I have changed the choice at the top from recently created to recently posted. Hopefully it will get changed back as it doesn't really make sense the new way.

Glad it’s not just me, it’s actually putting me off coming on.
Mr🐞and I have had a heart to heart discussion on the practicalities of what we have decided to do and my concern that everything will fall to me, on top of me having to go to work. It wasn’t said to guilt trip him as he initially thought, but is a real concern as I literally do everything especially where the youngest is concerned. I suspect until we are actually living our new future we are not sure how things will work out. Felt a lot better after our chat.
    FRUGAL WINS FOR YESTERDAY.
    • breakfast was home grown grapes, lunch was freezer surprise and tea was provided by in laws.
    • watered future meal ingredients in the greenhouses. Spent over an hour taking off leaves on my tomato plants to encourage the fruits to ripen. Harvested grapes, tomatoes, courgettes, pears, welsh onions and borlotti beans.
    • will dry some of the bean seeds for planting next year.
    • no money spent.
    • bath water used to flush the loo.
    • I’ve earned a free hour of electricity for today, just need to plan when I want to use it.
    • toilet roll squished🤣.
Think that’s it , going to try and get back to sleep.

have you thought about writing a list of what each of you will be responsible for eg he is taxi service on x days, he does housework/cooks meals on x days (cooks from scratch). Do the same for you. Does not have to be everything just start with a couple as it will be a big change - you will need to accept different ways and he will have to accept this is his new ‘work’ both equally hard.

    Just a thought :}

I was going to suggest a list too. I think he will be surprised by the amount and range of things that you do for youngest.

    KK

    As at 16.10.26:
    - When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £209,304
    - OPs to mortgage = £20,180 Estd. interest saved = £10,393 to date
    c. 17 months reduction in term
Fixed rate 3.85% ends October 2030

Maybe not a list but more of a job description?

And congratulations on the fizz to start the celebration count down.

Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Thanks auti, KK, beanielou and watty1, love this as an idea. Will mull it over and then will look to implement. Felt a lot brighter today after mine and Mr 🐞chat yesterday.
Mr🐞 and I visited his parents to let them know what’s happening and they were incredibly supportive. Apparently they’ve been really concerned about Mr 🐞physical health and are really pleased that we are looking at how to manage this.

    FRUGAL WINS FOR TODAY.
    • used my free hours electricity ⚡️ to charge my phone, Mr🐞 phone, computer, vacuumed the house, wm on, full kettle of water (used to make a huge pot of tea 🫖 plus several cups to be drunk through the day) and had a shower.
    • watered future ingredients in the greenhouses, harvested 🍇 , 🍅 , 🥒 , courgettes and welsh 🧅 .
    • saved my shower water to flush 🚽 and to clean the .🛀
    • watered the house plants 🪴 with water from the rain barrel ( I always forget to do this and use tap water).
    • cash out to pay for shopping 🛍️ 🛒 rather than card. SM shop was £49odd used £2.50 worth of nectar points to get it under £50. Put several items back as decided we didn’t actually need reduced double cream or more sausages . Did get several packs of nectar price 🥕 though.
    • used homegrown Welsh onions, kale and 🥔 for tea.
    • wm, dw and 🚙 are programmed to come on cheap tariff kicks in.
    Time for sleep 😴

I suppose its like any new job, if he's not been around to see all the things you do then he is a 'new start' and will need induction, shadowing, on the job training 😆

I suppose one possible friction might be he doesn't see the need for some of the things you do so there might have to be a few discussions and some aspects might change, hopefully all for the better.

Its great you are both getting ahead and talking it all through now, well before its due to start
