Halifax debit card payment to YBS is categorised as a purchase. No MCC code displayed.

Halifax to NS&I also worked without fail, for years on end.

Though this is no guarantee that it would also work for Santander.

Is there a limit on how many Santander current accounts you can have? I currently have four of which two are the Everyday which is the one I would apply for under this £100 Amazon offer.
    I have 4 Everydays and 2 Edges
Historically that may have been the case and I had quite a few accounts, but a couple of us have had an account opening declined when having 2 or 3 Everydays but which were opened after closing down to 1. I had a conversation with a complaints handler about 3 months ago which suggests they are now limiting it to 2 of each type.

I've only just now seen the voucher part on the TCB site & filled it my details & received the email so will I still be eligible for the voucher, even t though I signed up without going through the voucher link?
No. In order to bag both the TCB cash and the voucher you'd need to go through the TCB link to the voucher page, fill in your details there and then proceed to open the account.
I had exactly the same problem as SickGroove. Incredibly annoying and unhelpful the way that TCB does not automatically flag the promotion when you click on the Get Cashback button at the top. I would expect most people to get caught out by this.

I ended up opening two Everyday accounts via TopCashBack, the first one using the button at the top flagging the £20 TCB Cashback, and the second one using the box lower down that takes you to the VoucherSent page.

I assume that I will get the £20 TCB cashback for the first account, while the second account will qualify me for the £100 Amazon Voucher (assuming I use the debit card 20 times, as I intend to). I hope I am not missing something?

If not, then I would recommend SickGroove does the same thing, opening a second account via the voucher registration page. I had no problem opening two Everyday accounts. Nothing in the offer conditions says that you are disqualified if you already have one of the accounts in question. However, you can only qualify once for the TCB cashback and once for the Amazon voucher. I don't think it has to be the same account qualifying for both.

I've got 2 everyday accounts and was allowed to open another. One of mine is a joint account so I don't know if that makes a difference.

I meant to write "assuming I use the debit card 30 times, as I intend to".

I don't think it makes a difference for Everyday accounts. I already had an Everyday account and was also able to open two new ones without any problem. None of them are joint accounts.

Well, my last Everyday, number 4, was opened less than a month ago.

Does that mean I can open more than one account for the £100 Amazon voucher?

    Doubt it.

But the only way to find out for sure is to try it.

The terms of the offer explicitly say that you can only get one Giftcard per person irrespective of how many accounts you open, so I would not bother trying to get more than one voucher (that would also mean you'd have to make an additional 30 debit card purchases for the other account, probably to no purpose).

By the way, I cannot find any post where MACKEM99 asked this question.

One other thing I notice in the offer terms is the following: "8. This promotion cannot be combined with any other Gift Card, Cashback offer, or promotion code and may not be redeemed for cash. If this is used alongside another Cashback offer or promotion code, you will not be eligible for the Gift Card."

Taken literally, this means that you cannot simultaneously claim the £20 from TopCashBack and the £100 Amazon voucher for opening the same account. Yet this is what everyone is doing and recommended by MSE etc. I expect in practice you would qualify for both rewards.

Just looked and it says one per person.
