still waiting for my McCloud options. I’ll probably have died of old age first!
Happily it’s not a huge amount of money, but it’s still my money, and I want to have it.
obviously the priority has to be paying people their pensions, but really doing everything they are required to do should be possible.
I imagine capita don’t deal with MPs pensions 🙄

So people who applied for a pension quote before 1/12/25 were supposed to be contacted by 10th April. No big surprise. Nothing!!

I know 2 people who are in the queue, neither has received anything. It's a ludicrous concept in my opinion anyway. Surely anyone who has had a change of circumstances and no longer wants to get their pension would have contacted Crapita and told them. Both have tried ringing and given up after over an hour. I hope I'm wrong but I suspect things are going to get even worse.

Capita said they would contact members who had registered for the portal via the portal, and write to others. On 7th April, Angela MacDonald wrote:

We are on target to have written to those of you who requested a pension quotation before 1 December 2025 by Friday 10 April.

There are still lots of issues about portal access, with lots of members reporting they have lost access. So it wouldn't be too surprising if Capita send letters out by close of business today, which might take a week or two to arrive - especially in areas where Royal Mail is struggling.

In terms of strategy, it seems the plan was to get to a position at the end of April whereby all members who have been partially paid (eg lump sum only) are all processed properly and finalised. That would just leave all the outstanding quotes, which will be handled in date order of retirement.

Presumably, the pre 1 December confirmation was to both ensure that no time was wasted on those who might not want a quote, but also to possibly enable processing of post 1 December quote requests earlier, as all the pre 1 December quote requests will be ignored until the confirmation is received back (and the older pre 1 December quotes will be the most complicated as MyCSP didn't process them for a reason), and not everyone will do that before the quote backlog is tackled in earnest in May.

Unfortunately, with delays to alpha ABS 2025 publication in the portal, the modeller being late, at best the pre-1 December letters being issued at the last minute, and the need to issue PCSPS ABS and historic ABS at some point, it has to be very doubtful that Capita will reach May in a position to set upon the quote backlog in earnest with all the other work completed. Particularly with Pension Increase and P60 letters to do as well in April. Let alone 2015 Remedy, connection to Pension Dashboard, 2026 Annual Benefit Statement / Remediable Service Statements, and 2026 Pension Saving Statements to deliver by the end of summer.

It looks like a complete review and reprioritisation of the recovery timetable is necessary given the amount of things that have not been delivered.

I'm sure they'll admit that when it's undeniably obvious to all and sundry.

My situation is pretty much falling into place (apart from being overtaxed on 3 months pension) but looking back I never foresaw the mess that was to come.

As mentioned in my previous posts I retired on 1st December and my only consulation was prior to that date I had no indication that I was in for a long stressful wait for my lump sum and pension.

My wife was due go part time and draw on her CS deferred pension but has put that back.

The whole situation is a disgrace. How can anyone plan their retirement with no guarantees they will actually get their pension when they retire.

I remember watching Capitas webinars and video demonstration on the new (all signing all dancing) proposed modeller in October I think it was and being impressed - little did I know!..…Some people retire based on figures churned out by the remodeler - What's the odds they mess that up also.....

Anyway I can see the light in my case but unbelievably I have yet to receive a single piece of communication from Capita.

    Good luck to everyone

Fo you mind me asking with a retirement date of 1/12/25, when did you receive your quote and how long it took before you got your lump sum??

I would be less stressed about the situation if the communication was better. I find the total silence very hard to deal with.

I applied to retire in May 2025 - so gave MyCSP 6 months notice which was 2 months more than recommended 4 months.

In early October I started ringing MyCSP almost daily asking where my quote was. Received quote in post around 18th Oct and posted back my signed forms (recorded delivery) around 2 days later.

Retired 1st Dec Got lump sum 7th Jan & 1st pension payment on 7th Feb. Late but nothing compared to some similar cases I have read about. I had my union pushing my case and me on phone almost daily. My biggest worry was that they had lost my forms - thankfully that was not the case but no-one at Capita could reassure me. Even a day before I got my lump sum the capita agent on the phone said she could not say or clarify what forms they had or didn't have and when or if it would likely be paid.....go figure!!

No communication at all from Capita....just amounts randomly arriving in my bank account.

Going on previous updates I was expecting to hear something by yesterday 10/4/26. This has yet to materialise although I accept wishfully that the information may be in the post.

According to the updates the 10/4 deadline relates to applications prior to 1/12/25 which mine was via MyCsp. However, the date of my application on the Capita portal is showing as 8/12/25. In fact this was the date of my secure message to check if they had received MyCsp application submitted in November 25.

Therefore, I am now unclear if Capita will treat me as a pre or post 1/12/25 applicant. I guess with all the confusing communication only time will tell.
