New Capita-run Civil Service Pension Scheme - problems (what a surprise!)

I had a similar experience. Applied to retire in May 2025, chased MyCSP at the beginning of Oct and received quote via email early Oct with MyCSP confirming receipt of my completed forms a few days later.
Retired first week of Dec and received my lump sum at the early Mar and random payment on 1st Apr.
Single letter from Capita to accompany the lump sum after it was paid out, I had to work out for myself that the random payment was three months of accrued pension with a fixed amount taken off.
Given previous poor experiences with MyCSP and after they went on strike last year I anticipated issues and put aside enough to cover for months of delays. Never expecting apart from perhaps in my worse nightmares that it wouldn’t be resolved at this point nearly a year since I applied to retire.

If your wife is still working, then her employer should have published details of who to approach where there is hardship occurring as a result of the delays.

Yes very similar indeed.....HMRC app.is my go to now. At least I can see gross payments made and tax deducted. For my first 3 months pension payments (which were paid in 2 installments btw) I can see I was put on an emergency tax code and could see gross payments which I knew to be correct. (hopefully excess tax payments will be automatically refunded soon). Without this app I would have had no clue.
Most recent payment (March pension paid 1st April) tax code now correct as shown on HMRC so net payment also correct and as expected.
Meanwhile CS Portal is useless with no worthwhile information. No payslips no nothing basically.
Love how it says all my unanswered secure messages I sent in December are "in progress" 😂.
Painful process. What I hated most is what should have been a time of celebration and a milestone moment was tarnished.

Nothing showing in HMRC app for my random payment, but it matches what I’d expect to receive for three months pension with a flat 40% taken off. Maybe a fudge to get me and others some quick arrears before they fix in the new tax year, maybe not knowing Capita, and more work for them to do!
Interestingly the arrears didn’t align with my day of retirement and I’m now owed more than a month pension. On with the motley.
I’m still “active” on the portal btw if that means anything, do you have the same status?

I feel exactly the same. It’s my 60th birthday in 5 weeks and imagined it would be a big celebration and a goal successfully reached. Instead all plans cancelled or on hold and a SIPP that has run out of funds.

Mine changed from active last week.....there is now a box that says "Your Pension Records" but surprise surprise when I click it it's empty.

The payslip for my April payment has miraculously appeared this morning. It matched what I received, but as they've not told me what my pension amount is for 26-27, I've no way of checking it's accuracy

Just to add to this forum - My account is showing as 'partially vested ' ??
no annual statement or P60 showing at the moment.
I need to ask CPS a question but am loath to send a contact form or ring due to the utter shambles at the minute !!

Partially vested in the context of a civil service pension means that an employee has earned some pension benefits but has not yet met the requirements to receive the full benefits available under the pension plan. This typically occurs when an employee has not completed the necessary years of service or has not reached the minimum age for full pension eligibility.
According to AI anyway 😬

By the same AI methodology my Active status says I must still be working, nevertheless I retired over four months ago.
Got to love the portal.
