That’s what I thought cherryfudge. Only 1 item not sold out of the 7 I put up. A total of £26.00 if and when people are happy with what I sent. Funpot at £67.15 would have been slightly more but I had to buy tape.

Asked for a voucher for the credit I had with £co for sbugs. Will help keep shopping costs down.
So looked at this weeks spends compared to last years spends for the same week. Last years was £1432.83🤨, I did use a lot of petrol (£44.17)as we went on holiday. Food costs (£191.92) were higher as I took a lot food with us when we went on holiday and I was catering for my in laws who joined us. Cc (£1095.25)was high as I was treating myself to somethings as dad had left me some money but I ordered on my card. Other costs were health -£40, Out- £34.50, and miscellaneous-£28.This year same time frame total was £549.99. Cc bill-£446.63 (yha trip we booked 3 days before we found out about OH job and shopping from previous month). Out- £23.20 ( celebrating OH getting pt job)Food £59.36, health- £19.80
The difference between them is £882.84. I’m finding it very interesting looking at the difference and it’s certainly making me pause when out shopping.

OH’ s bank statement came today, it is only used to pay for subscriptions. He cocked up and is lucky I didn’t rip his head off and kicked it around like a football. Deep breath….. He paid for his car insurance using the card connected to this account ( we pay for it usually on the cc) and has gone massively overdrawn. It’s cost us 23p per day luckily it appears to only been OD for 5 days but that’s negates one of my Vinted sales. I’ve managed to transfer some money to top it up.
Rage walked miss giddychops and dropped off the last of my parcels. Quick trip to the plot to harvest kale, cabbage x2, brussel sprouts and got a couple of pumpkins out of storage. Friends are coming for tea tonight. We don’t generally do people on a night time as we are usually too tired to entertain but we are trying to come out our comfort zone a bit more.Right time to peel some 🥔 potatoes.

So frustrating... but on the positive side, you had the money to sort it out. Could the card be disconnected, and possibly connected to a main account so this wouldn't happen again? Also, you may be able to use this as an opportunity to review what cards you have and whether they work to your advantage.
We know from experience how complicated it can be when someone uses the wrong account or card!
I hope you had a good evening with your friends. I am always amazed how much you can grow on your allotment - is it a big one? I've just had confirmation after about two and a half years that I'm actually on the waiting list as I requested way back. No idea how long that wait might be but I'm starting to dream...I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

We currently run 3 and half plots cherryfudge. I have 2, my fil ( he’s not been up this year) has 1 and OH has half a plot.. We’ve really got into the swing of it this year and had it all producing except OH as he’s only just got it. Half of 1 of mine is an apple orchard - I think there are 10 cider/eating apple trees, a variety of herbs, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. Half of fil allotment has 5 apple trees, 3 pear trees, several currant and gooseberries bushes. We have 4 greenhouses, one contains a grapevine and another we have citrus trees in pots. We have several raised beds/ containers dotted around. At the back of fil we have a massive wild blackberry. I’m generally up there (although not this week as the youngest has been off college) about 3 hrs a day.Had a lovely time with friends, sent them home with a squash and a large cabbage. It’s good to share.Love 🐞

Okay, I am very impressed by that! Lots of hard work but wonderful returns for it.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

It is hard work but it’s really helped us with the CLC cherryfudge. I don’t think we would have coped so well. It’s something we are very grateful for.
We were due to meet the eldest today but they have rang up and they are full of cold. Still happy to meet us but knows the youngest picks up everything and takes ages to recover. So, we’ve decided to go to the plot instead and we will see them in a couple of weeks when we meet up for the park run OH is doing with them.Yoga is done, very stiff and certainly feeling the muscles stretching (under protest). I really need to get back into it as it really helps with my various aches and pains.
Right time to put my best foot forward and get ready to go to the plot as it’s lovely and sunny here. Washing is out , hopefully nature’s tumble dryer will get it all nice and dry.Love 🐞

Managed to get my broad beans sown yesterday . I did a few extra in pots to fill in any gaps. Sown some corn salad too. Checked for caterpillars again ( had 3 yesterday) and we seem to be clear. Definitely need to check seedlings for eggs next time . Fleeting visit from fil. Absolutely no comments on how the plots are looking. OH and I feel he’s done with the plots now and is only interested in the cider making and harvesting the odd vegetable. Harvested the last of the tomatoes and pulled out the plants. I noticed one tomato had blight, so will need to keep a close eye on the others. Harvested cabbage for tea.Mum came for sleepover and had made apple pie and potato crust pie for tea. Both were delicious. There is leftovers for lunch today.OH spent a couple of hours putting together an email detailing why he shouldn’t start his new job on the lowest grade.🤞it bumps him up a grade or 2.Paid the remaining balance of our new year holiday. We had looked into cancelling but we’re at the point where we would have had to pay out anyway. As a family we had agreed to the holiday instead of buying presents for each other ( 🎄 and birthdays this year) and my mum had decided to give OH and I money instead of 🎁 too.The plan today is to identify and then list 5 items to sell. Visit the plot and do a couple of little jobs. I need some bubble wrap so will check free cycle for the citrus trees greenhouse. Harvest tea. Get the washing out on the line.Love 🐞

ladybird - is your potato crust pie the same as a Woolton pie? Funnily enough I was watching a reel on msn yesterday talking about diets in WWII, and someone was making a Woolton Pie. I hadn't realised tatties were in the pastry - along with lard (which wasn't rationed, I don't think???), and had also assumed the "thing" about the pie was that it was meat free, not that the pastry was 'bulked out' with tatties.

Greying definitely not a Woolten pie, no pastry plus we are veggies. She adapted her recipe but it’s similar to this one https://somethingnutritiousblog.com/smashed-potato-crusted-quiche/Mum added spinach as OH wouldn’t do broccoli.
