Not having to accommodate marshmallows will save space every time you pack to go away! Also useful when they go to respite and the staff don't have to learn one more special way to give medication! I imagine it took a while to wean them off these, I think I would have been resistant if they were my marshmallows. 😊

So true cherryfudge.
Visited the plot for a couple of hours. Pruned the gooseberries which had gone berserk. They did try to put up a fight and I have several scratches to prove it. Mr🐞 rigged up some old guttering using old bike inner tubes and the old swing ropes. Another water barrel in place and more tarpaulin down to suppress the weeds. Picked some spinach for tea tomorrow(£1.50).
Tea was bubble and squeak (leftovers from the other night) and apple crumble using up more homegrown apples(£2.50).
No quite got all my steps in but I’m shattered and decided to listen to my body.

Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
Managed to drop 2 large Pyrex dishes yesterday😤. They are something I use regularly in the summer for making and freezing crumbles. At least they didn’t have food in them.
Mum and I went out this morning, but had to turn back as my engine light came on. Luckily the garage squeezed me in and did a quick check. A screw had come out of …… and that holds the ……. which prevents….. happening, hence the problem. Quick cheap fix done and will be replaced next week when it goes in for its service and mot.
Tea was chickpea and spinach curry using the spinach from the plot that I harvested yesterday.

Oh what a shame about the pyrexes. I get attached to particular ones of mine and if one goes, I will miss it. Mind you, they are quite often in charity shops round here.
I'm glad the car repairs were minor.

I was going to add the same as Cherryfudge - they are often in the chazzers here too. But also, I can't recall if you have a fArmF00ds near you - ours had a range of pyrex for sale at one point. It was possibly cheaper than some places, but perhaps not cheaper than a sale price, or if you found just what you wanted (for example), in teekaymaximum. But I'm assuming (wrong of me), you are talking about clear glass pyrex - you didn't mean the opaque stuff did you? Coincidentally I was watching a vlog (US based) and they were talking about their desire to own vintage (opaque patterned) stuff, but it was pricey.
Chickpea and spinach curry - YUM!

Hi GP and cherryfudge, the Pyrex were clear ones rather than opaque. However I do have one of those, it’s very old and I use it to bake egg shells in. The egg shells are then crushed and spread in the allotment (calcium). The ones I have come with a plastic lid which are ideal for freezing.
Right best go and collect my olio requests (gluten free bread, apples and bananas). Then picking up my friend who had to reapply for their job to celebrate getting it and it being made permanent.

I am still using pyrex bowls that were given to me as a wedding present 56 years ago. I don't know what I would do without them & the pyrex jugs that came with them.

The durability of Pyrex is fantastic. Impressive 56 years badmemory.
Had a lovely time catching up with my friend, 4 pots of tea and 2 pieces of cake shared between us £27ish. I paid to celebrate their birthday and getting the job.
Picked up olio requests, more to pick up today( onions and celery). Sm shop done, they have their annual plant sale. 2 plants for £5. Picked up a new blackcurrant, blackberry and 12 raspberry plants. Used nectar points to pay for half of them. This will be our 3rd attempt to develop a reliable raspberry crop. Sick of buying expensive plants and them not amounting to anything. Need to review where to place them. Whilst thinking about the allotment I popped to the big orange and picked up seedling and potting on compost plus some perlite. As this week I’m going to start off my aubergines and leeks. Managed to login to my card and got 10%off.
Miss giddychops has had 2 overnight in a row accidents even though she’s been let out before we go to bed. Wondering if it’s some treats that a friend gave us as they had upset her dogs tum. Not what you want to get up to in a morning. Right best get her out before I need to pick fil from the garage.Love 🐞

I would have thought a tummy upset would cause the other type of accident but what about a urine infection?
Back on pyrex. 5 pyrex dinner plates inherited 40 years ago, still in everyday use, but the pattern has disappeared. I keep thinking I will replace them but I haven't seen anything that makes me really want to.
