It's been an alright first week. Two cleaning jobs were cancelled by customers due to the heat today which was a bit disappointing, but i understand and I think they were being nice thinking of me more than anything else, but unfortunately it's money lost.

On the plus side, I have been baking (I know, silly in this heat but I had time!) I made some flapjack which lasted all of 5 mins 🤣 most of it I gave away, much to DH's disgust and then today I made some cheese scones. It's the first time I have made scones, I think (I may have made them at school but I don't remember it) anyway, they were delicious and I'm really pleased with them. I will definitely be making more 🙂 I will be ordering the shopping at the weekend and plan on getting the ingredients to make bread rolls.

I've been doing quite a few surveys this week with my extra time as well, so will be cashing out on some of those soon.

Saga is settling in well, she's been very good and we couldn't have asked for better really. She's loving her toys which is nice to see. 🙂

Thanks Beanie! They were yummy, but slightly too thin, I rolled it out a tad too much and ended up making a few more out of it than the recipe said, lesson learnt 😀

Well, after only having 1 cleaning job Thursday afternoon due to the heat, I had three on Friday, 2x 1hr jobs in the morning and then 1x 2hr job in the afternoon and boy was i happy to get home and have a shower! I was a mess! 🥵 I then had one job yesterday afternoon helping a 95 year old get her tea and a bit of general cleaning. Today, I have a day off! Woohoo!

MIL arrived Friday morning to stay over the weekend as she announced to DH a few weeks ago that her and FIL are splitting up and going their separate ways. DH is fine about it, he says they're both adults and can do what they want. MIL is saying she has been the victim of emotional abuse over the last 30+years and FIL is all to blame. As an outsider looking in and having been on the receiving end of MILs nastiness, I'm not convinced and neither is DH, but we are listening and just trying to be as neutral and sympathetic as possible. They are currently still living in the same house (they already sleep in separate rooms and have done for some time) and it will be put on the market soon, but she doesn't like being there so is couch surfing around people and it was our turn this weekend. She has been very pleasant with me though and has even complimented my cooking, but I can't help being on guard with her still. We are going out for dinner today and she has offered to pay, so that will be nice, then I believe she is going home tomorrow.

I've been out for a lovely walk with the dogs already this morning, made so much nicer by it being a lot cooler and I've come back to bed for a bit. Now, I just need to "accidentally" wake DH with a nudge and get him to go make me a cup of tea 🤣
