period at work he's currently dealing with.

    10) Do 26 home 'gym' sessions - 0 - I'm starting this in a couple of weeks time - I have a fitness plan! 😁

    11) Do 26 nights of 'stargazing' - 2 - did one on last week - stunning! Weather hasn't been conducive since though! 🙄

    12) Clear 26 items of clothing - 0 - the great wardrobe clear out is being done on the next bedroom day (after today as I've got a busy day planned already) with the flyladies 😁 I'm having 5 bags - keep, animal shelters, charity, recycle, bin.

    14) Have 26 'gardening' days - 6 - it was only harvesting but it was still a gardening day!

    15) Do 26 beach walks - 6 - I'm starting these within the next 2 weeks - part of my fitness plan is to spend the next 2 weeks building up my walking distance to this.

    16) Donate 26 items to the foodbank - 2 - I've only been to the shops once since last week (dh has done most of the shopping)

    17) Do at least 26 dog walks - altered to 26 home gym sessions as dog rehomed. Not sure I'll manage that many but I'm starting these in 3 weeks as part of my fitness plan

    Monthly:

    19) Do 26 days of yoga nidra practices - 7 so far in September

    20) Have 26 days alcohol free - 8 (including today) for September so far.

    21) Do 26 days of dry skin brushing and moisturizing - 0 so far! Totally forgot to be honest! 😂

    22) Save £26 off my grocery bill - doing well so far but can't really tell until the end of the month!

    23) Have 26 days of eating exclusively WFPB - 5 so far. Had one day eating out and had a UPF 'steak' that night for dinner and I also had white bread with scrambled tofu one day. May have one more day not on target as I have a birthday celebration to go to this month but other than that, should be on track with this.

    Daily:

    24) Do 26 minutes of housework - done daily to date

    25) Do 26 minutes of meditation practice - 7 so far

    26) Do 26 minutes of asana practice - 6 so far - weekends that I have the grandbabies are proving difficult!

'Happiness is not a destination but the journey you walk every day'

    GC - September- £61.23/£350

    Debt neutral fund - 2/45

today's A-Z TV programme was Y for Yes Prime Minister - still feels so contemporary

  • I loved Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister. I have them both on DVD. It even sounds current with the US government. They were so good - but so funny too.

I’m back after being in a book bubble for the past week or so. I’m now officially invested in the Court of Thorns and Roses series and have just finished book 3. Much ‘bigger’ than the first two books and I really enjoyed it.

1.You Are Here (easy read) 9/10

    2. The Seven Murders of Evelyn Hardcastle (time-travelling murder mystery) 9.5/10

    3. Love Untold (ending made a middling read worthwhile) 8/10

    4. Way Back (engaging easy read with a farm theme and a few typos) 8.5/10

    5. The Cuckoo’s Calling (first of the Strike detective novels) 8.5/10

    6. Yellowface (‘too awful to look away’ page-turner) 10/10

    7. A Thousand Splendid Suns (emotive, heavy but worthwhile read) 10/10

    8. Before the coffee gets cold (Japanese coffee-shop time-travelling scenarios) 8/10

    9. Us Three (screenplay-style friendship story) 9/10

    10. The Twyford Code (a puzzle within a puzzle) 9/10

    11. The Shock of the Fall (first person narrative with flashbacks - includes childhood trauma told sensitively and with humour woven throughout) 8/10

    12. Guilty (lots of shock factor details, but predictable storyline) 7.5/10

    13. The Falls (Scottish detective novel) 8.5/10

    14. The Examiner (murder mystery told through emails and messages) 8.5/10

Sorry to be a bore but I’m back with book number 20/26. It was a quick read and much shorter than the two books either side of it in the series I am reading. A Court of Frost and Starlight felt like a bridging book after the epic’ness’ of the previous one, biding time before the next big one I suspect, not least because it’s less than half the size of the others too. I didn’t mind the more subdued plot line and it was an easy read. I’d rate it 9/10 mostly for the fact that I’m now fully invested in the series.

Fantasy books have never really appealed to me, but it’s been exciting to discover a new series that has me completely immersed. I can see why some people could turn their nose up at them but they’re my new guilty pleasure!
