Well the one thing he can take from this is that they have no loyalty to him so he need have no loyalty to them. Just do exactly what needs to be done and no more.Is he in a union? They might be able to negotiate a better deal for him. One thing I got when I got made redundant from one of my roles was some specific training I needed - the company booked and paid for it before I left and I did it after I left.Glad the car was okay 😊 and that you had a nice time with your mum ❤️KKAs at 15.10.25:

I really think these tick-box exercises show that management don't really understand the expertise needed for the jobs 'below' them. As @KajiKita says, it means there's no obligation to be 'loyal'.
It's good you now know what the financial implications are, so you can plan. And it's great there are more applications in the pipeline, your husband must be working very hard on them.
Great to hear the car has passed its MOT.
And your time with your Mum sounded lovely (well done for not buying plants!). I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I think beanie is right about the 'dispiriting' nature of such meetings. I get that firms make decisions for whatever reasons (not always logical or that retain the best people), but I wish they didn't treat humans so.... inhumanely, the person is "just" a postholder in the organisation to them; not a human with financial commitments, perhaps family and/or caring commitments, someone who has derived value from being "[insert job title]" with the organisation, turned up and 'done their job' in any weather etc..... the list goes on.
I'm glad to hear that your hubby is being so proactive and chasing down those new positions, and that you're doing so well with your resource management skills, keeping family life on an even keel. Bravo! Family 🐞

Thank you everyone for your supportive messages. He’s feeling very under valued and feels it’s time to move on ( providing he can get another job of course). He’s sat currently prepping for his interview tomorrow. Trying not to get to hopeful.
Had a friend over this afternoon ,it’s the first time we’ve met without our adult kids. It was good to chat, she totally gets our main worry about our current issue and how it will impact on the youngest’s life if we have to move.
So I looked at last years finances for this week compared to this year’s. 17th -23rd October so last years was £125.13-food / £40.07-petrol / £71.38- outings / £217- misc total 🟰 £453.58. This year’s was £26.11-food/ £50.00-petrol / 99p-misc 🟰 £77.10. A difference of £376.48.Love 🐞
