Morning everyone!
Thank you CK and Beanie x
Well, what a week it has been! We were meant to exchange Monday, but we were told by our solicitor that they were waiting for the buyers mortgage lender to send written confirmation that they would send the funds Friday for completion, so we were not able to. It also didn't happen Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday! Thursday night I was devastated. DH cancelled the rental van and I cancelled all the utilities changing over. We had booked Friday off for the move and we just decided to have it off anyway because we weren't in the mood and thought we'd go out somewhere with the dogs. At 10:30am Friday morning when getting ready to go out we got a phone call saying they had finally received the form and could therefore exchange and complete that day. Then ensued a mad moment getting the rental van again, getting my dad round to help load everything and me packing and cleaning like a mad woman.
We got the keys at 3pm and did two van loads and three car loads (who knew we could fit so much in a one bed bungalow!)
At 7pm I handed over the keys to the little bungalow to the new owners and we spent until 9pm unloading everything so that DH could take the van back at 8am the next morning. My parents bought us pizza, they really are amazing people and we are very grateful to them for their help.
Yesterday I was up at 6am, cleaning out all the kitchen cupboards and unpacking. That's all now sorted. We're slowing cleaning and unpacking things. There's no rush. I have Monday and Tuesday off to keep doing stuff and we have things being delivered. I'm slowly changing address on everything as well.
My to do list for today:
Clean bathroom
Vacuum upstairs and the stairs
Clean wardrobe and unpack clothes
Do some washing
Put up some pictures
See my mum!
Find mortgage paperwork and see if I can login online (Maybe make a small overpayment if possible to get started!)
Have a good Sunday everyone and happy mothers day x
I've been mortgage free once, so let's do it again!
