Sealed Pot Challenge ~ 19

Hi Everyone.

Just checking in as I've been very quiet for several months, my lovely Dad took very ill at the end of April and since then life has been a bit of a blur, but he's doing great now.

I've still been potting away though and my biscuit tin is the fullest I've ever seen it.

Good morning to all, Sue were you feeling a little discombobulated when you wrote your post 😂 I know I’m feeling it today, experiencing the delights of jet lag after visiting family in Oz and up since 3:50am 😬 hopefully over it soon.

On the potting front doing ok, not looked and probably not as much as there has been in the past, still can’t believe I’ve been a part of this challenge, along with many others, for 19 years 😲

I picked up and potted 5p yesterday. Looove a bit of roadkill.

I often come over all discombobulated mummytummy! I take it you're referring to me sometimes getting the days of the week in a mess? I do that so often and don't even notice until the next time I'm on the thread, but as no one ever seems to notice (or do they? 😵‍💫) I keep shhh🤫
Crikey, little wonder you've been so jet-lagged given the length of flight you travel, don't you ever sleep while travelling? Our middle grandson does as otherwise he'd have to miss hours of his holiday sleeping and there's no way he'd do that. He's not been to Oz...yet, but no doubt he will.So are you still over there or back here again? He adores all wildlife and so far has been to Sri Lanka and Borneo and adored it. Sometimes he'll go to other countries with his younger brother.

Fingers crossed you'll have saved more than you think.
I've not been saving so much over the last years what with one thing and tother. COVID certainly messed things up and there are still shops here that won't take cash! I've bank all mine since then. I hadn't realised you'd been on SPC for as long as me, haven't those years ever flown by! Look after yourself xx

Ooh, how lucky you were Ant, I haven't seen any for ages.I quite agree about the old and new members as well as the regular and occasional ones, always a delight on seeing them all.

We'll definitely know we need coats when we feel the affects of El Niño, trouble is, will we have thick enough ones?!! There are already 3 named storms in the Pacific! 😰 🥶You have a lovely weekend too xx

Sorry I've been MIA, not ignoring you! It's a little difficult being strict, the hardest part with Duke was the fact that we were trying to transition him from grass to astroturf and/or concrete for toileting, which meant standing with him on the lead, and he just wouldn't go! Eventually we would just have to let him off the lead, whereupon he would toddle straight on to the grass and do it. He would also do it on demand at the training centre. I did say to DH though that if we were blatantly disregarding everything we'd been told, they'd be able to tell in his behaviours and apart from what is minimal training really they are with us to just BE a dog.

Unfortunately Derek's arrival has been delayed until next week so all the plans we had in place for last week went out the window. He had an ear infection over the BH weekend and the antibiotics upset his stomach so it would have been a bit mean to uproot him, stick him in a car for 90 mins and then try and settle him into new surroundings while he was under the weather. The vets wanted him to complete his course of antibiotics before moving him so our diligent timetable for last week (because I was off work) has had to be trimmed. DH is off next week now instead of this week, and I've got Mon/Tues booked off. He's then doing half-days at the training centre but on Friday going home with his handler as we're away for the night, darn sarf celebrating his niece's 40th birthday. We then go away for the week 2 weeks after that so Derek is going to be passed around a bit to begin with, but once we've been away we haven't got anything else booked in.

Moneywise my total Plum savings via the various challenges are well over £2k now so I'm pretty chuffed with that!

The trials and tribulations we get with dogs eh MrsShazbat. A shame Derek had an ear infection, poor little fellah, such horrible things. Little wonder they wanted him to complete the course of antibiotics before he was moved to you. They were asking for more folk to care for them on our local TV tonight, I hope more folk rise to the challenge. Enjoy your DH's niece's birthday. Excellent work with Plum etc!

I'm delighted to tell you that T's tiredness is very much better, trouble is his back's now playing up terribly over the past few days, especially during the night. The Dr told him yonks ago they'd manage it, but now they just don't want to know, but then it's not THEIR spine is it!!
