Aha! But what if both eToro AND Microsoft fail over the weekend?GetRichOrDieSaving said:
It’s only the free shares that it would affect isn’t it? Not the deposited £5000?flaneurs_lobster said:

Yes I did read that a good few pages back. I’m guessing the amount of people who are willing to take the risk and jump through the hoops (however easy or hard they may be) is many times less than those actually using the site and earning fees for the platform.masonic said:
You'd think, but they ran an equivalent promotion last year with the same loophole.GetRichOrDieSaving said:eToro are surely going to close this loophole if they haven’t already?Yet, I’m still hesitant but that’s just because it’s the weekend. Although from the past 10 pages of posts I’ve seem to pick out that the deposits and free shares have been credited (and sold) outside UK & USA trading hours anyway. So who knows….eToro is involved in CFD trading and runs a crypto exchange, both of which are a licence to print money. So there is a great deal of cross-subsidisation that will be taking place anyway. If you are concerned about the offer being pulled, then completing the offer requirements over the weekend, at worst, could leave you with a stock that you cannot sell until US markets open on Monday (though perhaps you will be able to sell, given others' experiences). Or you will be too late and will have to return your £5k to your bank account with no extra (with an opportunity cost of lost interest). I think it is unlikely that if the offer is still live today on Saturday, it will be pulled before US markets open on Monday, but there is a low cost to hedge your bets.0 -
Who is to say some critical infrastructure isn't dependent on Microsoft. Could be a complete internet blackoutGetRichOrDieSaving said:

I suspect it was a joke. Anyhow you can 'close the position'. I 'closed' MSFT shares position immediately at 11.30hrs yesterday when US the market wasn't open.GetRichOrDieSaving said:

I used Barclays Premier account to deposit £5K to eToro in one payment via open banking and with draw back again to my same account with no problem at all (except my deposit was refused a few times as I had shifted money from some of my other accounts to Barclays and tried to fund eToro too quickly before it had properly cleared into my account)tg99 said:Has anyone used Barclays to successfully deposit the £5k to eToro in one payment via open banking? Was trying to find out if has low daily limit or not and seen some references online to only being able to do £2k a day to chip from Barclays open banking?

eToro - posted a negative review on TrustPilot, and had a response from Trustpilot asking for personal details so they can contact me.
Also left a message on their WhatsApp service.
And when they responded to another negative review on TrustPilot, they said you can schedule a phone call with them at https://calendly.com/etoro-customer-service.

Tried this yesterday afternoon, did not receive the free share.
Signed up as suggested, used the PC, chose the free share before registration, created a GPB wallet and received a welcome email which stated that the account was successfully verified.
Then signed in to the app, there was a box at the home page saying verify to receive the bonus, clicked on it, it said done and was asked to deposit funds. I used open banking to deposit £5000 then after that nothing.
A few hours later noticed that on the app setting page it said action needed, regarding verification, was not there before, even though all the list of requirements were ticked green, asked chatbot which said to upload documents.
Went to upload documents and noticed that action required was no longer there, stating that my account was fully verified, I uploaded the documents anyway. Got fed up by now and withdrew the £5000 to the original bank, this came through straight away.
The documents were verified last night and received another welcome email this morning, a different one, followed later by an email which stated that my account is now fully verified.
So I don't know whether to fund the account again (bank is going to wonder what is going on), or just forget it and maybe ask the other half to try, this time waiting a while before funding the account.
Apologies for the long winded comment, may just also copy into my TrustPilot review.1 -
I have seen here that there is a £200 shares payout on eToro for a £2500 - £4999 investment using a link from this site (link below). Has anyone seen this elsewhere or successfully got the £200?

Unfortunately I don't have £5k but I can raise £2.5k. I might go for it anyway. I just wondered if anyone else had.1 -
