Santander Amazon opening offer x2

Do it as a new customer. If you use the Santander app to apply it excludes you from the offer or that’s what a pop up said during the process.Marcoos said:Apologies if this is a silly question. When going for this and you're taken to Santander's site to apply. Do you just fill in the application as if you were a new customer even if you have an account? I can't see anywhere to log in as an existing customer. Only mention is to do it via the app.1 -
Cheers both! Just wanted to check. I was never going to go the app route, as that doesn't track for most retailers via TCB.0

I am assuming that the order I received the confirmation emails from Santander corresponds to the order I opened the accounts, so I know which OLA number corresponds to which application.
Which then raises the question when several accounts are opened what’s to say that Santander send the OLA for the ‘wrong’ account that you didn’t spend 30 times on or do Santander choose the one that did have the 30 spends on!?I see problems ahead for many including me as there’s no right answer unless you open one account with one vouchersent form completed.
I also note the second account I opened has a higher OLA number than the first one. This is also true for the account numbers themselves. Perhaps that is generally the case?
In any case, I have kept both OLA numbers, so if there were a mix-up I expect it could be resolved.
The fact that so many customers have had to open two accounts to qualify for the offer - and all because of the unhelpful way that TCB presented the offer - makes me think that those who have taken this route will not face problems (assuming they meet the other conditions). Santander would face a flood of customer complaints otherwise.
The offer terms say that if you open multiple accounts, you will only qualify for one account. They do not say that this must be the only account you open.0 -

A good question. Perhaps it is in fact sufficient to open an account via TCB (or another of the listed partners), register via the VoucherSent form (if necessary subsequently), meet the debit card conditions etc, and keep track of the OLA number. That might work.CaptainFrugal said:Do you actually need to open multiple accounts due to the 'mistake'?
VoucherSent never asked for or received my OLA number, so how would it even know which Santander account is tied to my registration? If that’s the case, I’m starting to think I might not have needed to open Account 2 at all. Perhaps I could have just clicked the correct TCB link, completed the VoucherSent form, and stopped there without actually applying for the additional Account 2.
It seems a bit risky though and is more likely to lead to confusion. I think when you are redirected to Santander via VoucherSent, this is tracked by VoucherSent. When there was a similar offer earlier in the year, I seem to have only received two emails from VoucherSent, one confirming my registration, and one a few months later saying "It's time to claim your gift card!"
So VoucherSent must have already known (from Santander), that I had applied for an account and that the application had been accepted. I don't think they ever needed me to supply an OLA number. Of course, that couldn't be the case if you only filled in the registration form without then proceeding to open an account.
Hopefully, Santander will solve the problem for you by approving your second application. I'm surprised they are dragging their feet. Note that if for some reason they really don't want you to have more than one of the accounts, you could close your existing account and apply again.1 -
How do you open a every day account through the TCB link?
After clicking https://www.topcashback.co.uk/santander-everyday-current-account/ and filling in the amazon form, it always takes me to edge explorer account application.

Sounds like a glitch. The TCB page for the Everday Current Account should take you to an Everyday Current Account application (whether directly via the top button or indirectly via the voucher offer lower down). If it continues, I suppose you need to inform TCB customer service.phillw said:How do you open a every day account through the TCB link?

Yeah, I have just tried this myself (clicking on the "proceed to Santander" button at the bottom as I have already filled in the VoucherSent form). It is taking you to the application form for the Edge Explorer account. Someone should inform TCB (perhaps it is VoucherSent or Santander that is responsible for the error, but the starting page is clearly flagging the Everyday Account so TCB should take charge of fixing it).0

Why is everyone focusing on individual fruit/veg items? Just buy whatever you would normally and pay for the items individually.danny13579 said:
Not sure it's risk aversion. Maybe more feeling a bit awkward. Really, you just need to be prepared before you go to the checkout. Have your bananas, carrots, onions, apples etc. all individually weighed with a barcoded sticker on each one. Go to a big supermarket with loads of self checkouts at a quieter time of day, not a little convenience store with maybe one or two of them, where you may cause a bottleneck.moneytorques said:For a £100 voucher, I dont understand why so many people are risk adverse to buying 30x1 bananas over 60 days!
At checkout place a reusable bag on the floor, scan one of your items and pay using the debit card. Then place the item in the bag on the floor. This is to prevent repeated "unexpected item in baggage area" messages and a staff member having to keep coming over to clear it. Rinse and repeat.
Once you're not causing delays the checkout staff don't care.
I agree a larger store is better, but even if it's busy, other customers will not there long enough to notice/be bothered by what you're doing. Checkout staff will not care.0 -

Because they are typically the cheapest items. If you buy what you would buy normally, then you miss out on the cashback you would get with, for example, a Chase card (1% off all supermarket purchases). In fact, I get 3% off all my normal Tesco purchases because I use gift cards, sold at a 3% discount via JustGo Rewards.

Off topic but ONSI give 4% discount on tesco gift cards. If you're an Amazon flex driver which we all are 😁 also today topcashback have a £2 bonus if you spend a tenner (the bonus needs to be activated) so that's more than 20% return if you buy topgiftcards (if you don't already have topcashback look for a sign up offer, Martin posts about them, and if you don't know how to activate the bonus, it will show up near the top, just swipe through the offers until you see it, or wait for it to cycle through)2
