 Have Santander had this offer before and it's worked? I know it did with TSB and Halifax Reward in terms of meeting their criteria but eg Chase are much more tightly definedTheMod1 said:trickydicky14 said:
 I hope you are sure paying to your premium bonds will work, others have reservations on that one. It may well have to be purchases and not just transfers.TheMod1 said:Nice will apply via topcashback for an extra £20 cashback and go for the free everyday current account.Then will make 30 x £1 payments to my Premium Bonds
 It has worked before as still classed as a purchase, also could use it to pay off my credit card as Be Clever With Your Cash have suggestedThe T&Cs just state the below, seems like any transaction paid by debit card so premium bonds appears to be fine.A debit card transaction includes any card purchase (including contactless, physical and online purchases) in any currency. Transfers and payments made by direct debit are not included.1

 A transfer to bank isn't a purchase, though.TheMod1 said:s71hj said:

 Edit: NS&I appears to sometimes slip through the cracks as IIRC its MCC classifies it as, "government services" and not a bank transfer.0

 And I fully agree with that so I think it's a risk. In saying that, I have used this method with other bank promotions like TSB and Halifax and it worked.wmb194 said:

 The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
 There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
 I listen all night for your step on the stair.0

 Right, it's just whether it's worth the risk for £100. I don't think Santander has a progress tracker so you'd only find out whether it works or not when it's too late. NS&I probably has a better chance of working, see my edited comment above.trickydicky14 said:

 Thanks - so why didn't I think of that!Zanderman said:
 Surely you can still upgrade your ordinary account to Edge if you want to?Nebulous2 said:I had my 123 lite closed down recently, along with all the rest of them, and have been considering opening an edge account.
 I've just applied for this offer, which is enough incentive to go ahead.
 I'll have to update my DDs manually though. If I had asked them to convert my ordinary account I would have kept account number, sort code and DDs.
 No need for this new account to be Edge, or even used at all once the offer has been used.
 I've already opened a new edge and moved my utility DDs over......0

            For a £100 voucher, I dont understand why so many people are risk adverse to buying 30x1 bananas over 60 days!0

 Yeah that's the point NS&I Prem Bonds is not classed as a transfer to a bank it is classed as "Government services not classed elsewhere," hence a purchase.0
