Well done to eldest and to you for diagnosing issue with the raised bed. You did well to get your steps in yesterday - I definitely didn’t! 😂 I will be trying harder today.

Catching up, late to the party as ever was thus, but, congratulations on the anniversary. I love that you give the same cards each year.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
Thank you everyone, we are so pleased that she gets this fantastic opportunity.
Mr 🐞 last day off. Very slow day, walks done, so steps goal met.
Took the youngest out for cake (£19). Respite care manager has been in touch to organise the youngest first over night stay next month. Youngest is very excited as it’s the next step in being independent.
New inner tube is fitted to my bike, ready to be stored back in the garage 🤣 as it’s going to rain for the next couple of days. Had to buy a new bike helmet (£19.99) as mine is 24 years old, apparently you’re supposed to replace them every 4 years😲.
Other than using homegrown sweetcorn in a chilli, not a lot of mse done.

Congrats to your eldest! What an opportunity!
That sounds like a fair amount of work at the allotment, especially when it's so cold. Is it time to prune currants? I have some that were neglected for years and I've been trying to get them into shape but admittedly haven't thought of them over winter.
I think a mental break for decluttering may give you a fresh perspective for it. I'm still waiting for some sunshine so I can take good photos before listing any more!

I wrote the above the other day and somehow didn't send it, then found it waiting to be posted just now. Oops!

Oh no - you mean I've got to cross the moss-massif (formerly known as the lawn, but desperately in need of aerating) in the cold and damp?! But thanks - I am sure I will be glad I did it when the fruit comes.

Called at the plot yesterday to pick tea (cabbage, kale and Brussels -£3).
Picked up olio requests, ended up with more than planned but it will get used eventually. 3 Swedes, 4 cauliflowers, 1 packet French beans, 2 packets pitta breads, 3 loaves of bread, 2 packets of hot crossed buns and some potatoes. Unfortunately the potatoes were green once opened. Will take these to the plot to compost. Mum is coming today so she says she will have some of the veg. Today’s requests are apples and a chocolate tray bake that we will cut up and freeze for the youngest.
Sm shop yesterday was expensive but there was quite a few things we had run out of, so £145ish. I’ve been using cash for shopping a budget of £150 a week. I’ve generally not been spending this amount on a weekly basis, so hopefully next week will be cheaper. Any change goes in 🐞pot, which is for mine and Mr 🐞 holidays. Notes stay in my 👛, usually by the end of the month it’s pays for a tank or 2 of petrol.
Bit the bullet yesterday and deleted my stuff for sale on V, only 4 items. I could have put it on holiday mode but I would have been tempted to take it off. Stuff had been on 3 wks and was just getting favourited or ridiculous offers. Will put this lot on the bay at the end of the month instead and if it still doesn’t go will add to the car boot pile.
Steps were completed in the rain 🌧️.
Today I’m picking up mil for a cuppa and a catchup.
Oh joy time to get wet with miss giddychops 🤣.

Had to cancel yesterday’s plans as….. the youngest is ill again. A cold this time. Been and bought them some multi vitamins for women since TOM is going to be a regular thing now. Another trip to the sm to pick up drugs, oj and yoghurts ( £19) and put £30 of petrol in as I was on fumes. Picked up olio requests on the way, apples and a tray bake. Tray bake cut up and frozen for future youngest treats.
Got wet multiple times walking miss giddychops but steps achieved.
Lunch was leftovers. Tea was toasted bread (Mr 🐞 was olio) and broad bean ( last summer’s that had been frozen), mint ( ditto) and feta dip. Probably about £2.00 worth of plot produce used.

Another book finished , it was bit of a slog and towards the end I started to skip bits. Usually if a book is that bad I don’t bother with it but I’d already read the first 2 of the trilogy. Disappointing ending but it’s finished and can go back to the library. So glad I didn’t buy them, which is what I was going to do. The next book I did have to buy via online second hand site as the library has the full series but not the first.
Not a lot of mse news other than the youngest is now able to take their regular medication without marshmallows, which is a saving of £1.65 every 2 months🤣. Free exercise with miss giddychops, all steps done. Oh and Mr🐞used olio pitta breads for tea. Like I say not a lot done as the rugby was on.
