Thanks beanielou, the hoist is fitted finally. The youngest is so pleased that I can drop them off today in the car. Although they’ve enjoyed using the bus, they’ve accepted that it has a massive impact on their energy levels. They’ve realised that they need to pace themselves and accept that having support doesn’t make them less independent. Not sure I’ve explained that very well.Housework done as I couldn’t leave the house until gone 3 due to the above. Sold another item on V and have been paid for another, so that’s an extra £3 to add to the fun pot. Listed another item.Miss giddychops was very pleased to be out, once the hoist was fitted, but we got absolutely soaked. She was even happier when we got back as it meant food🤣.Tea was cooked and munched. Tea for tonight was made in the sc overnight.
The youngest is better, but I’ve woken up feeling ill again. I think it’s the same bug we had at Christmas, but keeps rearing its head as the it’s the same symptoms but the severity is getting less each time.Anyway best check the youngest is getting up

Excellent news about the hoist - and that sounds like some very sensible thinking from youngest about energy levels.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

great re the hoist, and working out how to manage energy whilst young is a skill I am still trying to master whilst old
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
It's great you have the hoist! It should reduce risk as well as saving energy.
I hope you're feeling better soon.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thanks everyone. Soo relieved that it’s sorted. Finally feeling better, not as bad as the last bout. 🤞 this is the last of it. Definitely think it’s the same bug as we had at Christmas it’s just lurking and rearing its head every so often. Not a lot done over the last couple of days. Did have a couple of wobbles over whether I should go ahead with the job as there has been a couple of things around the youngest happen. However, Mr 🐞 has said they will have to figure it out, it’s not life threatening and they are quite capable. Now I’m better I can see a clearer path and glad I didn’t act rashly.Love 🐞Declutter 984/2026

Gosh I’ve been a grump today 🤣. Not sure why.Went to the plot this afternoon and between us we managed to get 3 more water barrels up and running. 2 cost us nothing as they had come from dads and the other, our allotment chair person gets blue barrels from somewhere and charges£2.50 donation to the allotment fund. Only another 7 to install😲Managed to cover 3 rhubarb plants with upturned plastic bins. I managed to rescue one bin from the donations pile at the plot recently. The other 2 were rescued last year. Harvested sprouts, cabbage and broccoli 🥦. Probably about £3.50 worth of produce.Had a food delivery that I thought I’d ordered for next weekend, so looks like marmalade making is starting tomorrow as I’ve ordered 2 kilos of servile 🍊. Spent £75.98.Used nature’s tumble dryer.Sold another item on V for £2.00Sat and read this evening whilst listening to the radio.

Sorry you had a grumpy day. I think it's something in the air (January, possibly). Great work on the allotment, though. 10 barrels!!!
Very good price though - I'm sure our (one) water barrel cost a lot more than that. Our neighbour has a capacious blue barrel with a mesh over the top - he's the sort of person you expect to be good at sourcing things so it may have been minimal cost to him.
I love the plant pot recycling at the garden centre - I've donated some I couldn't use but come home with some nice largeish pots that would have cost a few pounds. So I can see the value of a donations pile. It sounds like quite a community enterprise.
The allotment is doing you proud. If ever I get to the top of the list for allotments (a friend has just got hers, but that probably means there won't be any more massive changes this year), I will need to learn a fair amount to make it produce through the winter. In the garden at home I have leeks which are only slightly bigger than they were in the summer when I put them in. They'd do a stir fry between about 15 of them.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
