I could see my employment history and last years ABS yesterday, both have disappeared. Too much to hope that’s because they’ll actually get around to starting to pay my pension and arrears plus WPS refund at 4 months post retirement at the weekend?

It’s a mess, all a mess, forgive me mother. 😱

I've not logged on to the portal for a couple of months but I'm a member of one of the Civil Service FB groups & there have been quite a few reports of members not being able to view their own ABS but other people's have been appearing which is a huge GDPR issue.

Although there seems to be no rhyme or reason to what appears in the portal, perhaps Capita have pulled a lot of information off.

Easter egg: if you look at the "Last signed in" times it gives you on log in, after signing out and back in, you will notice that their server is still running on GMT.

  • Hi all.

I've spent the last week looking at this and trying to resolve my issue. I started in the Civil Service in 1984 and moved from DoE (PSA) to Transport (NWTA) then to Property Holdings and finally to Govt Office North West. I left (I think) in 1997/98.

As I am now 60 I tried to query my pension but they have said they have no record from my NI. I definitely paid in as I moved to Financial Services and was told to leave it where it was as it was index linked.

I've tried Pension Tracing service but they were the most unhelpful and rude people I have come across.

It seems that I am not alone with a 'missing pension' so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions at all on where to go next from their own experiences? Thanks in advance

Try SAR to HMRC for period 1984/1997.

    See this post and links.

  • Thanks Xylophone. I did find that but the link is dead.

I'll have a dig around for HMRC SAR request

Another thought, as a member of a CSPS in the period mentioned, you would have been contracted out of SERPS and would have accrued a Guaranteed Minimum Pension.

This should have been reflected in the calculation of your starting amount for new state pension as should any previous or subsequent contracted out membership of any other scheme.

Does your forecast indicate contracting out?

You retired in December?? Have you received your quote?? Have you had your lump sum?? I’m a deferred member and applied for my quote in November as my retirement date is 19th May. I’m yet to hear anything. Not sure if I am in the group that will be contacted by 10th April or will be waiting until June??

  • I’m in a different group of sufferers. I had my quote through from MyCSP in Oct and retired early Dec, lump sum and three months of partial pension arrears from Capita so far.

Have you contacted Capita directly to check your position?
