Happy anniversary! What a nuisance about the inner tube, but hopefully by the time you read this you will have both the anniversary cards, the inner tube and a lovely lunch!

Even later to the party, you'll have had lunch (but not your tea), hope you've had a fab day.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. Mr🐞 and I had a long walk and ended up at a country pub. Bumped into the parent of the youngest best friend at primary school. Was lovely to see them and hear how well both their kids are. I was always sorry that the kids had not kept in touch as they featured heavily in our lives. They never “ saw” the youngest disability. Unfortunately they grew apart as they went to different school. Lovely family. Had a lovely meal, must of been good a Mr🐞 didn’t come home and have a sandwich 🥪 🤣. We still were flabbergasted at the price, £56 for 2 meals and 2 soft drinks and 2 pints. But I guess it’s not something we do really, so not sure if that’s the going rate, but it was enjoyable. But it was effectively half my weekly food bill. Had a relaxing evening.

That sounds a lovely way to spend your anniversary. Eating out does seem to be costly when compared to home cooking, but at least it was filling and you enjoyed yourselves!

Yes a chunk of money, but you both enjoyed it, and it was for a special occasion - so not comparable to home cooking/the grocery budget - and someone else got to stand over the stove and do the washing up - WIN!
I was thinking of you yesterday when a 'shout out' came up on the teatime show on R2 for someone celebrating their 24th Wedding Anniversary……. I thought….. is it……. 🤣👍

Decluttering has come to a stop for now. Only a couple of items left on V. Thinking of having a break for a couple of weeks from them both.
Picked up olio requests this morning before going to the plot for a couple of hours. Managed to get 3 new water barrels in place. Having to dig out an old raised bed that just nothing wants to grow in. It’s quite deep. Discovered that it’s got a concrete bottom (made before us) which explains some of the issues we’ve had. We are putting the barrels in there. Soil from this bed has gone in one of the greenhouses to top it up. Managed to prune all the currant bushes. Took 2 out that are very old. Pruned 2 of the pear trees too. Brought the last pumpkin home.
Managed to get all my steps despite the cold. Trying to snow here.
The eldest rang to tell us that they have been chosen to go to a big international phd student workshop in South America. We are so pleased for them. They are coming home soon before they go as they are going to an another conference at the end of the month.
Right time for sleep 😴Love 🐞
