Agree with regard to plate sizes. We primarily use bowls tho. I don't know if that makes us knuckle dragging heathens in the culinary world, but they do hold 'less'. I tend to keep plate useage either for a 'roast' meal, or when, like last night, there was voluminous lettuce on the plate, in addtion to the 'main' and salads.

Got to love measurable progress - well done indeed!
If you search for 'portion sized plates' or similar, there are ones with the quantities marked out. Maybe not matching a dinner set, but potentially useful for getting the hang of recommended portions.

Look for 'salad plates' as they're often smaller. And have fun trawling vintage china on ebay :)

Agree with smaller. The people I rented from gave me "grannys china" to use. It was really great quality china and very beautiful and small - but - the pattern was overwhelming and eventually a friend who was re-doing her china for "better quality" (why ???) gave me her plain white which I still use today.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

We use port meiron 'seconds' bowls to eat most meals, I think it keeps food hotter. Like you I do use a plate when having a roast. I couldn't afford the non seconds, but we chose them ourselves, raking through a huge pile and its a nice reminder of our day wandering about port meiron and I cant see what the second is, they look perfect to me. (Although I often think there's a cat hair on my plate when a butterfly antenna appears 🤔 😅 😄)

Thanks everyone for your plate advice.
The eldest is back in the country and is currently navigating their way across London to the train station. They are very tired and hungry. They are getting the train to the station nearest mum as it’s the fastest and more regular than the one near us. So mum is going to pick them up and bring them home. Mum will enjoying hearing all about their trip plus she gets them all to herself which rarely happens. So a win all round.
Yesterday I did yoga and then cycled to pick up olio requests and then for some daft reason decided to continue cycling for an hour. No wonder I slept for 3 hours afterwards. I’m so unfit🤣.
Last night the youngest and I went to see the light show been put on in our local town. Really enjoyed it but my word it was a bitter wind. So cold even though we were wrapped up. It was absolutely heaving but we managed to get a good spot near the front. The youngest was able to tilt their chair back so they got a good view. They had chips and a brownie £6.50, paid from the funpot. I ate at home.
I suppose I should get a wriggle on and get stuff sorted ready for the eldest arriving.Love 🐞

I’ve self referred to nhs physio this morning. My leg is so sore, which I know is due to exercises given by podiatrist but I want to check the advice is correct given it’s a private podiatrist. Plus my chiropractor has never commented that my legs are different lengths. After abit of research which can be a can of worms, I’ve discovered it can either be caused by structural (bones) or muscular/ tendons. This can only be seen via x ray if it’s structural, hence physio referral.
I NEED TO GET UP OUT OF BED.Love 🐞

Good to get the legs checked out. Mine were different lengths, but due to my pelvis being wonky as a result of back pain and sitting with one leg tucked under me for years :) I now remember to put both feet on the floor when I'm sitting, having done a lot of work over the years to get straightened up!

Thank you for your post greenbee I really appreciate it. Made me feel a bit more relaxed hearing from someone else who has had a similar issue.
The eldest arrived safe, sound and very tired but wired up. Took them hours to decompress from being on the go for 48hrs with little sleep. They’ve enjoyed their time away but by the sounds of it not to be repeated anytime soon. They’ve decided to see it as just a net working opportunity as they felt they’d not learnt a lot in the workshops they attended. Too hot, too many mosquitoes and no option to eat less meat. Shame I’d prepared a roast dinner🤣. They finally went to bed at 8pm and is still there🤣. Apparently someone brought little guests to the dorms, thankfully not in the eldests. However, I’ve washed all their clothes on a 40 degree wash, took out stuff that can’t go on a hotter wash and then washed it all again as a precaution. Hopefully get it all on the line today.
It’s
Mr 🐞birthday today and we are picking up the in laws and going for a meal.Love 🐞

Happy birthday Mr🐞!
The light show sounded lovely, but it was a bitter wind, wasn't it?
As for three hours cycling, you may not have been all that fit beforehand but you must be fitter now!
