I did think everything was going too smoothly for you - it’s not a house move if it’s not an emotional rollercoaster 😂
Joking aside, I’m glad you are in and wish you both much happiness in your new home!

Oh, wow, so much drama at the last minute 😱
Glad that the story had a happy ending, enjoy the next few days settling in.
I hope the sun shines so you can get into the garden, even if its just to hang out a load of washing 🤣

Thank you everyone! ❤️
More things cleaned, more boxes unpacked and things put in their homes, more things ordered and delivered!
Unfortunately, I couldn't register with Virgin Money to look at the mortgage because I don't actually have anything yet with the mortgage account number on. I will have to be patient and wait, but I am eager to make my first overpayment! DH thinks we should not overpay, put everything into stocks and shares instead and then pay it all off in one go, as stocks and shares will earn more money in the long run. He's probably right, but I don't care 🤣 Told him he's welcome to do that with his leftover money but mine will be going on overpayments. I want to tick off boxes on a little chart again and watch it go down. That's my motivation and how I like to do things!
I've been to two cleaning jobs on my new bike today and it was fun, but also a bit scary when you haven't ridden one in so long. I have three cleaning jobs tomorrow and then back to the office job on Wednesday, which I can't say I'm looking forward to, but hey ho, need to earn some pennies for this new house and everything that needs to go in it!
I've been mortgage free once, so let's do it again!

I’m assuming you will be back on a 10% overpayment amount? I have a very small stocks and shares isa which I plan to use some of to make a final payment towards the balance next year. I will only have had it 3 years and they do say you need to leave it for at least 5 years before seeing a decent return but as I’m only looking to use a couple of thousand I’m ok with that. The way you pay it off you will be wanting to clear it before 5 years 🤣I’m definitely with you though, I like to drip feed and see those numbers reduce.

Sorry to hijack as this is not your situation but to anyone lurking/reading who is not legally joined ie married or cp, be very careful about one person overpaying a joint product like mortgage and the other saving an equivalent amount in product in only their name. Its been well proven on diaries on these boards that this can go sour if the person you would have staked everything on being 100% normal and with you on life's journey over time changes their mind or if they lose capacity or pass away without wills, or any other unthinkable situation - courts do not always rule in the way a reasonable person would expect and ex-partners have been known to dissappear with 'their money' plus 'their half' of the lesser mortgage without a care about the poverty they leave behind

Our new bed and mattress were delivered early this morning, so that was all built and new bedding put on by lunchtime. I'm looking forward to sleeping in it tonight! Back bedroom has had bedding changed and that is all ready for boyo visiting next weekend.
A work friend came round on her lunchbreak today, so gave her the tour and then we had tomato soup with a cheese sandwich, before she went back for the afternoon. It's so nice to have a house that people can come round and see, instead of feeling a bit ashamed of. I know i never should have been ashamed of the old place, but it wasn't somewhere you could really socialise in. Seems the new buyers of the old place have already advertised it to rent, £650 a month and a £650 deposit! 😱
Some more bits delivered today, including an electric fire for the empty fireplace, which I love! I also got a vax carpet washer and when we have a nice sunny day one weekend, I'll do the living room carpet. I have a couple of customers that would like their carpets doing as well, so will have a look if that's possible.
My brother has a new gf moving in and she prefers her sofa to his, so he is getting rid of a sofa and a cuddle chair. The cuddle chair is making its way to me, as I would quite like a nice comfy chair to curl up and read books in!
Three cleaning jobs done today and back to the office job tomorrow, boo!

It was back to the office job yesterday and it wasn't bad tbh. Afterwards I had a hair cut, so that's sorted for another couple of months.
Address has been changed on more things. Just when I think I've done everything, another one pops into my head!
This evening I've set my pc back up and checked it's working fine, which it is. Tomorrow, I have office job, followed by a 2hr cleaning job, so I'm hoping it's a nice calm day and goes quite quickly. We're looking forward to actually enjoying the house this weekend!
