eToro are surely going to close this loophole if they haven’t already?
You'd think, but they ran an equivalent promotion last year with the same loophole.
Yes I did read that a good few pages back. I’m guessing the amount of people who are willing to take the risk and jump through the hoops (however easy or hard they may be) is many times less than those actually using the site and earning fees for the platform.

Yet, I’m still hesitant but that’s just because it’s the weekend. Although from the past 10 pages of posts I’ve seem to pick out that the deposits and free shares have been credited (and sold) outside UK & USA trading hours anyway. So who knows….
eToro is involved in CFD trading and runs a crypto exchange, both of which are a licence to print money. So there is a great deal of cross-subsidisation that will be taking place anyway.
If you are concerned about the offer being pulled, then completing the offer requirements over the weekend, at worst, could leave you with a stock that you cannot sell until US markets open on Monday (though perhaps you will be able to sell, given others' experiences). Or you will be too late and will have to return your £5k to your bank account with no extra (with an opportunity cost of lost interest). I think it is unlikely that if the offer is still live today on Saturday, it will be pulled before US markets open on Monday, but there is a low cost to hedge your bets.
Risky - what if Microsoft goes belly-up before Monday........

Deposit or transfer at least £1,000 into a Quilter Invest ISA and get 2% cashback (up to a maximum of £200 cashback for a £10,000 deposit). Check fees on this one; offer ends 31/01/26
    https://www.quilterinvest.com/campaigns/cashback-25

New customers to the financial services company Revolut can receive £20 after signing up and making a £1 transaction; pays out instantly; offer ends 31/12/26

Thanks, might give Quilter a go. Revolut feels like scraping the barrel a bit, but then I guess I've been spoilt with all those 4 figure pension xfr offers!

Revolut seemed simple enough but I read that, although the £20 is paid within 10 days of the debit card transaction, the account has to remain "active" until the end of the "promotion period" (ie to 31/12/26), you authorise them to claw the £20 back if not.

How are people managing to speak to agents on livechat? I tried at about 6pm yesterday, and all I got was a bot fobbing me off by asking me to open a ticket that would get a response within 14 days. I said that wasn't good enough, as I want to speak to a real person. The bot said it would pass me on to an agent who would respond shortly. After 5 hours waiting the chat was cut off, and they emailed me a survey to ask what I thought of their service.😂

I'm fully expecting to wait 7 days with no response and having to withdraw £5K after that. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to who gets it and who doesn't. I followed the instructions to the letter, and got to select a share during registration. I'm just hoping there's no problem getting my money back, as there's no proper way to contact them from my experience.
I took a screenshot of my chat with a human, it kicked off with AI of course. Not sure it made any difference but I initially used the 'customer service' hyperlink in one of the multiple emails I have received!

The image shows the link the agent sent me of the t&c pdf for the welcome bonus. He didn't say explicitly but the implication is that I have attempted to game the promotion. Which is beyond irony as the internet is littered with people who have got the bonus and all their money out, including the proceeds, whilst I have neither!

It's really unusual, but he provided me with the ticket number for the operations team review. Which is not much use to me. It ended with them explaining that I have to wait for the outcome of the review indefinitely, and I should receive an email about it.

don't you need to make a £20 transaction rather than £1 to qualify for this ?

    The Required Steps are:

    • click on the promotion’s unique link provided by Manchester City FC Ltd. This unique link will redirect you to Revolut’s website where you will need to provide your phone number in order to be directed to the sign up flow to open a Revolut Personal account.
    • successfully open a Revolut Personal account for the first time through the promotion unique link. If you sign up using the normal account opening process in our app, you won’t be eligible to participate in this promotion.
    • make your first debit card payment (of a minimum amount of 20 GBP, depending on the base currency of your newly opened Revolut Personal account) within 90 business days of opening your Revolut Personal account. Your first card payment can be made using a physical or virtual Revolut card linked to your Revolut Personal account. It must be a genuine purchase (for example, transactions to other payment service providers, other bank accounts and e-wallets are not genuine transactions).

Is the Revolut offer a good one historically? i.e. is it worth taking or holding out for something better?

Has anyone used Barclays to successfully deposit the £5k to eToro in one payment via open banking? Was trying to find out if has low daily limit or not and seen some references online to only being able to do £2k a day to chip from Barclays open banking?

Last year it was £20 for a £1 spend. Before that, I don't know. As to the future, your guess is as good as mine.

It’s only the free shares that it would affect isn’t it? Not the deposited £5000?
