When I phone they tell me they will “escalate” my case. I assume from the PAC meeting this is a frequent response. I’ve had no response from emails and Track my Case states “In progress” with no apparent movement.

My 60th won’t be quite the celebration I had planned ☹️☹️

  • Escalate seems to be a stock response, I had that many times, notwithstanding here I am four months on with partial payment but so much left for them to do.

They seem to have gone backwards over the last few weeks with messaging, I have three extant “in progress”.

Keep plugging on and best wishes.

Just saw this on the pension portal…

So not just delaying our pensions but sharing with colleagues now….

    Annual Benefit Statements

We are aware of an issue that occurred on the Civil Service Pensions Scheme (CSPS) member portal for around 35 minutes on 30 March 2026, affecting the accuracy of a small number of Annual Benefit Statements (ABS) generated in this period. 138 members either received personal ABS data belonging to other members and/or had their personal data seen by other members.

All impacted members will be written to by 9am on 3 April 2026 via secure message. If you have not received correspondence from us, your data was not impacted in any way.

This was identified quickly, ABS functionality was immediately suspended, and a full investigation undertaken.

Whilst we fix the underlying cause of this issue, ABS request functionality on the portal remains offline.

We sincerely apologise for this issue and any concerns you may have. We take the protection of members’ personal data extremely seriously.

Find it difficult to comprehend why the Govt doesn't bring the management of CS pensions in-house. I retired today after a long stint in the CS. No offer as yet and no reply to the comms. My dept informed them in early Nov about my pending retirement. Given some of the examples from members I've read on here, clearly members who have waited a long time for their pensions to be paid out, I'm not expecting to hear anything any time soon. It's a disgraceful situation and the CEO should indeed fall on his sword.

Because the management consultants told them to move it out? Sorry I meant they were advised to outsource that area of provisioning.

It all started back with Francis Maude in 2010, when the in-house provision was outsourced to the newly created mutual, MyCSP.

Back then, mutuals with ownership split between private sector, staff, and government were viewed as the ideal combination of outsourced expertise whilst retaining staff engagement and a stake for government.

Like most new things, ideas changed, and in 2018 the government sold off its 25% stake in MyCSP, and then retendered the contract over a prolonged period due to 2015 Remedy and COVID. That ended up going to Capita.

Once outsourced, in-sourcing is very challenging. You would need to procure an administration platform, and then to programme in all the scheme rules of Classic, Classic Plus, Premium, Nuvos and alpha and undergo extensive testing. A monthly interface with over 300 employers has to be maintained. Then TUPE across all the staff working on the delivery, as well as putting in place a new senior management team. That is something that would take years to do.

I saw there is a petition- to basically ask the government to mark their own homework, but still, can’t hurt.

Probably because if it was in house then Ministers would be responsible…

It doesn’t have to take years. When Carillion collapsed HMG had to insource a lot of work quite quickly. But if I were to place a bet I think you’re (sadly) probably right.

Must be a one-off because surely it must be very unusual for Capita to breach peoples data…
