Your DH is a job-conquering machine! Well done to him for the interview and the increased pay scale!
Well done to you, too, for the productive lottie, MS avoidance of the sm and MS/eco friendly domestic habits. I started to use Vinted a few weeks ago and it's rather addictive, but I imagine that if you sell things through there it's a useful way to declutter and raise cash at the same time.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Thanks cherryfudge, he’s done really well so far.Dropped off another sold item.Very quick trip to the plot during a brief spell of dry weather. Harvested salad leaves, herbs, the last french beans and beetroot. This afternoon was spent ferrying the youngest about. Managed to get them some winter boots ( they paid for them) bright red patent leather. We then went onto a charity shop where their friend works and the youngest bought a thick bed cover with beautiful poppies on for £10.Called at my half siblings to pick up some stuff and they have got a new puppy, she’s very cute.Managed to spend no money, OH made tea and a puppy cuddle = a good day

Today is going to be a very trying day as we are looking at new electric wheelchairs. So many things to consider and will need to rein the youngest in as they will want to get one straight away and just because it’s a particular colour. Need to remember to consider its dimensions and weight in relation to our current car and hoist. Hopefully the weather will improve by then as I’m not sure the youngest will entertain it if it’s raining.Anyway yoga done ( 4 days in a row) and beans are in the PC. Contemplating making a gluten free Parkin for Saturday night when we have a fire. Need to start my Christmas cakes as well. Also need to ring the garage as OH needs my car next week and see if I can swap his going instead and then mine can go in when his should.Right time locate the currants.

Didn’t have any glacé cherries but after rooting around, found some maraschino cherries instead (bbbdec 2024). Soaked them in water and then chopped them up along with the remains of a bag of cranberries and chucked in the last of the cheap brandy. Will let my Christmas cake mixture sit and steep for a couple of days.Visited the plot for a couple of hours after dropping the youngest off near a charity shop we visited yesterday. They had seen a nice photograph frame for my in-laws. Spent a couple of hours clearing the asparagus and rhubarb beds of weeds and then mulched with the triffid nasturtium plants I’d pulled out. Tomorrow I plan on weeding the herb beds. Harvested kale, rosemary and leeks for tea.On my way home I went to collect my olio requests( only 2nd time I’ve done this)and ended up with more than I asked for 3x3 bags of onions, loaf of seeded bread, 6x4 bread rolls and some mince pies🤢. OH loves mince pies so was happy. Olio is certainly helping with dealing with the fact we’ve had to suspend buying organic/ethical food etc. I feel we are doing something to be more sustainable.Several Vinted sales have been paid for today. Money has been withdrawn and deposited into our account. Didn’t manage to list any more today. Will try again tomorrow.Chiropractor tomorrow

So weekly( 31st October -6th November) budget round up.Fun pot currently stands at £65.83- thanks to V and z sales this week.So this week’s budget was £350 car insurance plus OD (OH cockup), food ££30.29 this is low because I got a voucher for sainsbugs from £co, health £17 and other £8.00 🟰£405.29
Last year same time frame £544.03, a difference of £138.74.This was always going to be an expensive week due to car insurance. I do put money aside each month to pay for both cars now, but I can’t take any out of this account as it still has several months to run.Had a quick trip to sm this morning to get the youngest a medipac. There are certain things we buy when they are ill, to make getting meds in them easier. There are certain foods that they will only eat when ill🟰£26.32. Although I did get a request for bix and marm-yuk from OH.Did visit the plot, started covering up bits of the plot that are no longer being used. I thought that the last lot of beetroot hadn’t done anything, but there was some small ones. Harvested 4 types of lettuce.🧘🏻♀️ done, miss giddychops walked, tea eaten and the youngest drugs administered.
Time for bed.

Youngest feels worse today dfwb321, got to be bad they have their childhood toy in bed with them.Made sure youngest was sorted before we went to the plot after lunch. Leftover soup all round for lunch with some olio bread for those that can eat it.
Managed to get some tarps over several areas that won’t be cultivated until spring . Sowed some more green manure , I’ve been impressed so far and definitely will be doing more next year. Especially as the tarps (old tent ground sheets) are getting holes in. The weed suppressant membrane is doing its job but it’s expensive. We definitely need to plan the plots better so we can utilise what we’ve got in regard’s to ground cover, whether than green manure or plastic covers. More 🤬 caterpillars were evicted to the compost heap. Dug up the last of the leeks. Managed to salvage something from them even though they are under attack from leek moth grubs. Harvested some swede as its stew for tomorrow. When we got back mum had been to see youngest and dropped off some delicious Parkin 😋. Which reminded me I needed to make my Christmas cake. It took 4 hours to bake in a very low oven but it looks fantastic. Think it’s the best I’ve ever made.Really need to meal plan tomorrow, I’ve been researching recipes with cabbage as its main component and found several that sound nice.
Washing almost dried in natures tumble dryer.Right time to read my book
