Dreadful night sleep for both of us, hate all this waiting. Still trying to send positive vibes out into the universe.Going to go to the plot once I’ve picked up our olio requests, onions and bread. Going to sow mint and peppers and bring them back to put in the heated propagators. Might need to pop to get some seedling compost first. I’ve grown peppers before but because they need a long growing period I usually sow them in January. A podcast I listen to says they sow about now to take advantage of the summer weather for ripening. I’m a bit concerned about them getting leggy. Wondering whether to invest in some grow lights. Might do a bit of research before I commit. Any recommendations will be gratefully receivedTime to go chivvy the youngest along.

OH has had the phone call and they have offered him the job. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. So he will have 2 part time permanent jobs working for the same company, in the same department but at 2 different levels. The main thing is that they add up to full time. Unfortunately he won’t earn as much as his current under threat job, but since it won’t exist this time next year……..So relieved 😌
Thank you everyone for sending good wishes and positive vibes it meant a lot to me. This community is so supportive.

I'm really pleased to hear your OH's good news. I appreciate it's not quite as much as he earns now, but he has really applied himself to addressing what would be a terrifying prospect for most of us and making something positive out of it. Two part-time jobs might have unintended benefits as well, such as slightly less responsibility and stress?
Fingers crossed for you and the lollipop lady job as well, being a lollipop man would pretty much be my dream job if I needed something to tide myself over for a few years before retirement

Brilliantly well done Mr Ladybird! That man must have quite some talent to get snapped up so quickly. Will you still end up with workwear to deal with?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
