Hi. I’ve just applied through TopCashback. I didn’t see anything about the promotion throughout the application (apart from a note in TopCashback about it).
    Does that sound correct?

No - that's not right. I did that then went back and did it again (without opening the  first account) You need to click on the note about the £100 and then fill in your details for the voucher company.

Drawn another blank by asking CHATGPT for the MCC code of the NS&I Direct Saver

The MCC code for National Savings and Investments (NS&I) Direct Saver accounts is likely to be in the "Financial Institutions" category. The most common MCC code for savings accounts and financial services like NS&I is:

    • MCC 6012 – Financial Institutions - Deposit Taking

This code is used for transactions with financial institutions, including savings accounts, investment accounts, and similar services. When you make a deposit or transaction related to your NS&I Direct Saver account, it would typically fall under this category.

If you’re looking at a specific transaction and trying to confirm the exact MCC code, it’s worth checking your bank's transaction details or asking them directly, as the MCC can sometimes vary slightly depending on how the transaction is processed.

So you didn't answer my question about whether your original question was being asked because you didn't believe me? I guess you don't.

In regards to NS&I I've already shared in a previous message what the MCC code/ description is for NS&I Premium Bonds.

I'll need to check Direct Saver at some point

You don't click go to cashback, click the box where it states the offer, that takes you to Voucher Sent website where you put your personal details in and then click submit and that takes you to Santander.

ChatGPT's made the logical guess but I think it might be wrong. Looking in my mobile app, Lloyds shows a recent debit card deposit to an NS&I Direct Saver account as, "Government Services Other." For Audible it's just, "Direct Marketing - Subscription." They don't actually show the MCC code though.

In browser based online banking NS&I is, "Government Services not elsewhere classified."

Which banks show the actual MCC code and not a vague description?

I signed up for this via TCB on 23/10 but the £20 TCB link didn't take me to any voucher sign up page.

I signed up for the everyday account & the £20 TCB tracked straight away.

I've only just now seen the voucher part on the TCB site & filled it my details & received the email so will I still be eligible for the voucher, even t though I signed up without going through the voucher link?

Halifax debit card payment to YBS is categorised as a purchase. No MCC code displayed.

Looking at one of my TSB ones to Skipton building society it shows as "card payment". Is this what Santander would require if they classed it the same?

Is there a limit on how many Santander current accounts you can have? I currently have four of which two are the Everyday which is the one I would apply for under this £100 Amazon offer.

No. In order to bag both the TCB cash and the voucher you'd need to go through the TCB link to the voucher page, fill in your details there and then proceed to open the account.
