Santander Amazon opening offer x2

Thanks for the note on the OLA, retrieved from my Bin!Absolutely, it is vital you keep the OLA number. VS has previously declined payments when people couldn't provide the OLA
Great it worked for you now - fingers xed for 2 x £20 cashback, too. I have applied for an Edge via Quidco, got my OLA and my VS email but I don't have much hope Santander will open the account for me as I already have an Edge.
I have 2 sole Edge accounts, shouldn't be a problem, just remember not to fund it by more than £500 a month to avoid fees!0 -
So I’ve just opened an Everyday account, I’ve got 2 already. Went through TCB and got vouchercloud confirmation. I thought I would test making a £1 payment through Amex, via debit card route from my existing everyday account not the bank transfer route from my other banking institution account, which is what I normally do.friolento said:
Halifax to NS&I also worked without fail, for years on end.noh said:Halifax debit card payment to YBS is categorised as a purchase. No MCC code displayed.
Though this is no guarantee that it would also work for Santander. So that transaction sat as pending “purchase” for the day and now reads this:
Would this be considered a purchase? My everyday account was my old 123 lite account and only has my bill direct debits and mortgage payments going through it so never made a card purchase on it. I’m not adverse to doing the banana scan, just thought I’d check. Just used my quite new phone running android via TCB and the vs form works first time, and proceeded to open my second current account today, and both tracked so should get £40. Confirmation email received from vouchersent. My opinion is vouchersent don’t support older operating systems.
Most useful answer I got here was that vs send a CONFIRMATION email if they receive your filled out form on the way to Santander application form. So I knew my previous vs attempt had failed even though I opened the current account.
Also of note, in the long t&c of vouchersent, no6 it says in the event of a problem you would need the OLA reference which is the Santander account opening reference which you probably delete after getting the account up and running so worth making a note now.

Have I done this correctly, I've gone through TCB clicked on the add for the £100 voucher not the pink button. Filled out the form then sent to Santander, applied for account and got excepted instantly. Now TCB is tracking the £20 bit of the deal and I have received an email from Vouchersent to confirm registration. But at no point did I see a OLA number? Have I done this correctly please.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
OLA reference number is on most of the several emails Santander send to you on opening the account.trickydicky14 said:

Do you actually need to open multiple accounts due to the 'mistake'?
Just wanted to share my experience and check a few things with you guys, if possible.
I went through TopCashback (TCB) for both applications.
1) Account 1 – £20 cashback link (accidentally)
I clicked on the £20 cashback link by mistake (as many of you seem to have done), got directed straight to the Santander site, and opened an Everyday current account. Got an instant confirmation email from Santander with an OLA number, and the account was open within two days.It showed up in my app right away (I’m already a Santander customer), and I’m now just waiting for the debit card.I’m slightly nervous because I’ve read here that the 60-day spend window starts from account opening, not from when the debit card arrives. If that’s true, that could cut the timeframe quite a bit.2) Account 2 – £100 voucher offer (correct one)
Once I realised my mistake, I applied again via the £100 voucher link on TCB. This time I got redirected to VoucherSent, entered my details (they sent a registration confirmation immediately), then got passed through to the Santander site again.Same process: opened another Everyday current account, got an instant Santander email with an OLA number. Both account openings tracked on TCB (£40 pending in total), but this second account still isn’t open yet. I called Santander this morning and they said it could take a few more days, partly because they were “checking” why I’d applied for two similar accounts. Fair enough, I suppose.
Where I’m uncertain
I assume I’ll need to do the debit card spending on Account 2, since that’s the one technically linked to VoucherSent. However, if Santander rejects or delays Account 2, could I still qualify using Account 1 instead? VoucherSent never asked for or received my OLA number, so how would it even know which Santander account is tied to my registration? If that’s the case, I’m starting to think I might not have needed to open Account 2 at all. Perhaps I could have just clicked the correct TCB link, completed the VoucherSent form, and stopped there without actually applying for the additional Account 2.

You raise some good points there. It’s true the vouchersent email arrives before you open the account so can’t be tethered to it until Santander tell them the OLA number in February? after successful account opening I would think. It’s therefore reasonable to think that sending the form retrospectively may work. Which then raises the question when several accounts are opened what’s to say that Santander send the OLA for the ‘wrong’ account that you didn’t spend 30 times on or do Santander choose the one that did have the 30 spends on!?CaptainFrugal said:Do you actually need to open multiple accounts due to the 'mistake'?

I see problems ahead for many including me as there’s no right answer unless you open one account with one vouchersent form completed.
Even more reason to record the OLA reference(s) in case of dispute in February for vs to manually sort it out.0 -
Right mess up I made. I originally applied for the Santander account via TCB. However I clicked on the £20 cash back and missed the short form at the bottom. Account accepted and one hard credit search.
However because it was not linked to the voucher scheme I applied yesterday via TCB and filled in the short form before being transferred to Santander. No issues and second account opened but another hard credit search. Also received an email from Vouchers as confirmation all is registered.
TBH I was a bit worried because I wanted to check to see if the new account was shown in the app and would not let me access information in the app. Started to panic thinking they suspect fraud. However tried 20 mins after my panic attack and all is well and new second account shown.
So the first account is useless to me and will only use the second account. Fingers crossed all will be well!0 -
Apologies if this is a silly question. When going for this and you're taken to Santander's site to apply. Do you just fill in the application as if you were a new customer even if you have an account? I can't see anywhere to log in as an existing customer. Only mention is to do it via the app.0

I don't think there is any way to log in as an existing customer. It doesn't really matter. Just fill in the form you are directed to. When Santander open your account, they will provide you with your existing login details and list your new account alongside your existing ones. At any rate, that's what happened in my case.Marcoos said:Apologies if this is a silly question. When going for this and you're taken to Santander's site to apply.
