Well I for one am pleased by the cooling of the weather and it’s good to see the grass back to being green. I spent several weeks wearing shorts and it was strange to go back to wearing trousers. I found getting back into jeans not at all comfortable. I was thinking how ridiculously tight they were and the pockets were so shallow. It made a lot more sense when Mrs Mac, who is some 9 inches shorter than me, asked me if I had seen her jeans…oops!! 😀

I have spent a good amount of my pot early, as we really needed a break, which was absolutely lovely. I’ve got a record of what was used so will add it to the declaration total. That’s what the pot’s there for, so I’m very pleased I built it up over the past 10/11 months.

Thank you @Sue-UU the wedding was lovely and apart from the rain, the whole day went very well. DH and I were away again last weekend (lots of spending, not enough saving!!!!) We were travelling home and got a call from my MIL to say FIL was poorly again and needed to go to A&E. Yet another chest infection, so he's been bombarded with antibiotics and come home this afternoon. Fingers crossed they've sorted it out 🤞 I definitely think he's better off at home. He fell this morning in the hospital and cut his arm and when DH went in to see him this afternoon, they still hadn't covered the wound because they'd run out of dressings 😮 In a hospital ward! I despair 😱

I'm so very pleased you used some of your cash to enjoy a much-needed break. It sounds as though you thoroughly enjoyed yourselves too! You usually have a break with all you declare afterwards anyway so why not enjoy it at a time you really do need it.

It's a wonder Mrs Mac hadn't already noticed her jeans were being worn by Ant, Siju, both as bad as each other! 😂

Oh your poor FIL, such a shame that yet again he's been poorly,  if you mean it was yet another exacerbation, I really do sympathise with them both. Does he also need prednisolone? I'm always dubious of taking both them as well as the antibiotics. A hospital running out of of dressings?!!! 😱 How pathetic! At times it makes you wonder where he'd be best off, thank goodness he's safely home now at least. Best wishes to them both and let's hope he stays free from any others, bless him.Well done with the £5.

Apologies for being MIA - my dear father passed away very, very suddenly. I suppose it was mercifully quick, and he'd have felt no pain, but a terrible shock. I'm now wading through whatever is needed for the next stage - still yet to have the funeral.

Some potting has occurred as there's no time to do any spending.

Oh God bless you dear Vicky, I'm so very sorry to hear of your dear dad's very sad and sudden passing. As you say it must have been such a terrible shock to you all, but thank the dear Lord he was spared from any pain, a Godsend in itself. 
I sincerely hope that you're able to get help with all that's necessary such as an undertaker, your dad's insurance and any savings, though obviously his savings can wait until his funeral is over. Any help can be obtained from the Citizens Advice Bureau, or possibly via online.Very best wishes to you and all your family and friends.

Let all the tears flow whenever they're near, Vicky and grieve in any way you need, but always remember the good times and what a wonderful father he's been to you and all your loved ones. God bless you all.

Mine was going back into shoes/trainers (and now boots - yay!) having lived in sandals and mules all summer. Feels like I've lost a shoe size! And in fact recently-purchased trainers have had to go 0.5 up size-wise (although Adidas are known to run small as I discovered). Not exactly money-saving but most have come from ebay or were reduced in sales.

Say hi to Derek 🤗 (and do excuse the state of my sliders!). We're going into our third week with him and he's adorable and very cheeky!
