I have a GB wallet, but the only option of adding funds (other than clicking on the banner), is 'add funds to USD'. Directly below that is my 'Investment account', which shows £0.00, but also 'Available USD $0.00.alewin said:

Only the first deposited amount counts for the promotion, so little point funding again. Obviously many of us have got away with not keeping the money there for the 90 days, but we did wait for the welcome gift to be credited. I'm not sure you should hold out much hope.alewin said:Tried this yesterday afternoon, did not receive the free share.
Signed up as suggested, used the PC, chose the free share before registration, created a GPB wallet and received a welcome email which stated that the account was successfully verified.
Then signed in to the app, there was a box at the home page saying verify to receive the bonus, clicked on it, it said done and was asked to deposit funds. I used open banking to deposit £5000 then after that nothing.
A few hours later noticed that on the app setting page it said action needed, regarding verification, was not there before, even though all the list of requirements were ticked green, asked chatbot which said to upload documents.
Went to upload documents and noticed that action required was no longer there, stating that my account was fully verified, I uploaded the documents anyway. Got fed up by now and withdrew the £5000 to the original bank, this came through straight away.
The documents were verified last night and received another welcome email this morning, a different one, followed later by an email which stated that my account is now fully verified.
So I don't know whether to fund the account again (bank is going to wonder what is going on), or just forget it and maybe ask the other half to try, this time waiting a while before funding the account.
Apologies for the long winded comment, may just also copy into my TrustPilot review.
The other half setup an account this afternoon, and this time every thing worked okay and received the free Nvidia share within a minute. This time did everything via browser and still funded by open banking.
Cashed out and withdrawn to the original funding account.
On their home page whilst logged in they had this banner:
Did not use the banner though, funded via the wallet/GBP account/add funds.
Mine did not have the extra verify tick, just stated verify to receive your asset and when clicked said all done and deposit funds. I must not have been fully verified as though, even though it seemed that away.
Thanks to everyone for all the info they are posting to help others.
Below that, it asks me 'want to fund trades with gbp?', and an option to 'get a GBP account'.
Totally confused.0 -
You could click on the banner, I just chose not to, it seems less confusing (regarding the currency), when funding via the wallet option.winkowinko said:

If you click on wallet from the left side, then where the USD account is listed, there is an option to create a GBP account. Then after selecting the wallet it should show a USD account and a GBP account separate.
You can click on the GBP account and on the next page, select add funds.

There's a line in the terms and conditions that says that you have to select "Trading stocks/shares", and only that, to be eligible for the free shares offer. No idea whether they enforce it, they obviously don't enforce the 90 day thing after all, but I figured there was nothing to gain by finding out so that's what I ticked...winkowinko said:Fair enough @flaneurs_lobster
I just seem to recall reading on here (or possibly elsewhere), people debating what needed to be selected at the application stage.
One line in the T&Cs that they do seem to apply is the "one offer per household" line - at least I'm guessing that's why no free shares have appeared in the account my wife set up yet.0 -
Did anyone else’s TCB £40 for the opening of TSB spend and save account fail to track?0

Being old I did all the signing up and funding through the the website on a desktop PC. Tried to use the Open Banking / fast transfer thing vis a QR code that it sent me but my HSBC app kept giving me an error message so I eventually funded by a bog-standard bank transfer to the sort code/account number that it gave me. Fairly sure that I got that from the home page rather than the wallet tab. Only set up the app after I'd finished funding it to keep track of progress more easily.GetRichOrDieSaving said:Great, all the confirmation I need to proceed thank you.Did you deposit via the home page on the app or via wallet?0 -
Did somebody say there was a step by step guide to the eToro offer? If so is there a link anyone can post? I'm really late to this I fear!0

Only select option 1 of Stocks, if you select any other option the reward will not be paid. This is in the T&C's so only tick Stocks/ETFs (inc Stocks & Shares ISA to get the reward.winkowinko said:Mate took a screenshot and has forwarded to me, The options were/are.
1 Stocks/ETFs (inc Stocks & Shares ISA
2 Crypto
3 Savings products (inc UK cash ISA, interest on balance)
4 Copy popular investors (Copy trader)
5 Currencies
6 eToro ready made portfolios (smart portfolios)
7 Commodoties
From memory, it allowed you to select more than one.
Did you and the other half have the same address? T&C's state one reward per household, however, it is not 100% clear yet if their systems check on it and if it is enforced so would be good to know. On the flipside, if the OH got it and you haven't yet, chances are, if one per household is enforced, you won't get it at all.alewin said:

eToro
Thank you for highlighting this offer, and thanks to @pecunianonolet for the guide! All worked using Barclays to deposit with open-banking and then withdrawing to the same Barclays account.
Does anyone know how the ≈£500 value from the sale of the awarded shares would be treated for tax purposes? Is it cashback (tax-free)? Capital gain?
"Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it"0 -
For CGT purposes the face value would be the value at which you got it allocated. As you make no gain with the sale because you had to pay some fees you have in fact no capital gain on the share price so there is no tax to pay.WLewer98 said:eToro
