Using that link, so far it looks like any difference would have been marginal for us - our average /kWh on Agile for the last month is 16.81p, whereas most of the amber on FreePhase so far seems to be around that.  It loses the potential midday price dip with the peak of solar - but yes, also a lower peak and we do cook during that.

I'll definitely keep my eye on it anyway.  Nice to see some (presumably sustainable) competition.

Has anyone tried to join the tariff? I filled in all the sections and it hasn't shown up on my EDF. Seemed like it was worth a try especially as there are no exit charges.
I agree I thought it is  worth a try. Let us know if they let you join. Are EDF easy to contact by email or phone?
Unless they have improved a whole heap in the past couple of years, this is a definitive no.

Here are the dynamic prices, they're released earlier than Agile, about 12:
    https://www.edfenergy.com/tariff-information-labels/freePhase

But it only goes to 7pm rather than 10:30pm; moreover if the price drops substantially in the last few Agile slots it's a good indication of a cheap night beyond that. Personally. the difference between 12 and 4 make no difference to me.

@ Spoonie Turtle.     Not on my part. I’ve re checked the the published peak rates and it is 30.8pkwh.

Maybe EDFs formula is kinder to the East Midlands region than Eastern or North West Regions.

I remember Octopus Agile had a larger add on for peak rates for the East Midlands region than most other regions.

    In Southern region today:
    • Green: 12.73p/kWh
    • Amber: 18.11p/kWh
    • Red: 32.99p/kWh
    And tomorrow:
    • Green: 16.67p/kWh
    • Amber: 19.7p/kWh
    • Red: 33.4p/kWh
My parents, in South West region, have cheaper Green and Amber than me, Spoonie or TLC but a Red rate that's between mone a Spoonie's (I can share actual rates if anyone is interested). Make of that what you will!

You might be interested in a discussion we had on the E.ON Next Community forum recently. We were looking at E.ON's Next Smart Saver Fixed 12M and EDF's FreePhase Dynamic ... https://community.eonnext.com/threads/10317-Another-new-tariff-type-on-the-way

I was going to switch to FreePhase Dynamic from my soon to expire E.ON Next Reward Days Fixed 12M v2 but I'm now attracted to Next Fixed 18M v21. I'm in the same region as @Spoonie_Turtle , Eastern.

My Switch to EDF has completed ok with no problems so far.

I’ve filled out the straightforward on line form to move FreePhase Dynamic and it says it will take a few days whilst they access 30min data from my meter.

Will post when I am actually on the FreePhase Dynamic Tariff
