Has anyone else made their £5k deposit today? Dad did and since the market is closed (Inc etoro’s extended hours trading) then rather than the free share being credited there is a pending order for £500 Microsoft. I assume this will thus execute on Monday and the free share will come into his account. However, his available cash is now £4500 so looks like they have ringfenced £500 of his £5k for the order. I assume that eToro will use their own funds to buy the share on Monday and the available cash will revert back to £5k post trade execution.
Did this yesterday evening. Seeing the same thing. Will see if it rights itself on Monday before I start compliant that I didn't actually want to buy £500 of Microsoft shares with my own money.
Perhaps this is what happens when markets are closed. I did not see my funds ever drop below £5k, but if the process is quick during market hours then I might not have had chance to.
Suggests the process is 1) customer funds account, 2) selected share is auto-purchased, 3) when order is confirmed executed price is credited back.
Not familiar with eToro and their extended trading hours facility. Would the trades described here execute when eToro open their platform to such at 01:15 EST (06:15 GMT?) Monday? Microsoft are one of the stocks named as eligible.
Yes that would be my guess since my own order was executed during extended trading hours.

I think so as it has the kids pass stuff. Doesn't say a min investment to get the cashback though.

Yes it does, under the "Terms" dropdown
    • You open the account with £500 or more.

What it doesn't seem to say is how long that £500 needs to be in that ISA.

Sorry, yes, I couldn't get the terms drop down to open but it turns out there was an "allow cookies" popup I needed to respond to!

After 2 days I've heard back from E-Toro, and they said that although I have deposited £5K my account is unfunded! I asked what that meant, and they said it had to be in my usd investment account, which isn't in the terms at all, and hasn't been for people in here or reddit. They referred me to their T+Cs, which showed the offer for UK is deposit £50 for free share of £50, which is their old offer. Either CS are clueless, or it's the old bait and switch. I sent them screenshot of the offer I signed up to. Not sure what to do now.

Had you done that, you'd have had to pay 2 x FX conversion fees, which would have cost a fair bit. I was careful to open and fund only the GBP account for this reason.

There are terms of this offer on a link on their home page, just below the Start now button

The relevant eToro entity for each participant is determined by the participant’s country of residence or the entity with which their eToro account is
    registered

In the table lower down in the appendix, no mention of 50 in any currency

For anyone who is planning on keeping the £5k in etoro for the 90 days in a money market fund, which one are you using? I can’t see QUID as being available on etoro so may do CSH2 though will need to check the spread during market hours to decide if worth it (especially as think etoro spreads might be a bit wider than on likes of II, HL, Fidelity etc based on a few shares I checked on Friday).
