Ive successfully opened the account and received an email to say the code is valid. However ive not deposited yet as there is no green banner to claim the free share. Does it appear straight away or does it take a while

My green banner was there straight away after account was activated and before I deposited.

Well my identity was verified, but I'm now waiting for my account to be activated.
Which will apparently happen in "a moment"
It has already been quite a lot of moments, and no activation yet…0 -
Does entering a valid code = a free share has been awarded?
Just one suggestion I've seen elsewhere - click the Person icon top left in the app - see if there's a "get free share" option.
The Terms say
3.3. The first 250 eligible customers who fulfill the criteria contained in clauses 3.1 and 3.2 of these terms will receive the Reward. The Organiser may increase the number of Prizes.
250 isn't very many (and this offer is all over reddit), hopefully the Organiser may have released some more.

My "in a moment" activation took about 5 hours yesterday afternoon/evening, and came through quite late last night when I was out.
There was no green banner to claim the free share when I logged in this morning, but I made the £200 deposit anyway. No free share arrived.
Looks like the offer may have been pulled.0 -
ah well let's see what happens. Pity I was out all day yesterday as this would have been a good one to jump on, almost as good as the etoro free £500…

XTB. Turns out I was being very impatient. Account went verified maybe an hour later, deposited funds and received the free share immediately afterwards.

Did you have to verify bank before depositing funds (from the same bank)?

Re Natwest/RBS switch offers
£200 switch offer appears to be available to existing customers as long as they don't have a current account - have I interpreted this correctly? I switched out of RBS for a bonus elsewhere, my digital regular saver remains open (but empty) so I am technically still a customer, but presumably still eligible for the switch as I didn't have a current account on the specified date.
PDF of T&Cs from RBS states "If you previously held an RBS current account you may be eligible for this offer, provided you held no RBS current account as of 6th May 2026 and you meet all the requirements listed above."
But on https://www.rbs.co.uk/current-accounts/switch-your-bank-account-to-rbs.html it says "Our £200 switch offer is available to new and existing customers who haven’t previously received a switch offer and didn’t hold a NatWest current account as of 06 May 2026."
Is it safe to assume this is a mistake and they copied the wording over from Natwest without changing the bank name? I have a Natwest current account, so can't make use of their switch offer, but it would be good to make use of the RBS one.

Wrong thread, there's this one for the NWG switch offer
but to answer your question, agree with you - cut'n'paste typo.
