    eTorro
I have started the process and hoping to get the free shares.
I am in the Wallet /GBP account.
I want to use open banking. My bank,  CHASE, the app needs it to be set it up from eTorro,  but I have not be able to find in eTorro and) and I am not sure how to nor did the CHASE agent.
so I tried to use Bank Payment but it will only go as far entering the amount and when I click DONE it loops
and  I have also  tried to use Faster Bank Payment but it wants to me to scan the QR code without entering any bank details.(I am dubious about this)
I would like to know how to use open banking with CHASE app? as the CHASE agent did not know about Open banking (or I can transfer the funds from my CHASE account but I am not sure whether it will go into my Wallet / GBP account)
I don't think they support Open Banking payments from Chase. Do you have another current account you could use?

CHASE manual transferred  and the free shares appeared took just 1minute to appear in my account. But the funds are allocated as below, how do I get the USD money to the GBP account with minimum or no fees, please?

From that screenshot it looks like the £5k is in your GBP account (I think you can just use the top-right currency dropdown to view in GBP.
You will need to sell the share ("close" it) in your investment account (initially this will probably go to your USD cash account, but from there you can move to GBP (you'll have to pay a FX fee) and then you should be able to withdraw the lot (add Chase as a payee from the GBP account).

Deposit or transfer at least £1,000 into a Quilter Invest ISA and get 2% cashback (up to a maximum of £200 cashback for a £10,000 deposit). Check fees on this one; offer ends 31/01/26
    https://www.quilterinvest.com/campaigns/cashback-25

New customers to the financial services company Revolut can receive £20 after signing up and making a £1 transaction; pays out instantly; offer ends 31/12/26

Thanks, might give Quilter a go. Revolut feels like scraping the barrel a bit, but then I guess I've been spoilt with all those 4 figure pension xfr offers!
Having looked at this closer, Quilter are only offering a VERY restricted number of funds/shares with their ISA product, so I'm giving that a miss as well. It's only £200 and I'd rather stick with my pseudo-whole-of-market platforms.
I haven't explored this properly either. Do you have to create and account to view the range of funds/shares? I would likely transfer £10k if VEVE to get the 2% but barely seems worth it once fees taken into account.
For simplicity, transferring the whole lot to Freetrade for a year to get 1% seems like the best time/cost decision.

VEVE is on there but oddly the acc variant VHVG is not (especially considering both VFEM and VFEG are both available).
That is, to be fair, a far bigger list than it was showing me when I was looking around their website earlier. There I was getting no more than a couple of dozen, on a page that showed them as big icons with cutesy little headers describing what their purpose was.

Too much hassle anyway figuring this out. On to the next one.
There is Quilter and Quilter Invest which is an app-only product I think. So perhaps the lists differ between the two services, like AJ Bell and Dodl?
But i think I can't be bothered to look into this properly for such small additional gain when freetrade offers a nice wrap-up deal

  • Thanks, Reddit was the trigger, now £495 "richer" as I was 10 minutes ago. Signed up, selected Microsoft, filled out all the data and was instantly verified. Created GBP wallet and deposited 5k by open banking. Shares were allocated within second. Sold the lot and proceeds were back into my GBP wallet straight away. Withdrew my 5k plus ca £495 (some fees to be paid) into my bank account. All funds arrived instantly. Etoro account closed after.
I paid by debit card and into USD. I wonder if either of those has created the failure/delay compared to you.
    Apologies for being thick...

But don't ETORO T&C require to keep the account open for 90 days?

    Weeeellllllll.... in theory......

Actually no, that might be the implication, but I don't actually think it's explicitly stated that any account must remain open for 90 days...

I successfully used Chase open banking to fund my £5k.
