So check on the day you make the purchase, not the day after as it will move to debited and then you only see card payment to XYZ.2

Edit, it appears it was the latter, deferred start date.
Question...during the account opening process there was a section which allowed you to choose a date, was this date for the actual switch date or was it to defer commencing the switch to start the process on that date?

Probably the switch completion date, if you are actually switching.harz99 said:Question...during the account opening process there was a section which allowed you to choose a date, was this date for the actual switch date or was it to defer commencing the switch to start the process on that date?
But this thread isn't about an offer that needs switching.0 -
Thanks, but it wasn't as you suggest.Zanderman said:

Apologies, though it was only a 'probably'!harz99 said:

(I was mainly replying because I wasn't really sure whether you'd posted in the right thread as this one isn't about switching - most people taking up the offer here wouldn't have looked at a section about a switching date)0 -
Thanks, I tried one more and it did say purchase while it was pending 👍TheMod1 said:goatfaced said:My octopus payments don't say they are purchases, it just says 'card payment to octopus'It states the type of purchase when you make a purchase and it is in "pending" phase. Made a debit card payment into my Skipton account and it shows as "Purchase - domestic". I'd have thought that the adjudication as to whether the criteria of this offer has been met would be totally automated so the category being "Purchase" would be all that was required but there may be those with experience of the banking sector and how such offers are enforced who know differently?2

Banana type or payment to own account type?!PRAISETHESUN said:goatfaced said:I made 3 £1 top ups to my Octopus account before getting stopped by Santander to ask if it's really me. Made 2 more but they are pending so I don't know what sort of transaction they will be. This method worked for TSB when they wanted card payments. Fingers crossed it will work for octopus 😁Preempting exactly this, I've been doing a few transactions a day rather than trying to do all 30 in one go. Even at this rate I'm probably going to have them done before the physical card even arrives!Online payments to my British Gas and Amex accounts. The ones last week are listed as purchases, whilst the ones over the weekend are listed as card payment to XYZ.Honestly I'm not reading into it too much though. I've used my debit card to make these payments, and there's nothing in the terms of the offer to differentiate between different types of card payments, just that non-card payments are excluded:A debit card transaction includes any card purchase (including contactless, physical and online purchases) in any currency. Transfers and payments made by direct debit are not included

hiya,
I signed up for a santander account via the MSE link ..https://rewards.vouchersent.com/FOD/Reward/Registration etc
How can I verify definitively that I'll receive the voucher come February?
Thanks0 -
If your application has been successfully submitted, you will have got a confirmation email from VoucherSent, along with one from Santander advising an OLA number. Keep them both. Beyond that, there is nothing more you can do at this stage.Note there is already a thread about this offer: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6635324/santander-amazon-opening-offer-x20
