Nice to pop in and see others’ updates.

I’ve finished The Examiner by Janice Hallett this afternoon. The second half had me gripped and although far-fetched, it was definitely worth a read. I’d give it 8.5/10.

    2. The Seven Murders of Evelyn Hardcastle (time-travelling murder mystery) 9.5/10

    4. Way Back (engaging easy read with a farm theme and a few typos) 8.5/10

    5. The Cuckoo’s Calling (first of the Strike detective novels) 8.5/10

    6. Yellowface (‘too awful to look away’ page-turner) 10/10

A quick turnaround for my book 15 - First Blood by Angela Marsons - as I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s part of a series I’ve read many books of and have been hooked by. They follow a very similar ‘recipe’ and peak at the same stage of the novel each time (almost to exactly the same page) but always have me hooked from the off. They are gripping, often gory, detective novels in my opinion.

I thought this was the first novel I’d somehow missed but actually reading the author notes at the end, can see she went back to write the prequel which makes a lot of sense as to how I’d never come across it when I was reading them before.

I’d rate it 10/10 - would be unfair to give it less when I’ve read it in one weekend.

likewise very much enjoying the challenge. Just watching I Jack Wright (my programme starting with I) and thoroughly enjoying it. Some of the alphabets are definitely getting trickier. Still looking for that elusive artist beginning with X. Have a few long flights with work Sept / Nov / Dec which will be good for films. And of course I am now building up my list for my 20 27s :-)
