Agile is pretty terrible especially in Merseyside.  Excuse to eat out tomorrow.

On the plus side, at long last it's going to be a good day for Agile Export - if anyone is still on it!

So a good test of FreePhase Dynamic in a price spike. I am lucky that I'll easily get through tomorrow unscathed on Agile, and while this looks like the last painful day for a while, I'm sure it won't be the last this season.

FreePhase Dynamic may be painful for us tomorrow but definitely cheaper than Agile in East Midlands.

    11:00pm-6:00am 16.69pkwh.    6:00am-4:00pm&7-11pm  29.91pkwh             4-7pm 37.34pkwh

For me I think FreePhase would actually work out slightly worse. Here's a typical (cold) weekday's usage for me - this was yesterday:
Most of my usage falls within 05:30-06:30 and 19:00-22:30. Prices in those slots compared...
    05:30 16.69 vs 17.68 (Agile +1p) [today 3.1 kWh used]
    06:00 29.91 vs 18.48 (Agile -11p) [today 3.2 kWh used]
    19:00-22:30 29.91 vs 17.00 to 21.34 (Agile -8 to -12p)
The 0.3 kWh used for food prep will probably happen at 5pm and there I will pay an extra 5p ish. But on the flip side, I won't be running my dehumidifier during the day (wouldn't on either tariff), so an even greater proportion of my usage will be in those early/late slots.
So that blended amber rate is a killer for me when daytime prices do this.

Really unusual usage pattern that takes advantage of the Agile dips. Are you adjusting your use according to the variations in rates or would your usage be like that anyway?

That's normal for me. Electric shower and a blast of heating when I get up, then very little until I get home from work. Usually run a desiccant dehumidifier overnight when prices are favourable, which is what you can see in the early hours, which contributes some "waste" heat.
The only load shifting I do is out of the 4-7pm slots, otherwise my evening usage would be shifted 2-3 hours earlier.
